Re: Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

I haven't seen it.  What's it called?  It's funny, he was so messed up on PP last night, I had to watch the 4th repeat of Restless in 3 days on Logo before I went to bed.  I needed to think of him as my big, squishy Comfortador, not some horrible, insane rapist.

Hmmm.  Never even heard of that one.  Have you seen Celeste in the City?  He plays a flaming gay man in that one and he's ADORABLE.

He's also in a few episodes of Criminal Minds in the early seasons.  He in Charisma Carpenter did an ABC family movie too a a few years ago called Relative Chaos: http://www.tvguide.com/celebrities/char … 8312/47631.  I kind of wanted to see it but didn't get the chance to.

I loved the one that Emma Caulfield and Jason Priestly were in: I Want to Marry Ryan Banks.  I watch it each time its on! smile Puts me in a good mood!

Ooh, I'd love to see Nicky and Charisma together again!  And I'm really enjoying Emma's role on Life Unexpected. Though it looks like the series has been canceled now.  Very sad.

Re: Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

I saw Celeste in the city, but it was couple of years ago. I only remember that I liked it. smile Other than that, I'm waaaaay behind on follwoing the careers of my Buffy-stars. Hard to get my hands into their stuff all the way out here. I know Charisma has a wife-part in the Expendables. That I can probably see.
Oh I just googled Relative Chaos and learned that it's on TV here on Christmas eve. smile Chris Gorham is in it too. Oh goody! tongue

Eliza Dushku to be on no tnt series:

Re: Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

I'm bored as you can see trying to find any info about a Dollhouse Comic book?  I know they had some specials on the season 2 dvd, that I have not purchased yet. I heard rumours that they will start a dollhouse comic as they did the buffy ones.  my sister enjoys reading the buffy ones - never misses them!

Re: Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

I've heard those Buffy comics are awesome, but I've never read one.  I sure hope this new show for Eliza is a good one.  She hardly ever gets material that's equal to her talent.  I loved Tru Calling, but just couldn't get into Dollhouse.

Re: Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

OK, this article is pissing me off.  It's getting all kinds of things wrong that no actual Buffy fan would ever boof:

Luke Perry was Pike, not Spike.  And he was NOT a greaser.

Hello!  SMG is taking time off to be a mom, not failing to have a career.

Willow had FROG fear, not a fear of dogs.  She dated a werewolf for fuck sake!  I'm sorry, this is ridiculous.  And she was a "goth-dork"?  When???

Giles was NOT the TV version of Merrick.  Merrick (played by Richard Reihl) was the TV version of Merrick.  Giles is a completely different character.  And ASH has been low-profile since Buffy?  Only if you don't have BBC America!  These clowns act like he can't get work.  He's done a TON of TV work in the UK, including hit shows like Little Britain and Manchild.

Let's not bother to mention that James Marsters was one of the stars of Caprica either.

Don't even get me started on how little they know about Emma Caulfield.  She has also worked steadily since BtVS went dark.  Let's keep up the myth that these people have mostly faded into obscurity.

Same bullshit about Marc Blucas too.  He's been working steadily since he left Buffy.  He was just on Law & Order: Los Angeles a few weeks ago.  And I have to mention his wonderful turn as Animal in Prey For Rock-N-Roll.

"Maclay, the human witch turned lesbian on-screen" --- excuse me?  What the heck does that mean?  Sounds like they're referring to Willow, not Tara.  Tara never "turned" anything.  And the way that sentence reads, once you become a lesbian, you're no longer human.

Why couldn't they have let someone who actually knows what the hell they're talking about write that article?

Re: Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

After they got stuff so wrong on the first couple of people, I went over the rest of it with a fine tooth comb.  The Internet is a terrible place for people writing articles with authority that they simply do not have.  It's sad.

Sarah Michelle Gellar to appear in new CBS series called 'Ringer' showing in May.

Here is a synopsis of her new show from tvguide.com:

Re: Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

They recently announced a former Buffy actress to attend RingCon this year. Probably not really interesting for you but I thought I'd mention it here. She used to play Cordelia and I was kind of ashamed that I didn't remember her character. At all. Sorry.

I always liked Cordelia, more seo when she was on Angel.  That's good to hear Buffy actors are still attending those events.

Re: Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

It's funny, I came into the Whedonverse very specifically at S4 ep New Moon Rising.  Having always liked the guy since he was a little kid, I had become a huge fan of Seth Green.  Oz had been gone for a while, I tuned in to that ep to see him return.  I was also intrigued by the idea of this burgeoning Willow/Tara thing so I wanted to see it.  I loved that ep.  I never stopped watching the show after that ep and just became a complete nut for BtVS.  By then, Angel and Cordy were gone, so it wasn't until later when I saw the show in FX repeats from the beginning that I got intrigued with Angel and started watching the repeats of that show on TNT and the new eps on Fox.  I fell mad for the whole Buffyverse.  I think we all eventually fell for Cordy, some at different times.  For me it was Angel S3 when she and Angel were falling in love.  That's the season I came into that show on.  It's still my favorite.  I adored the whole Hotlz/Justine/Connor vengeancy storyline thing.  But good grief that following year the Cordy/Connor ship totally wrecked her.  Cuz, ewww.  It was nice when they brought her back and killed her off in S5 though.  tongue

Well, it's just that it's been years since I saw both shows for the last time and I watched so many other shows and movies since then, my brain is probably too small to remember everyone! LOL But I used to love Buffy and Angel. Really. And I still do. I should find a way to watch them again ....

Re: Welcome to the Whedonverse (Buffy/Angel/Etc Appreciation)

I'm half way through season 2 of Angel on this little Angel marathon I've been having for few weeks. It's become a habbit to watch a couple of episodes every morning with my tea and breakfast. smile Very much enjoying. I love that I finally found a place online where I can watch it. I've got nothing to play DVDs on..

I hope you enjoy it, Mel.  It gets way, way, way better as it goes along.  I think from Season 3 on, it's just spectacular.  But Season 2 is also fantastic, especially the way it ends.  HUGE emotions.

I need to find a place near here where I could rent the Buffy DVDs from. I would love to see the show again, especially in English.
