Have any of you guys gotten in to this show? I've recently become obsessed with it. It's like my JoA obsession all over again. I don't see very many similarities between the two, other than what I believe to be quality humor and lovable characters. (But this is really just my opinion, a few of my friends hate the show.)
Anyway, I was trying to figure out why I kept wanting to relate it to JoA, and I think it's because the two main characters are physicists, not unlike our own Lukey G, and I might just be fascinated by smart men who can spit out science jargon at warp speed. The only explanation I can come up with.
When JoA was on air, it became a hobby of mine to memorize Luke's lengthier lines just for fun, and now I find myself doing it again with this show. Maybe its just a quirk.
You guys like the show?
I have 4 computers in my house. And theres always a ton of library computers people can always use!
Awesome! Vote, vote!
And thanks for the suggestions above, I haven't heard of those women, but will definitely check them out!! I'm always looking for good female drummers, unfortunately, they are few and far in between. Soo excited to check those ones out! Thanks again!!
Yup, soo true. Not to mention people are more likely to tweet a pic of what's going on, than post one on facebook. I'm in love with twitter!!
The contest is open until April 15th, any more votes you could get me, I would be entirely indebted to you for!
I would truly appreciate any more votes.
Thank you guys again so much!!
Thanks so much for the votes guys!! I really appreciate the support. I just found out I need a couple hundred more votes to even be in the running for the competition, so if you have another computer handy, feel free to throw me another vote, I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you guys again!!
I love twitter because you don't get spammed with "friends of friends" vactation photos, status updates etc. I enjoy the JoA cast on twitter more than anyone else, Jason Ritter's puns are hilarious, he tweets a few a week, and they make twitter worth it for me.
Also, in the earlier days of twitter, I was able to follow bands on twitter and when I went to see them live, they'd post invites to hang out with them around the venue they were playing. That fan/star intimacy got me hooked.
My biggest complaint about twitter is the "twitter promoted" ads they tweet. I only get a few a day, but it's kind of annoying to have in your news feed.
Hey guys, just wanted to share my fantastic news, as little as it may be. I tweeted Mary asking her to retweet my message about the drum contest I'm competing in- and she retweeted it! As if that wasn't kind enough, we I tweeted her a 'thank you' for her time, she replied with "xoxox". This woman has always been one of my all time favorite actresses, but she just gained an enormous amount of respect from me! She is soo sweet!!!
Anywho, just wanted to share this with people who enjoy Mary as much as I do. I feel like this is a little JoA community within a Chris community.
Here is Mary's Twitter where you can see her two tweets to me, joanna_batteur

She is such a thoughtful lady!

Hi guys! I am competing in the "Hit Like a Girl" drumming contest, and I need votes to win! I know this is kind of pathetic to be posting about, but I literally need thousands of votes, which is why I'm calling on my fellow Chris fans for help!
I've been kind of inactive on the boards for the last couple months, but I've been dying to get back on, I hope you are all doing well!
Anywho, I hope I don't offend anyone with this shameless self promotion.

Thanks! I really appreciate everyone in this community, I'm so glad it's still going strong!
(and you know, if you want to share this, repost it on fb, twitter, email or anything, that would be AWESOME!!)

Alright, so I recently discovered the fantastic interviews Deb/TeeJay/Anne had with Chris over the last few years, located in the Interviews section. Anyway, I forget which ones, but both Chris and Amber recall playing pranks on each other throughout the filming of the show, where Chris would actually mess with Amber and Michael while they filmed the walking down the hallway scenes by rolling himself, or inanimate objects down off camera, and try to mess them up.
I was just wondering, since hearing these has anyone else noticed a scene in the show where this might have been happening? I'm kind of assuming even though you wouldn't be able to see him on camera, and even if the actors did a good job of masking their reactions, they still wouldn't use those takes. But who knows. Has anyone noticed any hallway scenes where the actors are looking down, or making unusually large stepping gestures? I have been watching those scenes like an eagle looking. Haha.
Anyway, tell me what you see!
By the way..how do you post pictures on here?
I'm sure this comes up a lot, and I know I've read about people talking about it on here. But I wanted to make a thread dedicated to talking about Adam's fantastic fashion sense. If you could call it 'fantastic', because I would! Adam has definitely influenced my style over the years, I was already a hoodie freak when I saw the show, but Adam got me into wearing silver rings and beaded/leather necklaces.
Rewatching season 1 of JoA this week, I've wanted to look for all the jewelry pieces that Adam wears and look at some of my favorite Adam ourfits.

It's really hard to see this necklace, but I love this outfit! I love his gray hoodie and tan jacket combination that he did a lot.

