I'm all for you getting to see the movie in one of your Wednesday sneaks before we do. Then, you will no doubt torture me the way I have tortured you.

A Sneak Preview would be very cool, although I doubt that I would have the luck to catch exactly THAT movie. As far as I know myself I'd have to watch some other stupid movie ...

Yeah, I'm prepared to have to sit through four completely crap movies for the next four weeks. And pay money for them, no less. But I'm open, maybe there's gonna be something decent among them. At least they'll be in English, no matter what.

I'd love to go to sneak previews more often, but I just don't have the money, you know. I have to choose carefully what movies I am going to watch in the theatres. But I'll definitely look out if they show it English somewhere. There could be a small chance. And if it works and I can catch the Original version I'll watch it first. I just wanna see if I still need the German version. Could be that I'll only need subtitles or not even them. That would be so cool. And since I was very good at understanding Alpha Dog even without subtitles, I really wanna try The Invisible too.

Here's to me having to sit through another three crap movies they show as sneak preview. Because tonight's was crap. Wild Hogs. Okay, it could have been worse, I guess. It wasn't so bad that I wanted to walk out, but it was bad enough for me think: Damn, you wasted 4.50 EUR on this! Well, I don't really have a lot of hope for them to show TI in the next three weeks, but you know what they say: The hope dies last (or at least that's what they say in Germany).
The thing is that they obviously only now changed the release date from an anticipated August date to a middle of May date. That gives them barely a month to advertise this movie. Because there is no advertising out yet whatsoever. I don't think this movie is on anyone's radar or agenda right now. They better do something soon. And they probably have their sneak preview schedule worked out weeks in advance, so cramming TI into an April slot seems unlikely. I'm still gonna go every Wednesday that I can until I fly to Oz, or die trying.

Wild Hogs.
Oh God. That's the new movie with John Travolta and Tim Allen, right? I don't think I'll watch this. LOL I mean, I like Tim Allen, but only in Home Improvement.

Yes, that's the one. It was crap. You don't need to watch it.

Not sure if this is the final German movie poster, but it might be:
I think it says "Zwischen zwei Welten" below the title, which means "In between two worlds".
You can also watch the trailer in German on the German Buena Vista site:

Chris's voice is way too high. Wanna listen? Here's the little snippet. In English it's where he says: "So, we gonna go to Eva's party tomorrow night?" In German he says: "Geh'n wir morgen Abend auf Evas Party?" which means the same thing.

As usual with an external link, nothing's showing up but a red X. Can you put it on our server and fix the link?

I fixed it. I don't think it's external links in general, it's just that some sites don't allow so-called hot-linking (= direct linking to images on their site).

Yeah, that's also true. But when will they stop giving Chris a high-pitched voice? I mean, did they even listen to his original voice? I bet they didn't.

My more pressing question is: When will Chris be well-known enough in Germany that he gets a fixed voice, and not a different one with each movie???
You know, that poster might not be the final one for Germany. I bet they also do the same one than the US one (the one with the rain), only with the German title. They better start putting posters up soon, they only have a month left to advertise this thing. I just hope it doesn't flop in Germany because they didn't have the chance to get the word out to the public.

Went to another sneak preview tonight. No TI, of course. No Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles either, luckily (because I was kinda expecting them to show that one). This week it was Shooter. Not too bad. Wouldn't have paid for this one either, but at least it was good old action entertainment. If MBM is halfway as entertaining as this, I'm gonna like it.
There were no posters or trailers for TI anywhere. It's like this movie doesn't exist yet. For the life of me, I can't figure out who made the decision to move it forward. No one in Germany is gonna know anything about this movie. It's totally gonna trickle into nothingness when they start showing it. If it was a marketing decision to move it forward, then they pretty damn well should have thought about how they wanted to promote the hell out of it with only a month to go before they made that decision. Obviously they didn't. Anne, are there any spots on German TV? I wouldn't know because I don't watch German TV.
It probably won't even be in the free monthly Cinestar theater magazine because the decision to move it forward was made so late. And pretty much every movie is in this magazine. I mustn't forget to grab a copy next time I'm there. Which will probably be same time next week to see another movie I didn't really want to watch.

Shooter, that's Mark Wahlberg's new movie, right? I remember seeing something on TV about it.
I really want to check out Freedom Writers soon, but they're not showing it at the theater in LB. WTF??? Why do I ALWAYS have to go to Stuttgart to see the good movies? Why do they only show the crap movies where I live?

Yes, Mark Wahlberg all right. Not really my kinda guy, but his acting was pretty good. What movie from the previews interests me way more is "Fracture". Heard anyting about that one, Deb? Anyone? Ryan Gosling and Anthony Hopkins. Almost can't go wrong from there, can you? It seemed like a great thriller from the trailer.

I'm not sure what to make of Fracture because they're selling it like it's another sequel to Silence Of The Lambs or something, with scenes of Gosling interviewing Hopkins. Now I dig both of those actors so I'd probably like the movie, but I will not be going and paying money I don't have to see it. I'll wait for cable.

Looks like they finally came up with the German version of the rain poster:
It really irks me that they're not pushing the movie in Germany at all. There's a link to www.movie.de on the poster (which is the German Buena Vista website), but there is nothing on the website for the movie unless you go to the trailers section. It's not listed under "upcoming movies" and it's not advertised anywhere.
While this is not only bad for the movie in general, it's also bad for me. I always assumed that this movie was gonna be marketed well in Germany and would have a broad audience, thus the chances for some theater to show it in English wouldn't be too low. The way it's not being advertised anywhere right now, I seriously doubt they'll show the movie without dubbing anywhere if they keep a low profile with it over here. Which means, Deb, you're really gonna suffer a long and painful wait to discuss this with me. I will have to wait for the DVD then, because I'm not gonna watch it in German. Unless I can take a trip to the Netherlands or something. But let's just see how it turns out. However, at this point I seriously doubt it'll be shown in Düsseldorf and it'd have to be a huge stroke of luck for it to come to Cologne. Suck suck suck.
I just tried to send a message to Buena Vista on their website, but somehow it's not working. it keeps telling me to enter a message text, even though there is one! I'll try again from home with another browser. I'm beginning to despise the lot of them!

That SUCKS!!!
When will they learn that they have to promote the movies better in Germny?
Anyway, if the movie's going to be shown somewhere here (LB or Stuttgart), I will watch the German version. I definitely have to support it. And I doubt that they'll show it in English here. So I'll wait for the DVD.

I see a trip to the Netherlands coming in May or June or whenever. The theater in Cologne doesn't list TI in their May schedule, so it's a safe bet they won't show it. I'm not getting my hopes up for the theater in Düsseldorf since they never show movies anymore that I wanna see. There's only two or three other theaters around here I know that show movies in English, and they always show only one movie one day a week, and always weeks after the release. So I guess this will have to be the Chris movie I take a long trip for or else wait for the DVD. Bummer. There's also no saying when and where it'll show in the Netherlands. What good is an early German release date to me now? And here I thought it wouldn't be a problem to see this movie in English around this area, and no way in hell AD would be shown without dubbing. Never thought it would turn out the other way round. <sigh>
