I think most cinemas announce their schedules on Tuesday. Maybe you should check again tomorrow night.

Re: Alpha Dog (STRONG LANGUAGE & ADULT CONTENT)

Just checked it, still no sign. Maybe they'll release it a week later or something. I just hope it'll happen some time soon.

EDIT: Oops, sorry, just discovered your post in the German section. Why didn't I found that??? yikes I'll talk to Chibi as soon as I see her online.

Re: Alpha Dog (STRONG LANGUAGE & ADULT CONTENT)

I found more pics from the premiere with Chris that we haven't seen before, I think. They're from the Anton Yelchin Resource gallery.

[direct image links removed by request of the Anton Yelchin fansite's webmaster]

And, awwww, look at little Anton. I wanna pinch him. smile This is from 2002 or 2003.

[direct image links removed by request of the Anton Yelchin fansite's webmaster]

Oh, and btw... Amazon.com now has a pre-order page up for the DVD.
Widescreen edition
Full screen edition
HD edition

I don't think I'm gonna buy it before we don't know that there won't be a special edition.

Cool, that dude who played Bobby 911, Alex Solowitz, was there.  I really enjoyed that character --- the languid way he talks and the funny t-shirts. big_smile

Re: Alpha Dog (STRONG LANGUAGE & ADULT CONTENT)

Universal released their official press release for the DVD.

I think it's funny what they call the "Special Features"

KILLER BONUS FEATURES

The "Alpha Dog" DVD and HD DVD/DVD Combo disc include captivating exclusive features.

* A Cautionary Tale: The Making of "Alpha Dog" -- This exclusive documentary look takes viewers behind the scenes for an inside look at the making of the film. * Witness Timeline: Get detailed information on each witness as the shocking events unfold.

Exclusive to the HD DVD/DVD: U-Control Witness Timeline -- Access detailed information about each witness as the story's shocking events unfold, without interruption to the movie experience.

I also thought I would pass on this little bit of news about an Alpha Dog co-star.
Several sites are saying that Emile Hirsch is up for the role of "Speed Racer" in the big screen live-action version of the classic animation series.

Re: Alpha Dog (STRONG LANGUAGE & ADULT CONTENT)

Thanks for passing that on, IllinoisGuy. The "special" features are a joke. I've decided not to buy the DVD until it'll be available closer to bargain price. Screw you, Universal. I'm not spending 20 bucks on this poor excuse for a DVD. I'm still gonna watch the movie in the theater tomorrow, though.

Speed Racer, huh? Not something that blows my dress up. Don't really care that much for adaptations of comics or animation series. Except maybe fore X-Men, that rocked. Spider Man was okay too. I'm gonna watch the third movie, but it helps that I think Tobey Maguire is a cutie. smile

They've been trying to make a Speed Racer movie for about 15 years.  I'll believe it when I see it.  But if they do, Emile's fine with me.  smile

I just found out that it's going to be shown in one of the Stuttgart theatres too. So If I can't go with Chibi, I'll definitely go and see it there.

Re: Alpha Dog (STRONG LANGUAGE & ADULT CONTENT)

OK, I finally regained consciousness after fainting dead away.  LOL!  I didn't expect you to cap half-naked Chris for me tonight!!!  But I am so glad you did! tongue

Yes, he could be skinnier.  GND.  Go look at Eli in his Underoos again.  So NOT Sexy.  Half naked Keith, VERY sexy.  But yeah, I prefer beefy Linus too.  As I always say, I don't look and him and feel like I could crush him.  Maybe that's kind of an exaggeration.  Chris is plenty bigger than me.  I wouldn't crush him.  wink

Let me see if I can stuff my tongue back in my mouth now and get on with my evening.

Sigh...

Ohhh man. Thank you for those TeeJay!

I agree with you two, I'm glad Chris has filled out a bit. But I've always been the type to go for the guys who are scrawny rather than muscular, so the skinniness never bugged me too much lol

That's so funny, Brenna, because I feel the same way. Give me a skinny and a muscular dude, and I'll always go for the skinny one. My friend even invented a German word for me for those kinda guys, but it would make no sense to try to explain it in English.

Have to agree here. I think if I would have to choose I'd take Keith, but with Eli's hair. Is that possible? LOL
But actually I'd prefer Linus too.

