Re: New Shows 2011

Mel, I would say AHS is a bit like True Blood, only with ghosts instead of vampires.  Anything can happen and it usually does.  tongue

Re: New Shows 2011

lol that show sounds interesting.  Recording it.

Cappugirl: I agree that between Grimm & Once Upon a Time its an overdose of Fairy Tale stuff.  I think too that Grimm is based off the supernatural episode, for sure!  I think I like Once Upon a time a bit better.

Re: New Shows 2011

I think I like Grimm over Once upon time. Maybe because it's so close to Supernatural's image. or the general things that pulls me into fantasy/horror shows. OUT is too sweet and kiddy like to me. it's so out for me. lol. might let a few epiosdes run by and then have them as a minithon. maybe it will seem better then.

Kristin Bauer from True Blood was in an episode of Once Upon A Time recently. I might check that one out. I love her as Pam.

Re: New Shows 2011

That would be awesome. I love JGL.... but I bet he's too busy with his blossoming movie career wink that's good for us though.  I'll have to check it out.  I've watched Last Man Standing with Tim Allen.  I was a big home improvement fan and this is pretty much the exact same thing accept instead of 3 boys, its 3 girls, and instead of having a home improvement show he works at an outdoor store.  Its pretty much the same concept.  IT was weird at first actually but I have to admit its catching on to me...

Re: New Shows 2011

I liked Home improvement too. not religiously or anything but if I happened to catch it on TV, I had to see it to the end. of course I also had crushes on the boys. that one guy in particular. can't remember his name now... Jonathan Taylor Thomas? I was a teenager then... how's he now days? big_smile *lurks to IMDB*

Re: New Shows 2011

Actually I have to admit I didn't really check out any of the new shows this year, nexcept New Girl. I was so busy with my old shows and True Blood. LOL It's a shame, I know. I probably missed a ton of stuff I would actually like.

Re: New Shows 2011

Alcatraz is kind of cool.  Not completely sold yet, but the first two eps aired tonight and I was entertained.  Not sure about the lead chick yet, though.  And come on, you just knew they wouldn't hire Parminder Nagra only to kill her off after 90 minutes of TV, so...

I feel the same way Deb... I definitely got suckered into Alcatraz quickly.  The music and flashbacks remind me a lot of Lost, even the character 'Jack'.  I'll definitely stay tuned into it.

I have to admit, the new Chelsea Handler comedy is pretty funny too -- although Laura Prepon's performance of chelsea is little too dry for me compared to the rest of the cast.

Re: New Shows 2011

One of my friends told me she couldn't make it past the first ten minutes of Alcatraz. I'm not sure I wanna check it out... I also heard there's a new show with Kiefer Sutherland coming up? I'm kinda out of touch with the mid-season shows coming up. I've kinda been sucked into Bomb Girls, a six-episode Canadian show that is all kinds of wonderful. I've written weekly reviews for it, and today it just so happened that one of the show's creators contacted me, commending my reviews and insights. I was all.... whoa! That totally made my day! lol

Re: New Shows 2011

The Kiefer show is already on, though I'm behind on it.  It's called Touch.  I liked it very much, but it conflicts.  Alcatraz is not great, by any stretch of the imagination, but I like the cast.

I recently started (finally!) watching Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey. Both great shows, though you can't really compare them.
