Re: Road Trippin'

OK, so more about my 10 day "vacation". It was supposed to be 14 but I couldn't stand my mom any longer. I really remembered why I skipped the annual trip there last year. This time it was many times worse than before. Seemed like nobody even liked us being there and the only reason we were there was because they all begged us to go so they could spend time with us. Last time I listen to them asking for anything. I got sore throat the whole time there because mom sucks at hygien and she has two cats. I'm allergic. My mom was the worst thing. Should have known the place looses it's shine when mom moves there. We were stuck in her apartment for a week even when we were supposed to be able to change between three apartments if there was trouble. Instead I was stuck watching mom drink and do her disgusting drunk talks. And she wasn't much nicer sober anymore either. She started calling my kids stupid moroons and threathened to beat them up. I listened to that enough as a kid, I do not let her do that to my kids. Thursday we were visiting my older sister's place when she took my niece -a regular teenager that says "fuck you" and "get the fuck out of here" a lot to my mom (understandable)- by the wrists and told her not to talk to her like that, my niece started crying (that crazy woman is strong, she wrestles cows for a work) and ran to the bathroom. Then mom started talking about how stupid she is and even worse about my kids. I totally flipped on her. I felt such rage it took everything in me not to actually hit her. I was just inches away. She even dodged. First time ever I've seen her being scared of anyone. Yep, that's right. Insult my children and I'll bring you my whole 5'3 of rage on you. lol. But it really wasn't funny. Even with my raging internal inferno I'm such a crybaby I can never do any short of confrontation without tearing up. Then she had the guts to refuse giving me the car keys so I could get my bag off the car and walk 2km to my sister's place with the kids. In rain. Thank you very very much, bitch. I have no mother anymore. period.

The trip was a total bust. Except for last weekend. My older sister had promised to babysit the kids this weekend so I could go to Åland to visit a new friend (from a Twilight board, I'm such a geek) and attend her wedding party. And since my older big sis is the one person in our family that actually is nice and keeps her promises, I got to go. The boat trip was numbingly boring and growd gave me anxioties but the sights were beautiful. I had the greatest time in Åland. The people were really awesome. They were all so considerant. They speak mainly swedish in Åland, it's still Finland but this is a bi-lingual country. They all switched smoothly to english when I was around so I could understand what they were talking even when I wasn't actually participating much. I'm very shy in real life. And ashamed of my accent. lol. I talked more in the party when I decided to try if having a few drinks would untwist my tongue a bit. It relaxed me a bit. I talked a lot with some people, especially one guy that talked about books and everything. There was another guy that told us all his sailor-stories. Very funny. Of course there were others too but those two did most the talking with me. I think I was rather boring for the rest of them. I was sorry to leave there so early. I merely just dropped in and left. It's a 5,5 hour boat trip one direction. Luckily the ship that took me back to mainland had a movie theater. It showed Star trek and Wolverine. I've seen both already but went to see Star trek anyway. It was an interesting experience on a boat. big_smile Felt like being on the space ship.

So I travelled enough for a while. On sunday I travelled the 5,5 hours on boat and 2 hours on train to get back to my sister's place. And yesterday I sat 6,5 hours in a train with the kids to get home. Or I didn't do much sitting. The boys were being naughty all the way. I would have got headache if I wasn't listening to music with one ear all the way. Got some belly burns anyway. Always stressing with my belly even when I don't realize it... It was great to get back home to hubby. ♥ And then he proposed to me. big_smile We're desiding a weddingdate. we're just in a common-law-marriage now.

Just wanted to say that I'm back home as of tonight. I had a great time. Photos to follow, but I'll have to sort through them first. Can't wait for August 27, when Infestation is gonna show at the Cinedom in Cologne! smile

I did, it was wonderful. Really relaxing, even though Ralf and I took a lot of day trips. Don't some of the cloud pictures look like something out of a Dark Ages fantasy novel?
