Re: New Shows 2011

I hate to admit I'm into alcatraz.  It's exactly like Lost I know accept in alcatraz instead of an exotic island, but maybe I like it because its so much like lost!  The main leads are growing on me.

Re: New Shows 2011

I watched the pilot of Touch last night, and I really liked it. Though what's with the two month break between episodes 1 and the rest? I was getting all excited about catching up on the stuff that had aired in the meantime, only to find out that the second episode isn't going to air for another two weeks. Hmpf. Next I'm gonna check out the pilot of Alcatraz.

EDIT: Hm, not too sure about Alcatraz. I'm not all that impressed with the pilot. I'll probably keep watching, though. And I will say that I had zero knowledge what the show was about (I mean other than about Alcatraz prison), and I didn't know who was gonna be in it. And then there's the first scene, and the voice-over, and I'm like, "Hey, that's Sam Neill's voice, right?" And it was. I'm such a geek.

They airing of Touch a few months back was called a "preview".  It starts for real tonight.

You sure? My TV calendar says episode 1x02 airs on March 22, and then new episodes every Thursday night.

Re: New Shows 2011

I think they moved the date around a little bit. It was set to air earlier initially, so maybe the 11th was their initial plan.

Re: New Shows 2011

I just dug around a little, and it looks like both Alcatraz and Breaking In are likely to be cancelled. I was also surprised to see that Terra Nova has been cancelled. Nikita (my Outerbridge show) is also on the brink of being cancelled, and I'm pretty sure Ringer won't get renewed either. Guess I need to find myself some new shows this year. *sigh* Though, really, I must say I wasn't impressed with Breaking In's season debut. I haven't seen last night's episode yet, but somehow I found that the season premiere wasn't all that funny. At least Bomb Girls and White Collar will get another season.

Re: New Shows 2011

Didn't I tell you Terra Nova had no shot?  I'm actually shocked it lasted as long as it did.  Too expensive and too conventional.

Just started watching Game of Thrones and Downtown Abbey over the weekend.  Love both, but Downtown Abbey is more my speed.

Not exactly a "new" show, but I checked out New Amsterdam, a shortlived show from 2008. It has only 8 episodes, but I liked it.

Wow, how did I miss this post? LOL I checked out both shows a couple of months ago, but I became more obsessed with GoT. I love Jaime. LOL I do watch Downton Abbey too, though.

Re: New Shows 2011

I'm behind on Game of Thrones.  I have a feeling I'll watch it during the summer, its a little too serious for me to watch right now with work and everything.  Downtown Abbey is much more appealing! I still have about 3 episodes left in the first season.

I did enjoy 'The River' did anyone catch that?  I watched them all at once, or at least 5 in a row (thanks to dvr) and it was the way to watch them.  I'll check it out again if it comes back on.

Has anyone watched scandal?

Re: New Shows 2011

I'm so much in love with GoT at the moment, I hardly watch anything else. I also started reading the books last week, and well, I am in looooove! I'm even more obsessed with those books than I was with the Twilight ones. LOL

Re: New Shows 2011

I'm kinda miffed because all my favorite new shows from last season were cancelled. Breaking In (again), Ringer, Awake, Unforgettable, Alcatraz (no surprise there, though) and A Gifted Man. And the new lineup for this year looks terrible. I think I'm going to be watching a lot less TV this year (which might not be such a bad thing).

I'm looking forward to Elementary & Nashville.  It's all about the casting.

Re: New Shows 2011

Yeah, I'm gonna have to boycott Elementary. Cause Sherlock BBC is just too good and too original to be made into an Americanized remake. And what's with giving Sherlock a British accent in the US version? The cast doesn't hold an interest for me either. And, yes, I know, I'm a hypocrite because I'm watching Being Human US, but that was Sam H's fault and I've never seen the UK original.

Re: New Shows 2011

I wouldn't care if not for the cast.  Never been into Sherlock.  I love the movies also because of the cast though.

Re: New Shows 2011

I was encouraged to watch Sherlock only two or three months ago. And so I did and pretty much fell in love with it right away. And just to avoid confusion, I'm not talking about the movies with Robert Downey Jr. I mean the BBC series with Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Re: New Shows 2011

I know.  I'm saying I don't care for those stories at all.  But I love the movies in spite of that because I love RDJ & Jude Law.  And I'll watch Elementary because I love Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu.