I don't think he was skinnier in GND than he was in AD. But since I totally dig skinniness, I'm not complaining. smile I'm so glad Chris told us about the tattoos before I watched the movie. I can see the bulldog on his biceps with the number 22 and the spiders on his back. And the symbol he was talking about in the interview, although this looks more jagged than I thought it would be. He was talking about spirals, I don't see any of those. But never mind, the tats are cool. Knowing that they're not real, that is.

Here's a Frankie line for you that fittlingly just popped into my head:

Re: Alpha Dog (STRONG LANGUAGE & ADULT CONTENT)

I have to admit, I also loved the tattoos and not only because it's number 22. big_smile
I look forward seeing them on Big Screen, hopefully soon. Maybe I should watch the English version a second time before I'm going to watch the German version. I need to see how much I could understand. It sucks that I still need subtitles. The other day I tried watching Brokeback Mountain in English. Somehow I didn't have any problems to understand Jake Gyllenhaal, but it was so difficult for me to understand Heath Ledger, so I had to put on subtitles. Well, the reason could be that Ledger comes from Australia and I was never good at understanding Australians. I think I should watch more Lost episodes. LOL

Oh, but Heath Ledger didn't have an Australian accent in Brokeback Mountain! Far from it. I don't think I've seen one movie with him where he had an Australian accent. He spoke British in Brother's Grimm and A Knight's Tale and Southern (or was it Western?) American in Brokeback Mountain.

And, yes, you should watch more Lost because Claire's accent is definitely Australian.

Re: Alpha Dog (STRONG LANGUAGE & ADULT CONTENT)

Please note that I wrote it "COULB BE" the reason that I didn't understand him. I don't know what the real reason is. Maybe he just mumbled too much in his non-existing beard. And I actually don't really care what the reason was, I was just annoyed because I had to put on subtitles.
The thing with Lost is, I often watch more than one episode at once, so I get easily used to Claire's accent. So maybe not the accent is my problem. Could be something else too.

Re: Alpha Dog (STRONG LANGUAGE & ADULT CONTENT)

In your defense I need to add that Heath Ledger was hard to understand even for me in BBM. He did mumble a lot, but it fit his character very well. But at least you're making a conscious choice to watch your movies in English. That's more than you can say for the majority of Germans. I find that admirable.

Yeah, I know that, I saw it in German last year during my visit in Trier. It's just that I can understand German mumblings way easier than English mumbling. wink

TeeJay wrote:

Wow, thanks. wink Yeah, nowadays I love being able to watch movies in English. It's not only about learning English, it's also about the voices. I hate that the Germans always have to give the actors these high-pitched voices. Take David Krumholtz for example. He has such a great voice. I mean, it's not very deep of course but his German dubbing voices makes him sound like he's in mutation or something like that. roll Way too high. What I find strange is that the man who dubbs David Krumholtz is way older than him. But he sounds a lot younger, if you ask me.
And I HATE the fact that they always give children such squeaky voices. That's annoying. The original voices of those children aren't squeaky at all, why do they have to give them those voices? At least my English is now good enough to follow the story of the movies or TV shows I watch in English. I still don't get everything, but I'm working on that by practising a lot. And thank God I still can watch it in German if it's too difficult. This is why I actually look forward seeing Alpha Dog soon. I'm just worried about Chris's German voice a little. I hope it won't be as high-pitched as always.

Oh, and do you know what I also do to improve my English? Since I'm currently reading Harry Potter in English I thought it would be a good idea to listen to the audio books while reading. I even notices some differencies between the British and the American versions which were not included in that website I found a few months ago. It's still hard to follow the story sometimes but if it's getting too hard I still can ask Elli to have a look in her German books.

Oh, and here's another language rant: I convinced my mom to buy The Green Mile on DVD and a few days ago we watched it together. German, though. I said I wanted to watch it in English because of Michael Clarke Duncan's voice. I honestly never heard a voice so deep like his. When I watched his CSI NY episode I thought something like wow, that man must speak from somewhere deep in his stomach. LOL

I don't think he was skinnier in GND than he was in AD.

I totally disagree.  He looked tiny as Eli.  Let's see that side by side by side comparison of all three half-naked characters I've always wanted to see.
