Well I only know very broadly where you are from... But I was in the UK for 3 weeks, went through London and Liverpool in England though. Is that close to you?

Re: Fanboys

I think it would be amusing to hear the dubbed voices....well at least once. I cant see it being a regular thing, but amusing for the first time anyway

Re: Fanboys

Whoops, just checked the website again, and now it says 7 bucks. Well, still tempting. But I just HATE the dubbing voices! Trust me, you wouldn't like to hear them, Kate. They're just AWFUL!!! yikes
My aversion against dubbed stuff developed so far by now, I even hate German DVD covers. That's why I like to order American DVDs online. I know it's crazy but in this case I am like that. LOL If only CD-WOW would lower the prize. I'd order it right now. *sigh*

Re: Fanboys

Its sad though, most of the Germans I have met speak English fantastically, although most were in cities and generally mid twenties at the oldest....so I dunno...but I would have thought there would be a bigger market for the originals to be produced. BTW I still loved Germany....honestly between Berlin and Munich it is easily one of my favourite countries!

Re: Fanboys

Maybe the problem is that the majority of Germans is older then 30 years and they never learned English properly or something like that. LOL Or maybe it's because the OV theatres are only in places where there is still some foreign military stuff. Like Stuttgart has a few of those still. My mom and I used to go to this American base where they played theatre. It was fun and I was able to talk some English. The sad thing is, when we went there I was still too young to really talk to the people and my English wasn't as great as it is now, but nowadays we don't go there anymore. Maybe we should do that again.
I know Berlin and Munich are two beautiful places in Germany, but you haven't seen the place I live in - it's pretty boring and ugly here. LOL

Re: Fanboys

Possibly...maybe with the younger generation coming through though it might get more popular. I can't be sure...Whereabouts in Germany are you from? I know TJ has said she is in the west, but I cant remember whereabouts you are. Stuttgard is just to the west of centre yeah? I always think of Frankfurt as the very centre of Germany and work out from there. I have met many Germans during my travels and have loved all of them. The old-fashioned stereotype of strict and uptight definitely does not fit the younger generations of Germans that I have met. They really are amongst the friendliest people I have met

No, it's more south the centre, I'd say. Stuttgart belongs to the part of South Germany that is NOT Bavaria. Yes, there's a part of the south that's not Bavaria. LOL I know I keep repeating myself, but I'm so annoying that most foreign people think South Germany = Bavaria. It's not! I'm not a Bavarian! LOL
Well, back to topic. I think Frankfurt works as the centre of Germany, yeah. Of course Stuttgart is not that popular in the world, although it has a pretty big airport. You can even fly directly to Atlanta, I found that out recently. wink

Re: Fanboys

Haha nope, have been really lucky with my travels and see all these things happening where I am on TV but I havent seen any of it! All good. Its ok Anne, I know that not all of south Germany is Bavaria....if it makes you feel any better I actually thought Bavaria was smaller that what it really is before I got to Germany. Haha direct flight to Deb huh? Sounds like a good idea to me!

That's why I said "most"! wink
But hey, I even told Chris that back in 2008. LOL I brought some sweets for him from my area (which is called Schwaben, or Swabia for the English-speaking people) and told him precisely that Swabia is not a part of Bavaria and he promised he'll always remember that. big_smile

Oh, and I've decided to buy the German version of the DVD now, but I'm going to print out the modified cover for it. No way I'm going to use the German one!

Re: Fanboys

What? A cancer comedy? Starring Seth Rogen? But I thought his buddy Apatow's camp firmly believes no one will laugh at cancer. So how does this loud-mouthed lout reconcile being in such a flick? After all, he was famously critical of Star Wars fans for bitching about the effort by TWC to excise the cancer plot from Fanboys. Hypocrisy is so confusing to me.

Guess it's a good thing Harvey won't be able to get his mitts on this movie, huh?

Just came across this Fanboys interview -bit on Youtube. I love that they totally trash the games that greatly contributed into the slow death of my 7 year relationship. I knew Chris was so much better. It seems he likes the games that I could try out. The kind I liked to play when I still played some as a teen. big_smile

Kyle and Jaime are at Skywalker Ranch this weekend.  This was taken there.   Kyle says it's his favorite picture of them together ever.  Awwwww...
