How Martha Masters came to be and how the character is based on her real-life best friend:
The character of Martha Masters was originally just an idea. David Shore and Katy Jacobs had come to me and said, "Hey, we want to write a character for you. Are you interested?" I said, "Yes!" Then, it wasn't until I signed on to do a bunch of episodes that I finally got to see the script. It was a very personal thing to me because my character is based on my real-life best friend, who is a med student and whose real name is Martha Masters. In fact, they made her sign a release that she wouldn't sue Fox. It's pretty hilarious.
She is a med student and she's very much like this character. I'm not saying anything out-of-turn or mean about her, but she's incredibly brilliant, but sometimes she can be very socially awkward. So, I think the fact that David Shore still has never met the real Martha Masters and has written this character so much like her is just amazing.

So stop the hating the name! It's a real person!

PS. There's also a real-life classical guitarist name Martha Masters. The crazy thing is: she has the exact same haircut as Amber in those House pics! I need to find her music. Always interested in good guitar music. ♪♫

I'm so excited to see Amber on House!

Oh, and I had kind of a funny experience today at my local DVD store ... I went there to look if they have Beyond A Reasonable Doubt, which they did have but they wanted 12 bucks, and that's waaaay too expensive for me for a Geman DVD. So I went on to look for Boy A and The Cake Eaters, but couldn't find any of those (the store sucks!).
Instead I found out that Spiral has come out in Germany by now! I didn't know that and I think it's kind of cool, although they renamed it "The Spiral" for Germany and they also added "Tödliches Geheimnis" to it, which means "Deathly Secret". Oh well, I'll never get this rename thing.

I read an article (in TVGuide, I think) that said the character is based on a friend of hers who's name is Martha Meredith Masters. So I think it was her idea.

I realized I'm so far behind on house, I've got to start from season five or something like that to catch up if I don't wanna spoil myself from some House/Cuddy-plots. or something. I just might watch the Amber eps anyway and just wait for House to start on FinnTV again.
