Well, I am definitely not going to see it six times, but yeah, I hope I'll like it too.

Re: The Invisible

That's cool, Anne! I'm happy for you!! Dee, I know, I could go and watch it dubbed. But it's this thing I have. I literally really hate the dubbing. I never go watch movies in German, or at least not when I have to pay money for it. I just don't enjoy them. And the sheer thought of having to watch Chris with some voice that doesn't sound anything like him when I haven't seen the English version before is just not something I wanna put myself through. Call me stubborn.

I did watch Just Friends in the theater dubbed into German. Even paid money for it. But that was after I'd seen the DVD a few times and knew I could go back home and just pop the English version in. Plus JF wasn't a movie I wanted to see for the movie itself. I just wanted to it for the visual content because then I had never seen Chris on a big movie screen before.

Re: The Invisible

Well, I don't want to watch it dubbed either, but since they're not showing it undubbed here and I do not want to wait forever until Fanboys hits the German screens I decided that The Invisible will be my Big Screen debut with Chris, German or not. I can still watch the Original version on DVD afterwards.

Re: The Invisible

I think this is different than the other video interviews we have.  But I don't have sound at work so I'm not positive.  But it has deleted footage in it of the old man and maybe even a quick shot of Pete going after Nick's money stash.  I'll watch it again with sound when I get home:

Re: The Invisible

It's too dark to really tell.  The reason I'm guessing it's Pete is because at no time in the movie as it was released do we see a shot of Nick's stash from that angle, over someone's shoulder, kind of in the dark.  That scenario fits with Pete swiping his money to escape.  I'll see if I can tell when I watch the video on good resolution at home.  But thanks for trying, Ms. Detective.  wink

Re: The Invisible

I can't tell whose hands those are. But it's indeed an interview we haven't posted yet. Chris says something about them mixing the drama and the sci-fi/supernatural aspect and that he thought it was cool they found a way to put them together into one movie.

Found a new interview that I don't think we've seen yet. Shame I won't have time to read it right away:

Re: The Invisible

I didn't know that I am living in such a crap area. They cancelled TI again in Ludwigsburg! I think they had it for just three days or something, because last week they had it on their website, but I did not have the time to go and now, this week, when I do have time, it doesn't show up there anymore. Crap theatres. They don't know which films are the good ones.
I think I am going to wait for the DVD now.

Re: The Invisible

Was it too optimistic to post my (hopefully halfway intelligent) review about the movie on IMDb and expect someone to actually respond? neutral Guess it was missing me saying that Justin Chatwin is cute (which is not my opinion) or that Marcia Gay Harden's performance sucked (which is also not my opinion) or that I thought Chris as Pete was totally pathetic (which is of course also not my opinion).

The only two decent IMDb boards I've been on are the Alpha Dog one (post troll-ban, that is) and Chris's, it seems. How sad is that?

Re: The Invisible

TeeJay, you write in complete sentences and have something to say.  It's OVER their heads!  Come on, what did you expect?  The little girls don't care because you didn't want Nick & Annie to hook up.  And the surly teenage boys hated the movie anyway.  Besides, like I said, that board is dying.  The movie's gone now.  Maybe it'll light up again when the DVD comes out.

Re: The Invisible

The movie was never really there to begin with, was it? Interestingly, I was trying to unwind from work for 10 minutes earlier and ended up reading a few reviews on amazon.com. They all pretty much trashed the movie. Well, not in a horribly insulting way, but they all said that a) this movie is something of a poster child for false advertising (which I agree with a 100%) and b) that is was nothing more than mediocre, much too dark and depressing and scratched too much on the surface. Which I also agree with. Someone said that with another director, this could have turned out a good movie. That may be true, but I think actually this is more Disney's than Goyer's fault, is it?

I agree here. Well, I stil haven't seen the movie, but I'll buy the DVD anyway. It's Chris's work that counts for me, and not what somebody said on imdb.

Re: The Invisible

I don't know who's fault it is.  But I do know that Goyer lied about not changing the ending from the Swedish version in all the interviews he gave.  In fact, I distinctly remember him saying he went even bolder with it.  NOT!  So maybe they changed the ending AFTER he gave all those interviews back in December, when it was still slated for a January release?  I did notice in once scene that it looked like Chatwin was wearing a wig. And as we've seen, his hair has been super-short for the last year or so.  Perhaps the "Swedish" ending didn't test well with the kiddies so they reshot it?  That would be Disney's call, not Goyer.

We'll probably never know the real truth.
