Awesome! You have to come tell us what you think after you watch it. If you've been lurking, you already know what I think. LOL!

So I watched "Infestation"...
Taking it for what it is, a creature feature sci-fi comedy, I liked it. But I can see why it wasn't terribly successful; without a bigger budget and bigger names in a film of that genre, there just isn't a large enough audience for that kind of film. It was totally something I might have come upon and watched on the SyFy channel (what the heck is up with that name by the way? Why is it not Sci Fi anymore??) and thought, "Hmm, that was decent," and then forgotten about. That's not to say Chris wasn't great -- I think it was the comedy, which he carried out so well, that saved the movie from being completely cliche/predictable. I mean, the plot itself -- aliens attack, few humans survive, they find the nest or whatever and destroy it only to leave you with a cliff-hanger ending -- they're still out there and they're coming for you! -- this story has been done, but the comedy made it a bit more original. It was definitely a different role for him -- all the action and whatnot -- so that was cool, seeing something different, and really, who would ever pass up a role where you get to be the hero and fight giant bugs? I wouldn't! But this unfortunately wasn't going to be his breakthrough into the mainstream...I enjoyed it though Hope that didn't come off as too negative. I did like it. It was a pleasant distraction from the fact that the basement, where my bedroom is located, has started to flood -- not my bedroom *yet,* thank God. Any of you all who believe in God, please pray for this wretched rain on the East Coast to stop!!
And as for my lurking, it's been pretty limited. I'm newly fanatical about Chris -- it was only fairly recently that I got hooked on JoA and then put together that he was in several films I liked. It was one of those lightbulb moments -- "Ah-ha!" I wouldn't have wanted to read fan reviews beforehand anyway -- I did just look at stuff you all wrote now that I've seen it though. Question: Does Chris actually speak Spanish? His pronunciation wasn't bad so I'm thinking he's at least familiar with it. It kills me when they butcher it in tv shows/films and you can tell that the actor has no freakin clue what they're saying. Random fact about me: I'm mostly fluent in Spanish after spending 2 years volunteering in South America.
Ok, it's wicked late now after changing the clocks...Peace.

I get ya, Olivia. It ain't Shakespeare, but I think it's way fun. And he's effin' adorable. Chris told me he does not speak Spanish, but his dad is Cuban and he's close to his Mima, so I'm certain he's familiar with the language. Hearing him speak it in Infestation KILLED me.

Olivia, I hope you don't mind that I put a copy what you said about Infestation in the Chris On Screen - Infestation thread. I made the forum think you posted it there yourself as well.

Ok, cool -- thanks, TeeJay! I thought about posting it there, but then I was already here...Anyway, I'll post in the appropriate place next time
That's an interesting little tidbit about the Spanish. I figured if he spoke it, it probably wasn't regularly b/c he got the emphasis wrong on one of the words, but overall he did really well with it -- it didn't pain me to hear That's cool he was able to get it down so well. Awsomeness...I'm officially impressed.
Going out to meet up with friends to see the Dropkick Murphys and celebrate St. Patty's Day Boston style -- have a great rest of the weekend, everyone!
Peace

Good review of Infestation, Olivia. The part where Chris speaks Spanish is really great.

