Isn't Jaime King married to the guy who directed Fanboys ?
Also, who is Jacen ?
At a certain part in your life. Probably when too much of it has gone by. You will open your eyes and see yourself for who you are. Especially for everything that made you so different from all the awful normals.

Yes, she is.
Jacen is the son of our friend, Sean, who was an extra in the movie. We've been watching him grow up since he was like 3. He looks more and more like Sean all the time...

I found out that my friend Becky is a Starwars Fan, too. I wanted to show her Fanboys, but we didn't have enough time. But I'll make sure that she's going to watch it. Showed her Graduation instead, she loved that one too.

Woohoo! Miracles do happen! Look what I just spotted at the coming soon page of my OV theatre! Seems like I'll eventually get my chance to see the movie on big screen again! :dancing:
That means one more movie to my list (which features Adventureland and My Sister's Keeper, which I am really looking forward to.) and one more reason to take my Fanboys shirt out. I already wore it when I watched Infestation. LOL

That is so cool! Yay! Wish they'd also shown it here in OV, I would have loved to see it on the big screen again.

Yeah, if only Stuttgart was closer to Düsseldorf ...
I'm so glad right now. I never expected the movie to show up at this little theatre. And now it's coming! I'll make sure to catch it at least once and noone and nothing's gonna stop me, I promise! LOL

OK.. so I'm sitting here... watching Fanboys... again.. and here's a little question..
When the boys get arrested you see Linus in the jail cell popping the Rx Pills..
He pulls the bottle of them out of his pocket... but he hasn't gone to the hospital yet...
We all know that doesn't happen till Vegas...
So time to weigh in.. Did Linus have the pills with him when he left home, or did they
forget to cut those 2 seconds when they pulled the other Linus "sick" scenes out???
Thoughts??

You're right, but I don't think the prison scene was supposed to take place after the hospital scene in the original script. I always thought that the pills Linus takes in prison were something he took with him on the trip because he knew he'd need them. Don't they run out at some point?
There was a scene at the canyon that was cut out of the final cut where Linus throws his empty pill bottle away. It's the scene where Hutch tells Eric about "finding his Death Star". In the final cut Zoe calls "Vegas awaits, Ladies!" and they all drive off. In the original cut the scene ended with Linus turning back to throw his empty pill bottle into the canyon, which would have been really beautiful. A gesture to tell the audience that he's okay with what's happening and that he's accepting his fate.
The scene where Linus is given the pills in the hospital make it possible for him to continue the trip, and they're probably more potent than what he had before and took in the prison cell. That's my take on it.

Works for me..
I saw some pics of the sceen you're talking about at the canyon.. and yes.. it was a beautiful shot that I really wish they would have kept in..
But from what I understand there was quiet a bit of Linus that ended up on the cutting room floor
*Sigh*
I guess I can't compalin too much though, we did get the movie... eventually.. LOL

It wasn't so much that they cut whole scenes from the final cut (except those that were replaced with scenes from the reshoots), it was more like lots of little snippets that were cut throughout the whole movie, scenes where there was a reference to Linus's illness or indications that he wasn't feeling well. There's a set of really beautiful stills from the canyon scene that I can post later when I'm at home. I'm still convinced that the original cut would have made a much better movie.

Those pics are already posted. They open the Deleted Linus thread:
http://www.chris-marquette.com/forum/vi … php?id=460
And Linus didn't throw away an "empty" pill bottle. What's the point of that? He threw away his pills because he'd accepted his fate.

It's kinda hard to tell, but I guess I assumed that the bottle was empty because it doesn't look like there's anything left in it. It would still be a gesture of Linus accepting his fate. You know, like saying: "Screw modern medicine, pills aren't gonna help me now. This right here is what's important."

You know I've been thinking about Linus and the pills all morning. If he had terminal cancer there wouldn't have been any sort of pill they could give him to keep him well.
If they were predicting 3-4 months, I think it would have been more towards keeping him comfortable... pain pills...
And if he did throw away the "pain pills" then he would have been hiding how much he was hurting from his friends so they wouldn't worry, it seems like that would be a
Linus-type thing to do. Also if they were pain pills I could see him throwing them away.. or at least taking the minimum amount he could... so his last few months, not
to mention his last grat adventure with his friends wouldn't be "foggy." I think he would want to remember it, pain and all, for his last few living months.. and into whatever
comes next...
Sorry guys, I'm starting to ramble... been up18 hours on like 3 hours of broken sleep... brain is getting fuzzy...
Time to catch some ZZZs...

Here's my favorite shots from that scene that I don't think were posted in the other thread:
I always assumed it was pain medication that Linus threw away. Of course there is no pill to make cancer better, you can only suppress the symptoms. And it would kind of make more sense if he threw an empty bottle away, because it'd be kinda stupid to throw his remaining pills away if he was having issues with pain that the pills could help with. What good would a visit to Skywalker Ranch be if Linus had to be left in the van because he was in too much pain?

He just got the pills like the day before though and the bottle was full. I really see absolutely no point in throwing away an empty pill bottle in a spectacular gesture at the "Awesome" Canyon. He could just as easily toss an empty pill bottle in the trash. Throwing away whatever the medicine was is a grand gesture, a sort of "screw medicine, I'm going out on my own terms" kind of thing. Otherwise, I see no point. But I'm not going to get into yet another stupid argument about something that ultimately just doesn't matter.

The canyon scene was before the hospital scene, Deb. Or are you referring to another scene where Linus got a bottle of pills? It's been a while that I've seen the movie and I'm not great on remembering details.

Can one of you who have been close enough in person confirm which it is?

Totally brown. Warm, yummy, translucent brown. That eye contact thing, remember how I harp on it. He's held my eyes many times by now and they're just pools I could drown in.
