I dont know who we would need to talk to about a Catcher in the Rye movie but I would be sooooooooooo excited for it to happen. It is such a fantastic idea. I can just picture Chris as Holden too. *sigh* if only these things could happen from will alone

It would be really awesome if Chris could play Holden Caulfield in a theatrical version of Catcher In The Rye.

I wonder if he loves that book as much as most of us do at one point or other in our lives. He is a big reader. I can't believe there's never been an attempt at a movie. I must admit, you guys have got me intrigued with this idea. It'd be fun to imagine him as other characters in great literature too...

I think he'd have the range and charisma necessary to play pretty much any part to perfection.
Manus Kelley from Invisible Monsters. That is an amazing yet sick and twisted tale and Manus is a disturbed repressed unstable character... It would be cool to see if Chris could pull off a dark unlikable role like that.

I actually have a really dark idea for him that I would love to write as a screenplay. I'm rusty as hell though. Had a major setback a few years ago. Anyway, I can completely see him in this part. I told TeeJay about it. He'd be a pretty messed-up, but very calculating, often charming serial killer.

Sounds awesome! He's so likable though I wonder if it would be a bigger challenge for him to act cruel and deranged or for his fans to not still find it attractive?

That would kind of be the point. You want a guy who does the things he does in this story to be able to put on a likable face. That's what gives it power. And I know he could do it. Like you, I believe there's nothing he could do, if people would only give him the chance. You wouldn't believe the cool things he just barely missed out on.

Have you ever seen An American Pyscho with Christian Bale? He is a yuppie and a bit of an arse but he is still very charming and hot but a serial killer....Its a fascinating mix.

Yeah, of course. Love that guy, have the DVD. This idea is a bit different. The idea was that you'd see the "why" for once, as part of the story.

A quick note about Catcher in the Rye, Salinger has never sold the rights to the book for a film (and he has made it clear he never will). There was an adaptaion of one of his short stories in the 40s. He hated it, and has since refused all offers. My guess is that there will be no adaptaion until it goes into public domain.

What's the first thing your ever saw Chris in?
Freddy Vs. Jason back in '04.
What's your favorite thing he's done so far?
Remember The Daze & The Education of Charlie Banks.
What's your favorite scene in that movie/show?
Remember The Daze - The whole improvised story he tells. GENIUS.<3
Charlie Banks - When he yells at Charlie for ratting out Mick. You can see so much of DeNiro when he does that scene.<3 Oh, and lets not forget the dance... Chris + Dancing = Chris needs to do more dancing!
Who's your favorite Chris character and why?
Eli Brooks & Mike Brander. I don't think anyone can pull off a horny teenager as well as Chris can.<3
Do you remember the first time you Googled Chris? What site did you land on?
IMDB and then Chris-Marquette.com, natrually.
What were you looking for when you found our website or how else did you stumble across it?
Pictures.
What role in what movie --- any movie --- past, present or potential would you love to see Chris play?
Oh, anything based on real life. I love biopics. *cough* KID CANNABIS *cough*. other than that, I'd kill to see him in one of those really tough badass movies like GoodFellas, Pulp Fiction or Scarface.
Seen any Chris movies in a theatre?
Yes, Alpha Dog.
Own any Chris movies?
Remember the Daze, The Girl Next Door, I own 2 copies of Alpha Dog, Graduation, The Education of Charlie Banks, Fanboys, Infestation, Just Friends, Freddy vs. Jason.
Have anything special recorded off TV?
I have my DVR programmed to record 'Joan of Arcadia' whenever it comes on tv. So, I have about 10 episodes so far. I also have his ER episode.
What do you like most about Chris?
The fact that he's real, ya'know? He's not into the whole Hollywood scene. He just wants to act and do what he's best at. He's one of those actors we see very few of today who are more interested in the art of acting than the luxuries that it comes with. Also, I love his chubby face. I think it's the absolute cutest.
If you could ask Chris one question, what would you ask?
Oh boy. I dunno. Hahaha. I'd ask him if he cooks, and if so what are a some things he likes to make. Like, favorite foods and all that jazz.
Do you have any of Chris's lines that you can quote off the top of your head?
Ha! Don't get me started. I'll be here allllllllll day. Lets just say I can quote Alpha Dog, The Girl Next Door, Just Friends and some of Remember the Daze in my sleep.
Have you met Chris in person? If so, tell us about it.
Unfortunately, I haven't. But, there's a first time for everything, right?
If you could have him autograph one item or photo, what would you pick and why?
Probably my Dazed & Confused shirt. I have the exact same one he wore in 'Just Friends'. I stole it from my cousin because there was NO way he was gonna get to keep it.
What would you want to see Chris doing next out of these?
a) a very dark and suspenseful thriller
b) a sitcom
c) a quirky and/or romantic comedy
d) a horror movie
e) a drama TV show
f) an action movie
g) a dramatic movie
h) a medical or cop show
i) a theater play
j) something else entirely (if so, what?)
C. A quirky and/or romantic comedy. I'm in love with those kinds of movies. We all know that he plays Adam Rove, a love-sick puppy so freaking well, and he's natrually hilarious when it comes to comedies. I think he'd nail the whole indie weird romantic comedy thing. Something like Juno or Little Miss Sunshine.

Yeah, sometimes! Unwrapped is my faaaaaave. Paula Dean's a fave, too. Rachel Ray, not so much. She's getting to the point where I could jump through my tv and strangle her. But everything else on that channel, I'm ALL for! Its so entertaining! Saturday and Sunday mornings in my house consist of Food Network marathons.<3

Oh no, I'm past that stuff. Guy Fieri is my man. I adore Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. Can you be from Jersey and not have a favorite diner? Isn't that illegal?

LMAO! Oh yeah! That show's amazing too... because then it makes you wish you could go to all those places. And then it's fun when they show a place you've actually been to... just so you can feel special for a minute and say "I'VE BEEN THERE!". I like learning more about the food and stuff than how to make it. Because that's what I buy cookbooks for... which, i LOVE.<3

Yeah, Marietta Diner here in my town and Matthews Cafeteria in Tucker, GA. My buddy, Dave and I daydream about doing Triple D tour someday. I gave him Guido's book for Christmas.