I'm not sure if this is where I'm suppose to post this questionnaire thingy, but here we go
What's the first thing your ever saw Chris in?
I think the very first thing I ever saw him in was the Disney channel movie Up, Up & Away, although I didn't really notice him until I saw Just Friends and thought he was totally adorable!
What's your favorite thing he's done so far?
I loved Just Friends and Fanboys, so far I think those two are my faves.
What's your favorite scene in that movie/show?
Okay, I couldn't pick just one, so...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHPrxdia … re=related
HAHA! Funny!
Who's your favorite Chris character and why?
I guess it would be Adam, mostly because he's the kind of guy I want to end up with. He's dreamy :embarrassed:
Do you remember the first time you Googled Chris? What site did you land on?
Not sure when I first Googled him, but I know that when I did I found this site.
What were you looking for when you found our website or how else did you stumble across it?
Haha, I have no idea. I just know I was looking up something Chris-related.
What role in what movie --- any movie --- past, present or potential would you love to see Chris play?
That's a tough one... I think I would love to see him do something really edgy and interesting, maybe even a little heart-wrenching. Something in which he is the lead and he's dealing with something terrible, like a hardcore addiction or a horrible disease. For some reason I think he'd be great in a really complicated, intense role like that.
That being said, I also freakin' love him in comedies, so I really don't know, lol
Seen any Chris movies in a theatre?
I think I've only seen the Invisible in theaters... but now I anxiously wait for his next film to come out so I can be first in line
Own any Chris movies?
Just Friends, but I think that's it... my movie collection kinda sucks, lol.
Have anything special recorded off TV?
Haha! Yeah, I've recorded basically anything I possibly can of Chris. I'm really just now discovering Joan of Arcadia, so I've been recording those lately.
What do you like most about Chris?
I love that he seems like a really cool, down-to-earth, all-around nice guy. I dig that
If you could ask Chris one question, what would you ask?
Man, I don't know. I guess I'd like to know more about his influences as an actor, like who he looks up to and what some of his favorite movies are and why. Things like that.
Do you have any of Chris's lines that you can quote off the top of your head?
"Haha, doofus!" from Just Friends, lol. I say that one ALL the time!
Have you met Chris in person? If so, tell us about it.
No, but maybe someday hopefully.
If you could have him autograph one item or photo, what would you pick and why?
I pretty much LOVE this picture of him...
http://www.chris-marquette.com/gallery/ … =175&pos=0
He looks so serious
What would you want to see Chris doing next out of these?
a) a very dark and suspenseful thriller
b) a sitcom
c) a quirky and/or romantic comedy
d) a horror movie
e) a drama TV show
f) an action movie
g) a dramatic movie
h) a medical or cop show
i) a theater play
j) something else entirely (if so, what?)
I think A, C or F... I'm really pulling for Kid Cannabis to be completed at the moment, but other than that I'd honestly just love seeing him in anything

I did actually, and I really really liked it... except for the ending, lol. Do they plan on making another one or what, because I want to know what happened REALLY bad!

On the DVD commentary, Kyle Rankin says that he shot Leechee and a bunch of other survivors showing up, big group hug, the end. But he didn't like it, so he cut it out and ended like an old-style creature feature. But yeah, they wanted to make more movies. Rankin and Chris both signed on for three. Unfortunately, since they weren't even able to get this one picked up for theatrical release, it looks like they'll never get to make those other two. The movie business sucks.

Yeah, I'm working on Joan of Arcadia... I've seen all of the first season I think. I love Adam! I've heard the second season is really sad, and doesn't end terribly well

Watch the episodes in order, Emmy. I didn't and regret that I watched the last few episodes of season 2 first before watching the second season from the beginning.

