Re: Amber Tamblyn

OK, I finally watched Beyond A Reasonable Doubt.  I can understand why people aren't that impressed with it.  Jesse Metcalfe was kind of weak.  Many actors I could name would've knocked a role like that out of the park.  He's pretty to look at, but I didn't buy him at any point. And his massive chest was distracting.  I really loved Joel David Moore, though.  As always.  The story was a bit cliched and sluggish in places.  And I found the weird lighting tiresome.  I know Peter Hyams was going for a modern take on the film noir style of the original, but it was so overwrought sometimes.

All that said, I thought Amber was magnificent as a really cool femme fatale.  She did everything they asked her to, hit all those notes.  And got the last word.  Just brilliant work from her.

I wouldn't mind having a copy of it one day.

Re: Amber Tamblyn

OK, so for as little as I was impressed by BARD, I find myself looking for pics of the love scene because it was rather yummy.  Not finding anything so far, but isn't this pretty?

Re: Amber Tamblyn

i felt cold and unamused after watching Paranormal activity. Probably just because i don't like moies where they don't use music as a tool. I get bored and depressed. heh. but maybe I'll check some pieces of 2 if she's in it.

I still haven't seen Amber's House-episodes. We finns are so far behind. I should watch about 2-3 seasons online to catch up.

Re: Amber Tamblyn

So I guess House won some People's Choice Awards last night.  That's nice.  It means that even after all these years people still love that show.  And that they didn't quit watching when Olivia Wilde left.  That's a wonderful thing for Amber.  I read a couple of days ago that Olivia is considering not returning to the show because she keeps booking one movie after another.  That could be another great thing for Amber.  We'll have to see how that one plays out...

Re: Amber Tamblyn

Yeah, seeing House win was great! It's such a cool show, still. That would be great if we could see more of Amber in it.

Edit: Did you know Amber is currently in Africa? Or actually, I don't know if she's still there but she said in her (new) blog she was going there. I just checked her blog, and she posted something about her New Year's Eve. She must be having a great time there. I am so jealous! LOL Everyone is traveling abroad at the moment, why can't I? *sigh*

Re: Amber Tamblyn

Bad time to bring up that I have left Vienna and made it to Munich now? I love traveling but honestly getting over living out of my backpack with limited privacy... Will be nice to get home, though I still have SOOO much that I want to see and do while I am over here. Europe is so beautiful and lovely and countries are so close together! Hahaha I can get on a train back home travel for hours and still not even be in another state...its bizzare to me that 4 hours on a train and I can go from Prague to Vienna and then another 4 hours and its Vienna to Munich....weird....

Re: Amber Tamblyn

I am still jealous, Kate! LOL I'd love to travel the world with a backpack, like you do at the moment! But somehow I either don't have the time OR I'm too short on money ... and you need both at the same time to be able to travel, I know! I guess I am cursed here. sad Let's hope I'll at least make it to Vienna one day in near future. I have seen a few places in Europe and I even went to China once, but that was just holidays, not actual traveling.
I do have a plan for my 30iest birthday though, I'd like to go to New York for that one ... don't know if that'll work out, though. As it looks now I'm going to need a shipload of money for that and I have only two years to save money. At least it's going to be two years soon enough ... neutral

Re: Amber Tamblyn

There was disappointingly very little interaction between Amber and Sprague on House tonight.  They didn't get to actually talk to each other.  It's a huge bummer that none of the writers on either this show or Criminal Minds knew enough to throw JoA fans a bone and just let our cast have some work to do together.

Isn't House an ABC show? Maybe they don't even know they were in JoA.

Re: Amber Tamblyn

Fox, actually.  Network doesn't matter as much as production company.  It's probable that the writers didn't know when they wrote the ep, and that the casting directors didn't know when they cast Sprague.  But you just know that once those two got onset together hilarity ensued.  At that point, they could've have easily thrown in a little something for them to play off each other.  TV writers and directors do that stuff ALL the time.  They generally love in-jokes.

Whoops, I think I mixed Fox and ABC up. Probably because I am used to ABC as a "medical" network. LOL

Re: Amber Tamblyn

It totally is!  They have another new Shonda Rimes show called Off The Map.  It's not bad.  The locations are gorgeous since they shoot in the same area of Hawaii where Lost was shot.  But to be honest, if Zach Gilford was not in the cast, I might not've been very keen on it.

You know what, I actually downloaded the first episode of Off The Map because Rachelle Lefevre's in it. I haven't watched more than the first few minutes yet, but I'm definitely going to check it out soon.
