I haven't seen General Hospital in a LONG time. I used to watch it on my summers off from school. I loved Lucky Spencer, though I can't remember why. Also, I was obsessed with the Robin and Stone storyline. I don't even remember any specifics, but I was glued to the tv.
Yeah, I have to take back my remark about Taylor possibly looking native with his wig. I've seen other stills and damn, it's atrocious. I was blinded by my desire for Twilight sparkles and cupcakes! I wonder if extensions would have looked better. I read somewhere that the film is kinda low budget so, maybe they just weren't able to afford QUALITY wigs (oxymoron?).
This is REALLY not my kind of movie, but I'm excited to see it. It's the first time I've seen Shia with sex appeal. Haha, it makes me feel wrong, but he's suddenly sexy.
That girl looks more like Rosalie than Nikki Reed does. Nikki's bad dye job (or wig?) makes my heart cry a little!:crying:
Alcohol at 20! Shame, shame... *wags finger & simultaneously sips from flask*
Yeah... I got New Moon and Eclipse, last Friday. I stayed up until 5 am to finish New Moon. Despite my promise to give myself a rest, I picked up Eclipse on Saturday afternoon and finished Sunday night. My friends interrupted me and I got so upset. lol.
Thanks for the welcome! /late.
I had no idea it was their first look at the script. Some of the other actors just seemed so familiar with the dialogue that it was bizarre how... distant (?) Amber and Mary were to it. And agreed, the Adam/Grace/Joan scene was a real loss. You've lost your job because you were doinking Bonnie? So Funny. I think that will be my new signature quote.
I wonder what he did on his birthday. Aside from obviously having an Elmo cake, I mean. ;D
The movie or the book? I did a bit of speed reading and have finished all three. *dork* Don't know how I'll last through this month, so I'm going to re-read them all again. Now, I know what heroin addicts feel like. ;D
Thanks for the suggestion. I want to get into native bands, but don't know where to look. My uncle says that XIT and, I think, Red Earth are good. Did the sample songs on amazon come from Custer Died For Your Sins or The Land Is Your Mother? The first contains his original recordings, but the latter were re-recorded because there's no recording tape (?) available for the original. They're lost to time! All that's left are old LPs. He's not the best singer in the sense that he was well-trained, but my goodness. When I listened to that record, it was like my eyes were being opened for the first time. I want to learn the songs so that I can play them in remembrance of my father. These are probably also from TLIYM, but they're the full songs: http://www.imeem.com/tag/?q=album:Custe … er&f=music "35 More Miles" (not titled "Mama" as I had previously said) is particularly beautiful to me. The struggle it paints for you. My heart weeps. /sappy.
To bring this thread back on topic, I have to mention that I saw this interview that MTV did with Taylor Lautner: http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles … tory.jhtml In the video, there is a half-second clip of him with a long wig on. From the side, I SWEAR, he looks like he could be a younger Adam Beach. That alone may have won me over. Too bad he didn't just grow out his hair. I hope it doesn't look like a bad wig in the film.
lol. That's because Villa Maravilla couldn't play! Striker extraordinaire!
Actually, I'm such a bad fan that as the minutes winded down, I was kinda hoping that Germany would put one through. /fickle?
XD True! I never thought of JoA as romantic comedy. I'm such a snob that the words are almost dirty to me. I've become allergic to Kate Hudson and Matthew Macccoadsofhanhay.
Michael Greyeyes, yes! Make my knees weak. XD Oh, I adore Floyd Westerman. Years and years ago, my dad made me a tape of his first album. I haven't listened to it in a long time because I don't have a tape player anymore, but the song Mama used to make me cry all the time. /sap. I want to learn to play some of his songs on the guitar. ...If I could play my guitar.
I don't listen to any native artists, though some do play at our fair every year (http://www.choctawindianfair.com/). I like The Bastard Fairies, though their lyrics and music are a bit... lacking. The lead singer, Yellow Thunder Woman, is Sioux, I think. Also, I believe that her brother and sister are in some blues (or jazz) band, but I forget the name. ...I feel like I just hijacked this thread. Apologies to the original poster!
I LOVE Spanish football and Villa is such a joy to watch. I get mesmerized. *fangirl* I'm especially happy about the win because maybe now, people will stop talking about the national team like they're losers/can't follow through. I'm sad for Germany, but I couldn't handle those same comments again, if Spain had lost.
Thanks for the link, Teejay! I looked for them once before, but clearly didn't look hard enough. haha.
Good point. I guess I should've gone into film. I could have made the world believe I'm 5'9"!