Hey, new to the boards here. My name is Mel and here are my answers. Enjoy.
What's the first thing your ever saw Chris in?
You know, I think I technically saw him in an episode of Law and Order first but I didn't know who he was then. I of course followed him more closely once I saw him in Joan of Arcadia.
What's your favorite thing he's done so far?
He will always be my favourite as Adam in Joan of Arcadia.
What's your favorite scene in that movie/show?
There are too many good ones to choose but the one scene that always sticks out in my mind that got me hooked on his character was in The Fire and the Wood when Joan enters his shed and he flips up his mask and has this look of surprise and nervousness on his face and then the way he looked at her during the whole scene where you could tell he really liked her. I loved him in that scene.
Who's your favorite Chris character and why?
Obviously my favourite is Adam Rove because he's a sweetie pie but I also really love him as Eli. He was really funny in The Girl Next Door. I still crack up thinking about the ending of that movie when a reporter questions Eli about not going to film school and his reply was "Shut the eff up! Next question."
Do you remember the first time you Googled Chris? What site did you land on?
I wasn't big into the internet when I started watching Joan of Arcadia. I had no idea he would be in The Girl Next Door until I saw previews for it and recognized him, he was really the reason I wanted to see it. After that I started wondering what else he'd been in and looked him up on imdb. My obsession kind of got rekindled when I got an urge to see Joan of Arcadia again and downloaded it onto my computer. I now look out for projects he's doing and am trying to get my hands on the stuff that I missed out on.
What were you looking for when you found our website or how else did you stumble across it?
I was posting a message on imdb about how much I loved the episode 'Jump' of Joan of Arcadia during my re-watch of the show. Deb, kindly posted a link to this site and, well, here I am.
What role in what movie --- any movie --- past, present or potential would you love to see Chris play?
I got into reading these books by Dean Koontz, Odd Thomas. If they ever adapt the story to film, I could really picture Chris playing Odd. He has kind of that everyman look that Odd needs and the character has a lot of range that I think only Chris could pull off successfully, especially the end. Chris is awesome at emotional scenes.
Seen any Chris movies in a theatre?
So far, I've only had the pleasure of seeing The Girl Next Door in theatres. I really wanted to see Alpha Dog in theatres but they never released it here or if they did, it was quietly and really fast.
Own any Chris movies?
The Girl Next Door
Just Friends
Fanboys
Working on getting more.
Have anything special recorded off TV?
I have Joan of Arcadia downloaded on my computer.
What do you like most about Chris?
I like his eyes. That may sound really weird but it's the first thing I notice about a person and he has really nice and really welcoming eyes. Also the emotions he can convey with his face is extraordinary.
If you could ask Chris one question, what would you ask?
'Will you go out with me?' j/k. Seriously, I don't really have a question more like a request: "Make more movies and tv shows, please!"
Do you have any of Chris's lines that you can quote off the top of your head?
'Unchallenged'
'I usually don't listen to what's going on unless I hear my name'
'Raise your hand if your brother's a homo!'
'Goddammit Matt! I swear to God if you don't fuck her, I'll kill myself! Matt! Please! Please, Matt! Fuck her for me! For me!'
'I could make a better sex ed film with my mom.'
Have you met Chris in person? If so, tell us about it.
Sadly, no.
If you could have him autograph one item or photo, what would you pick and why?
Probably my The Girl Next Door DVD. I loved him in that movie and he's really funny in it. He made the movie for me.
What would you want to see Chris doing next out of these?
a) a very dark and suspenseful thriller
b) a sitcom
c) a quirky and/or romantic comedy
d) a horror movie
e) a drama TV show
f) an action movie
g) a dramatic movie
h) a medical or cop show
i) a theater play
j) something else entirely (if so, what?)
Pretty much anything. My tops for him would be a dark and suspenseful thriller or a tv show either a drama or a comedy, not necessarily a sitcom though. I'd like to see him in a GOOD romantic comedy, there are so few these days, something along the lines of (500) Days of Summer.
Offline
I desperately wanna see him in a good romantic comedy too! He so great at it. That's one reason I love Graduation so much I wrote fanfic for it. He gets to have a little romance in it. Infestation too, kinda, though there's no kissage --- something I made sure to chastise Kyle Rankin about.
And I totally understand what you mean about his eyes. They're absolutely magnetic in person. Very warm, also wise. He gives great eye contact, really looks at you when he's talking to you. I just get lost in them. It's amazing I can still speak in his presence, but somehow I manage.

I can usually judge a person's character by what I see in their eyes. They are a window to our souls as they say.
I'm really excited to see his other movies. I'm trying to get a hold of Graduation and Infestation but it looks like I'll have to get them through Amazon. I saw a clip of The Tic Code on YouTube and he was fantastic. It was weird hearing his kid voice, I'm so used to his deep voice but it looks really good. I'll have to track down a copy of that movie as well.

Yeah, it may take a little effort, but you won't be sorry you bought any of those. I also really love The Education Of Charlie Banks. If you see that one someplace cheap, snag it.
