My plan to see the movie early on Friday fell through and I definitey did not want to see it in the afternoon with all the fangirls and I'm not going to see it during the weekend when tons of people will see it. I'm going to see it early on Monday or Tuesday. I don't want to wait but oh well.

I was also thinking maybe Monday. But I might wait till I'm in Kentucky with my best friend Steph for Thanksgiving...

I'm going to see it in about 17 hours. No wait, that's when the double feature begins, so it's about 19 hours. Can't wait!!!

I saw it yesterday at 5:30. My friend got us premiere seating, which means we got mezzanine seats in the theater that are just like couches. You also get to eat restaurant food and drink alcoholic beverages during the movie, so that was cool. All the fangirls were in the lower part of the theater, and our section was the 20's/30's crowd, so there was no screaming, but definitely some "oohs" and "ahhs" as well as some laughing at the tweenagers below.
Overall I liked it better than Twilight. There were still some pretty cheesy scenes, (but that is to be expected because come on, the books were pretty bad in that regard) but it had a more grown up feel than Twilight. When I was reading the books, I was all about Edward, but now that I have seen the movie, I am definitely feeling the Jacob love. I think it has a lot to do with Taylor Lautner's portrayal of Jacob. I also now have an inappropriate crush on a 17 year old werewolf. I feel so dirty... lol :embarrassed:

I've never had a Double Feature Experience before so here's what it was like for me: I've seen it. I've loved it. I'm going back next week to see it again. And I just realized since I had to wait until February to see Twilight, by the end of this year I went to the theatre FIVE TIMES to see the same franchise. WOW!!! And maybe there will be a sixth times because I might go back and watch New Moon for a third time in a few weeks when less people come to the showings. Yes, I AM that crazy. And I do not have a problem with that.
EDIT: And there are still people who are more crazy than I am. LOL
Oh, just one more thing: Team Edward.

You were able to deny the power of the abs?!
I know it's about more than the abs, and I was feeling the Jacob/Bella chemistry more in the movie than I did in the book. I actually went back to read New Moon again so I could remember it a little better. Also, I will be seeing it again when I go back to NY and see my old friends this week

You're not that crazy of a fan, Anne.
I have a friend in Hawaii that's obsessed with Twilight! She wants to marry Rob and has a huge cardboard cutout photo of him and a lot of Twilight memorbilia.

Ok went and saw it the other night and I might be not liked very much for saying this but I just couldnt get into it. The book had cheesy moments but just the movie was so over the top with being corny at times. Though I agree with the inappropriate crush on a 17 year old werewolf! I am definitely a Taylor/Jacob fan. Over-all I did end up enjoying the movie but there were times when the whole movie theatre was laughing (I went to a late night showing so it was mostly 20+) and it wasnt supposed to be comedic parts. It was laughing AT the movie for being so over the top corny. I thought they could have toned it down a little bit and made it better, but thats my opinion. I will still be looking forward to seeing Eclipse and Breaking Dawn though

Uhm ... this might sound strange but ... I don't like abs. That much. LOL I am totally immune to abs. I'm just more for the skinny type. So, yeah, it's Team Edward for me. Because he doesn't need a sixpack. LOL

Yeah, I don't like abs either, but I don't like really skinny guys either. Who wants a six-pack when you can have a keg?
Offline
I actually had to find out what a "keg" is. But since I have one myself, I don't like that on guys either. LOL

Just heard the box office take. Truly stunning.
But I wanna say The Blind Side making $34.5 is phenomenal. I'm so pleased for what looks like a beautiful little film. I'm gonna try to see them both this week, since my trip to Kentucky is canceled.

The thing is, I'm generally not really into bigger/cut guys like that, but there is just something about him. I think it's more about how caring and down to earth the character is, but the abs definitely don't hurt!!

On imdb New Moon got 4.5 out of 10 stars. I hate the rating system on imdb!
Offline
It's all about trolls and backlash, Mel. It has nothing to do with quality. It's just obnoxious assholes driving down the ratings by voting 1 even though they've never even seen the movie. That's why I pay zero attention to IMDb ratings.

I know you guys have heard the whole "Bella is a lousy role model for girls" thing before, but check out Scott Mendelson's take on it. Stick with it till the end. He makes a GREAT point.

Well, guys are aloud be be lousy role models because guys are idiots. Girls are weak and have low self-esteem. Every one of us. We can't have a role model who cooks and has a boyfriend!

Our local theater had a midnight showing of "New Moon" last Thursday/Friday, and there were lines out the door for that one. And they've been about that bad ever since. I think I'll steer clear of New Moon until after the holiday, and maybe try to catch The Blind Side.
Who all has seen New Moon yet? What did everyone think?

I liked it. It definitely has its cheesy moments, but they stuck pretty closely to the book, (which I actually started to re-read) and overall it was much better than Twilight. Plus, I am a sucker for an unrequited love story, so there's that too

Possibly the best Twilight parody yet, a take off of You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6euzeLoYvQ

I'm suprised the movie theater here had a midnight showing of new moon last week because the town I live in is so small.

New Moon was good to me but I like Twilight better.

I can't say which one I like better. They're both great. I noticed some differences between the directors, but as I said, there is no really "better" or "worse" for me. I can't wait for Sunday when I do the Double Feature again.
