Re: Fanboys

Hey Sean, thanks for posting.  Cons never work out perfectly, do they?  One way or another you end up missing at least one thing you really wanted to do.  Ah well.  After watching the Special on G4 last night, I have a flavor of the con from 3000 miles away!

And TeeJay, come on, you know being a Chris fangirl is NOT what Kyle is looking for.  LOL!  We don't stand a chance against all those hardcore SW fans.  They're all so creative and funny, he'll get tons of entries and it'll be damn near impossible to pick just one winner from them.

And don't worry, I was over the whole Mosier thing yesterday, as soon as we got clarification that he only worked on the Smith cameo.

Re: Fanboys

Yeah, I know I'll never stand a chance. Plus I'm pretty sure it's only open for US citizens in the first place. Still, we're gonna love that movie, not only for the Chris parts. I mean, come on, who else has Fanboys t-shirts?

I hope you cleaned up your shirt.  I haven't been able to look at mine since the latest push-back.

The stain washed out okay when I did it manually, I'm sure it'll be gone after the next round of laundry.

Re: Fanboys

Hi guys,

Not sure if you have seen this one, but I found a clip of the Fanboys trailer being shown at the Celebration IV. It's different from the earlier trailer they released.

Re: Fanboys

It's just slightly different from the trailer we already knew, isn't it? But it does have some stuff that I've not seen before. Thanks for posting it!

Re: Fanboys

I like that one a little bit better actually.  It explains more for those who don't know what's happening.  The fans at C4 seemed to enjoy it too.

Re: Fanboys

Found this from someone who was at C4:

Justin
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, they didn't show all of Fanboys. Apparently they are filming one more scene this fall that they felt the movie needed.

We did get to see 45 minutes of assorted scenes and it looked terrific. The jokes were not hideously obvious Star Wars references but actually creative and subtle. There was brief Q&A with the director, writer, producers, Jay Baruchel, and Kristen Bell.

Additionally in the movie: cameos from Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Ray Park (Darth Maul), Danny Trejo, William Shatner, Seth Rogen (he plays two roles) and David Denman. Awesome.

I didn't get to go to the 5-25-77 screening because I was too busy HANGING OUT WITH JAY BARUCHEL. That's right, I said it.

My plan for today was to go to the Fanboys screening (from 3-4:30), go back to the hotel and shower/change into something nicer because my friend was coming to get me after the 5-25-77 screening (at like 7) because I was going out with that friend and several others to a birthday party at a Korean restaurant at 8.

Anyway, after Fanboys, I walked out to the front of the convention center and was waiting for the free bus/shuttle the convention offers to all the major downtown hotels. I was the only one waiting and then I hear a voice ask "this is where the shuttle is, right?" and as I turn around, I try to remember why this voice sounds familiar...and sweet baby James, it's Jay Baruchel asking me this.

After about 10 minutes that basically consisted of me constantly reassuring Jay that Undeclared was awesome and a brief bonding over the notion it is very difficult to get into a car without remote unlock after being so used to remote unlock, a town car pulls out of the underground parking area and up to the curb. The window rolls down and hey, it's Kristen Bell. She asks Jay if he needed a ride and, because anyone would rather ride in a nice chaffeured town car with Kristen Bell than in a bus with me, he obliges. So Kristen hops out so that he can slide in and when she does, I extend my hand to tell Jay "it was nice talking to you" and he says "you have great taste in television" before INTRODUCING ME TO KRISTEN BELL. It was terrifically surreal. P.S., Kristen was the best looking celebrity I've ever seen in person.

I have a picture of Jay and I but it's terrible. My neck looks like I just ate a baby, my eyes are closed, Jay's face is totally obscured by his hat....it's a mess.

Anyway, they pull away and a few minutes later, the bus arrives and I go back to the hotel. My miscalculation of the bus schedule and the fact that I was hopping on a bus in downtown LA at like, 4:45 PM on a Friday led to me being unable to possibly get to the hotel, shower, change, get back to the convention in time for the screening, and then be ready for my friend's birthday dinner. So I just had to skip the 5-25 screening....but I think I came away with a good enough story....I also got a 5-25 pin. Win-win-win.

So they are shooting only one new scene? Is that true, Sean? Geez, a five months pushback for one new scene. What a waste.

I doubt it's only one scene.

Re: Fanboys

On a quick break at work and wanted to say...
Kyle said he wanted to add a few extra "Hilarious" things to the film. He didn't specifically say how many scenes would be shot, but I agree with Deb, there's gotta be more than just one.

Oh, and we've already talked about it and agreed, and they confirmed it as well, it will be rated PG-13 for sure. smile

Re: Fanboys

Thanks for sharing that post TeeJay. It's really awesome that he got to meet Jay and Kristen. I'm a huge fan of both Undeclared and Veronica Mars, so that was cool to read.

Hopefully the new scenes they're shooting are worth it!

Re: Fanboys

I wanted to post a couple of pics here real quick. I decided to sit closer to one of the Big Screens that were on the side , as opposed to sitting right in front of the stage since I wanted a good view of the footage they had to show. Here's a few of the ones I took:

cele3.jpg

They're not the greatest but I still had to share. When I get home tonight, I will try and get some pics up of the comic book. See ya soon!
