Btw, Fanboys is being released on the same day over here as "The Proposal" (comedy with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock), so people who are in the mood for comedy will definitely rather watch that one than Fanboys for two simple reaons: No one over here knows the Fanboys cast, even Kristen Bell will only be known to a select few who've seen Veronica Mars (which apparently had a great airtime--12:20 AM). Reason no. 2: The Proposal is being promoted to death. I've seen the trailer multiple times in the theater now. And here comes the shocker: I've not seen the Fanboys trailer in German theaters once. Gee, what a surprise!

I just watched Fanboys with the commentary on. It was fun, but sometimes I wish they'd let Kyle explain more of the "serious" stuff instead of Dan always butting in with goofy comments.

I see what you mean, it doesn't load right in IE 7 for me either. Try Firefox at home. Or when you select the text and move the cursor downwards, it'll sort of scroll down too.

I bought one of the biggest German movie magazines for Diane today (it's called Cinema), and they had a one page article about Fanboys. Their review was very positive too. The still they put with it was the one at the Halloween party outside where Linus, Windows and Hutch meet Eric. Nice to see they used something that you can actually see Chris's face in.

Fazit: Dieser schräge und mit viel Herzblut erzählte Spaß setzt den Menschen ein Denkmal, die "Star Wars" zu dem gemacht haben, was es ist: eine Legende.

Translation:
Summary: This quirky, fun movie is told with a lot of heart and soul and honors those people who made "Star Wars" what it is: a legend.

I just read that the Austrian theatrical release date is Sep 25, 2009.

And I decided that since Weinstein or whoever is responsible for promotion in Germany isn't doing any (that I'm aware of), I should step in. You can't see it very well because of the reflection in the window, but I've got this sticker in the rear window of my car now:

(It says: In theaters July 30, 2009)