I don't know why, but 25 seems so adorable to me. haha. I really hope that Fanboys opens up great roles for him. I don't see him as a romantic comedy actor, but it'd be great if he'd get something Amelie-ish. Magical, you know? /dork.
I JUST recently bought Northanger Abbey. I'm a sap for period romances. *swoons*
Man, that's fascinating! I think that the best I can come up of my grandparents is that they had a cotton farm. XD
I must confess that I'm not familiar with a great deal of native actors. There's Adam Beach, of course, but I can't bring myself to watch him on Law & Order. I tried and it just wasn't working for me. I think that he's very talented, though! My cousin met Gary Farmer once when she was going to Haskell Indian School and took a photo with him. Funnily enough, she also met Wes Studi, but didn't take his photo because she didn't know who he was. My family was all ! I can see faces, but right now, my mind is blanking out their names. Remember the ex-boyfriend from Dance Me Outside that was an ex-con? Sexeh! Now, I feel like I need to pull out some native films. I still haven't seen Into the West & Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.
I wonder if his height affects the kinds of roles he gets. I know he's still young, but I wonder if it annoys him to play high school/teen roles.
Yep, that's him! I figured it'd be more appropriate to use a photo of Chris, but I didn't have any. Oh, well. At least this makes me more recognizable. ha.
Anyone can come on reservations. We don't require passports! XD I'm sure that people would have shown up, if word was spread. The filmmakers of Whale Rider found Keisha Castle-Hughes by going to her school to cast the part.
Oh, Jesus. I just looked up his site and it says, "Both of my parents are caucasian. But so many people ask where I get my "tan"? Well I do get a little color from my mothers side of the family coming from the French side. Other than that the rest comes from being out in the sun. " Nice. Instead of an actual Native American (even 1/2 would do, I'm not that picky!), the character goes to a tanned, white boy. WTF, is this the 1950s??
To be honest, I'm new to the Twilight series. I just found out that Taylor is playing Jacob, though I can understand why you'd be annoyed, if you've been hearing this kind of stuff for months. It's just annoying that this is happening more and more. The girl that played Pocahontas in that Colin Farrell movie had a bit of South American indian in her, but was mostly Swedish, I think. Also, there was another movie called Pathfinder (BAD!) and the female lead was a girl of Korean, Irish, & Dutch ancestry. Um? Normally, I wouldn't care what actor got what role, but there's a principle here! I'll stop complaining, though... I guess it's kinda late to start writing letters demanding a change. ;D
My name is Courtney and I'm Mississippi Choctaw. My friend recommended Joan of Arcadia to me so, a few weeks ago, I had a marathon via netflix. Loved Adam, but love Chris more since seeing Just Friends and Alpha Dog. His range and ability to slip into such diverse characters amazes me. Needless to say, I've added more of his films to my queue. I don't really know what else to say about myself... I'm 26 and work at an elementary school, so I'll probably soon lose all will to procreate. lol.
Sounds like it was a good game! I missed it and will have to miss tomorrow's game, too. I'm going to praypraypray that Villa can manage another hat trick because it would just be obscenely amazing. Seriously, I would orgasm. He is the love of my life. *dork*
Gah, I'm so excited for this that I could eat my socks. I just read the first book, last week, and am waiting for the next books to come in the mail. (Should've just gone to walmart!) I'm just annoyed that Taylor Lautner is going to be Jacob. I was really excited to see a young, native actor get a role in this (possible huge) film. Instead, it's this kid that just looks very generically ethnic. Wikipedia claims he's part native, but doesn't even name the tribe? I guess it shouldn't really matter, but it really bothers me. We're such an unrepresented ethnic group so, I feel a little cheated. It makes me wonder how hard they tried to find a native actor. Hey, here's a novel idea. How about trying the tribe, which the actor has to represent? -_-; /rant.
Oh, that makes no sense at all! I say that if it's anyone's fault, it's Mike Meyers. It is his brainchild, after all? (I'm assuming there. It just screams of something he would [& has!] come up with.) I guess no one told the author that correlation does not imply causation. I'm not even really a fan of Timberlake's, but I'm deeply annoyed for him.
It's down to the last three games in the tournament and I wondered if anyone else on here is watching. If so, who are you cheering for? Personally, I'm all about Spain. The night before their last game, I subconsciously used red and yellow rubber bands when I put my hair in pigtails. XD It's an obsession.
The table read was fun to watch. I wish Mary & Amber would've gotten into it more, though. At times, I felt like they were just reading, as opposed to really testing out the material. /make sense? Michael and Aaron were hilarious. They must be so much fun together.
