You're right about hauntings.  Paranormal State often makes my hair stand on end.  But I've got a crush on Ryan and I think Chip is a hoot so I can't stop watching it.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

For now this is in the rumor state, but Breaking Dawn could possibly be 3 movies, with each section of the book made into a different movie.  Some of the comments say it's more likely that there would be two movies like the last Harry Potter is gonna be.  And I really hope so because getting to the end of Part 1 in Breaking Dawn (if they follow how the book's split up) then seeing "to be continued" would kind of suck.

Read about it here: http://team-twilight.com/20090803/rumor … n-3-films/

I thought that rumor about the three movies was bogus?

This sure would be a sharp blow to the people who don't like Breaking Dawn, wouldn't it? tongue

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

Haha yeah.

They also mentioned in the article about how it might get an R rating for the sex scene (I never caught an "explicit" sex scene) and the birth.  The birth was horrible, really weirdly graphic in the book.  Honestly one of the worst things I ever read.  I won't be able to sit through the movie(s) if they keep it in there like it was written.

Their really going to rate it R? That's fine with me. I guess a lot of young fangirls won't be able to see it in theaters.

I would hate for it to be R.  Just means there's gonna be stuff that really disgusted me and made no sense in the book is gonna be in the movie.

Why was the birth so gross?

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

They had to give Bella a C-section, which Edward had to do himself.   And... well... to put it simply, the placenta was too hard to break normally, so he had to cut Bella extremely deep, which led to her losing a lot of blood.  Which went all over the place.  And while he was at it, Edward decided he might as well pull her uterus out.  Which made her bleed.  Again.  And it went all over the place.  Not to mention Bella was, for some reason, completely naked the entire time.

I don't feel like going to find my book right now, or I'd really go into it.  This is all from memory when I read it last year.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I don't remember a 'sex scene' really - just a few fades to black.

Yes, it's a very gory scene. I read it between my fingers in the classic 'I don't want to look' movie watcher scene. But I can't imagine them just leaving it out entirely, since it proves that their fears were well founded and shows why Jacob thinks the way he does about Renesmee initially. However, a well placed fade to black could work if done right (in theory at least).

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

A fade to black with Edward about the do the C-Section and a well timed Bella scream....it could work. It might save an unwanted rating too. Twilight is aimed to all ages but it really is marketed to the young teen and tween girls. I really cant see them keeping this scene for that rating. Perhaps as an extra on dvd but i really cant see them risking missing out on the revenue. I thought they dealt with the gore of the ballet classroom rather well from the first movie so it could work. *shrug* time will tell...

Eeeewwwwww.  OK, so they go from can't have sex to Edward ripping a baby out of Bella?  Does it live?  Is it a vampire baby?

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

Bella and the baby both live, she's a human/vampire hybrid.  She has a heart beat, can eat normal food (but prefers blood) and grows abnormally fast, she'll be mature when she's physically 15 but she'll hit 15 in about five years.  I think she's one of two who are actually living, because the mother has to be living during incubation.  Most hybrids kill their mothers while they're in the womb and by extension themselves.

So it did have to be messy to an extent, but I don't think it had to be described in that much detail.  But I blame Jacob, it was his POV during that part of the book.  Bella never went into that much detail... unless she was talking about Edward.

I have to agree with that. Jacob is far more descriptive of it than Bella would have been because he sees Renesmee as a monster who is killing the woman he loves. I'm not saying that his perception was warped enough to see things that didn't happen, just that he took in every detail far more than most of the other characters would.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I really hope they don't divide Breaking Dawn into several (or a couple of) movies.  The book wasn't a lot longer than the other three.  It just seems like a cynical way of getting more money out of a fan base that's already been really good to this story.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

Maybe making just one long movie would be the best. Having any of the R rated material put on an R rated dvd version would be more profitable for the creators. They should sill have the PG-13 version on dvd though. That way they can have more box office profit.

Random note: I've just seen pictures of RPattz driving a Porsche. Which is kinda cool because the company I am working for prints a lot of stuff for Porsche. And it's always me who's doing the important stuff on those jobs. big_smile

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I watched it. Can't say I liked it that much. big_smile
I really need to stay away from stuff like that, it makes the 'hole' I felt while reading the book coming back since I know I probably have to wait until at least January until I can see the movie ... roll
BUT I bought the Collector's Edition of the books. AND that book Catherine Hardwicke wrote about how they did Twilight. I guess now I have everything except those action figures, but I'm not planning to get them. They don't really look like Bella and Edward to me.

Okay, enough Twilight gobbledygook for today. LOL

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

The new trailer, with commentary from Taylor was released.  I think I can already say, New Moon was my least favorite of the series and it looks like it's gonna be my least favorite movie of the Saga as well.  Maybe I just need to get over my issues with Jacob.

Anyway, link: http://video.hitfix.com/services/player … 4318923001

I'm bettin' that if you can't get past those issues, you definitely won't enjoy the movie much.  But how do you get over them?

Actually,Jacob during Breaking Dawn made up for it.  But it doesn't take away how he was during New Moon and Eclipse.  To me, he's just an immature little twat until he finds his soulmate.  Then he becomes a weird version of Edward.

I can't stand Jacob either and for the same reasons as you, Laura. New Moon and Eclipse are my least favorite in the series.
