Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I just bought Stand By me and watched it for the first time in a long time.  I use to watch it constantly when I was a kid and teenager, I had the maddest crush in River Phoenix.  I still love watching it and him.

Yeah, I love it too.  I've seen it so many times I know huge chunks of it by heart.

I love Stand By Me! I have the deluxe edition dvd and I love River Phoenix! The movie is based on a short story called The Body by Stephen King it's great but the movie is better in my opinion.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Oh it was totally worth rewatching and buying on DVD.  I also know large parts by heart especially the scene where Chris Chambers breaks down to Gordy about the lunch money, River Phoenix did such a great job on that scene.
I definately recommend watching it Simon it is a great movie.  Actually when I bought it the clerk told me a customer told him he never had seen it either.  The clerk told him to buy the movie, go home and watch it immediately and never admit to anyone he had never seen it before.  I guess the customer did buy it.

Yeah, I don't see how anyone could not like that movie.  It's just about as close to perfection as movies get.

Hmmm, I have never seen an episode of Entourage, and have no desire to Netflix The Wackness. I'm a bummer today  :silly:

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

What was your last buy, Shell?  Mine was...

1465464h.jpg

And I'm so broke it'll be my last buy for a VERY long time.

My last Netflix title will be obscure to everyone on here, I'd bet an appendage.  So obscure I can't find a big enough image of the DVD cover to even post, so I just have to post the stars, John Alderton and Pauline Collins in Wodehouse Playhouse, Series 2 Disc 2...

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Which movie of that name?  The recent one, or the one from a decade or so ago about the little boy who wants to be a girl?  I've only seen the older movie.

(hint, go to dvdempire.com for postable pics of DVD covers)

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Can I post the movies I've netflixed? Well, I netflixed Alpha Dog which I already posted about, Dumb and Dumberer, the extras were hilarious and so was the commentary I have a huge crush on Derek Richardson and Eric Christian Olsen, and Just Add Water which has Jonah Hill in it, it's really dry, kinda uneventful I wish it had more of Hill, every line he said was effing side splitting funny.
