Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

You can post anything you want, Anne.  I don't think people would mind that.  It might get the thread going again.

We only watched one episode.  I can't remember which one, but we were watching it to see how the lifestyles were different and clothing styles were different.  I think for a play that we were doing or something...

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Ah, I see.  That's good then.  Because it's kind of a nighttime soap in a way.  There are some naughty bits.  Not lewd or anything, but too suggestive for 4th graders.  I remember this one time when Thomas slipped his hand inside Sarah's dress and caressed her breast.  It was kind of hot how she sighed into his hand.  The actors who played those characters are married in real life, John Alderton and Pauline Collins and I'm a huge fan of theirs so that made it all the more so for me.  wink

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I have it on DVD already, thanks to a gift from a friend.  But the new set has new special features.  That's mainly why I want it.  I won't be able to afford it.  Of course.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I joined a video-club in december. So far I've gotten the newes Harry Potter-DVD, Knight and day & the new Karate kid. big_smile We watched Knight and Day yesterday but it was kinda hard to follow with all the chatting and laughing at the actors. I was also mislead by the fact that I mixed the movie with some other trailer I saw last year. I kept waiting for scenes that clearly didn't belong in this movie. big_smile It seemed pretty good anyways.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I am currently thinking about joining this internet DVD club ... it's like the online version of a rental store, just that you don't go there in person and pick the copy up. They send it to you instead and you can keep it as long as you want and send it back when you got tired of the movie.

Yeah, but it's called Lovefilm here. First I thought that sounds a bit "porn-y" (LOL) but then I found out that you can rent all kind of movies from there. wink

I did find it amusing when Jesse Eisenberg mentions that one good thing about Zombieland is nobody updating their Facebook status'. Now look what he's the star of.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Arrived here today:

welcome_to_the_rileys.jpg

It was supposed to come to the German theatres in January (& was at the Berlin Film Festival last year), but for some reason it was postphoned to the end of March. Of course I'm going to see it on big screen too (when it comes to my OV theatre), but I just couldn't wait, so I asked my "source" to send it to me.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Yeah, I heard it got only a limited release in America. Oh, and I just read they moved the German release to April 7. That's actually great since I might be able to see it on Kristen's birthday on big screen! I love that idea! Now all I have to do is hoping my theatre will have it by then.
I already watched the Featurette and the first 15 minutes of the movie. Can't wait to see the rest.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I should feel so ashamed of myself! I made the most impulsive purchase today ... but I just couldn't resist. *sigh* It said this was a limited first edition with four alternate covers ... :embarrassed:

IMG_1522.jpg

I got the feeling I might know what the other three covers would look like since I've seen pictures of the Target Special Editions ...

You have three guesses which one I chose tongue:

My sister and her boyfriend got me the Lord of the Rings collection on blu ray - it's pretty awesome!  Out of all the blu ray dvd's I've seen - its the only one where I've been able to see a big picture difference.

It's not really a purchase, but I won the DVD of The Caller (a Stephen Moyer film) a few weeks ago.
Oh, and I bought Secretariat on DVD while in Austria for the New Year.