Btw, I'm not sure if anyone has told Chris this, but he looks amazing in red. Just a thought.
Is it Charlie Banks you're saying is permanently in you TiVO? I'm really stuck on that film too. It's on cable a lot and every time I watch it I discover more layers. I adore Chris's performance in it, but I love the movie too. Ritter totally swiped it.
Don't even get me started on Graduation. I love Carl so much I almost want a "CJ" prison tat on my inner forearm. Oh, and BTW, if you're interested, I wrote some Carl/Suzie smut too. It's in the Fan Fic section here.
Yep, Charlie Banks on my Tivo, I haven't seen it in a little while. Chris played such an interesting tough guy, I loved him in that role!
Ah gosh, haha I'd be so down for a CJ tattoo. Lol. Or an Iggy one.
And my goodness did that story hit me. "Why" made me surprise myself of how emotionally drained I could get over ff. Especially when I read that Will and Helen were gone. So painful!
Thanks guys! I suddenly feel soo welcome!
TJ- I hear you, and I truly enjoyed that fic while it lasted!! I haven't gotten into White Collar, but maybe I should, that show has always looked promising. I'm at a bit of a loss with television these days. Since so much of it is poor quality.
And yes, to who asked, I am a Sean Marquette fan! I've only seen a handful of things he's been in, but much like his brother; he's a very entertaining young actor!
Yes, haha, I'm TheCaptian on Fanfiction, and I've been relishing in your writing for the last month, reviewing when I remember to. Ah, and now I can't wait to read some more JoA-goodness here on the boards. I read several last night and am so glad that I decided to join your Chris Community!
-Joanna
Ahhh, so stoked! I've been dying for more of that fantastic Joaniverse!!! I read these at night..while I'm supposed to be sleeping, and it feels as close to JoA as I can get. Sending me off into a JoA universe of thoughtfulness and dreams. Haha. I'm sooo excited to check these out!! You are all such talented writers!
After reading all this fanfiction lately, I had a dream last night that Oxygen (tv channel) was going to air a 6 episode season 3 of JoA to conclude the story. I was sooo excited. Why did I have to wake up?!
Yes, I read the R rated version. I started that R one, felt a little weird..read on with the PG one, was lacking a little of the true nature of the story, and switched back. So beautifully written. Truly wonderful job. You're ability to write for these characters sooo...in character, is outstanding.
-Joanna
Ah, I though so! You ladies are my heroes!! I just finished that epic Butterflies this week!!! My goodness am I in love with that story! Wonderful job in creating your Joaniverse!! That story has been keeping me up reading into the wee hours of the night for the last few weeks! It had soo much emotional depth-and gave me some much needed closure. You writers are just amazing!!!

Alright, this looks like a really fun board, I think I'll jump in!
What's the first thing your ever saw Chris in?
Up, Up, and Away. Although I did see him in Noah when it came out, but I had to watch it again a few years ago to remember that I'd seen it.
What's your favorite thing he's done so far?
Joan of Arcadia. Ahh. By soo much. I miss that show to death.
What's your favorite scene in that movie/show?
Either the end of POV, or Adam's conversation with Helen is Shadows and Light
Who's your favorite Chris character and why?
Adam Rove, that boy stole my heart years ago. But Carl in Graduation is a close second. He's such an interesting guy and I love his high energy quirkiness. Some of his facial expressions are so powerful, and electric especially between him and Suzie.
Do you remember the first time you Googled Chris? What site did you land on?
Nope, but it must have been shortly after I saw Death Be Not Whatever air for the first time. I remember going to IMDB, Mysterious Messages and eventually the Unchallenged fanlisting.
What were you looking for when you found our website or how else did you stumble across it?
Chris Marquette media.
What role in what movie --- any movie --- past, present or potential would you love to see Chris play?
I'd love to see him play the leading man in any major 'Ryan Renolds' type film. Seeing Dear Roommate made me wish I could see him play that role for an entire 2 and a half hours.
Seen any Chris movies in a theatre?
No! So bummed. I definitely need to. I would have at least gone and seen Race To Witch Mountain had I realized that he was in it at the time.
Own any Chris movies?
JoA, Graduation, Just Friends American Gun, The Invisible and The Education of Charlie Banks which is permanently stored on my Tivo.
Have anything special recorded off TV?
Not really.
What do you like most about Chris?
Insanely unique voice. The way he speaks in such a moving, captivating, emotional way. No matter what emotion he's getting across, he always speaks with such depth and richness. When he talks in that soft-Adam-y way when he's hurt, he has the incredible ability to make me just melt. And his crying skills are unreal-seriously I watch those Adam meltdown scenes over and over and they are just as powerful every time.
Oh, and his good looks are always a tie for first.
If you could ask Chris one question, what would you ask?
How he mentally prepares for a role, if it's a very elaborate process of research and communication/rehearing with others, or if it's a very internal process. And how he prepares to go on set and perform, any pre-shooting processes.
Do you have any of Chris's lines that you can quote off the top of your head?
This is going to sound so lame...pretty much any scene of any JoA episode. No joke. Like, literally ANY scene. And a few lines from Graduation.
Have you met Chris in person? If so, tell us about it.
No. I wish!! It's on the bucket list though.
If you could have him autograph one item or photo, what would you pick and why?
This photo. -> http://www.chris-marquette.com/gallery/ … play_media
It's how I always remember him. When I first saw that promo pic, it was my wallpaper for months.
What would you want to see Chris doing next out of these?
a) a very dark and suspenseful thriller
b) a sitcom
c) a quirky and/or romantic comedy
d) a horror movie
e) a drama TV show
f) an action movie
g) a dramatic movie
h) a medical or cop show
i) a theater play
j) something else entirely (if so, what?)
Hmm perhaps a sitcom, he's got such a hilarious sense of comedic timing. And I'd be on cloud nine if he became a series regular again. But since I recently read the fanfiction story "Why?" I've had Chris stuck in my head in the 'fatherly' role. Which is adorable. I can't wait until he's 'old enough' to really pull off that role.
--That's all I got. Super fun survey! Got me in the mood to watch some of those Chris movies!
-Joanna
Hi! I didn't make my avatar, I found it on livejournal years ago and saved it. I love fanfiction! I just got into it again a few weeks ago! I wrote a bunch of JoA fanfiction back in the day, and posted some of it. But this last month I have been Joan and Adam fanfic like crazy. Haha, I swear I'm addicted. I see your signature says Deb, do you happen to be the Deb of the TJ/Deb collaboration on fanfiction.net? If so..gah. I'm such a fan.
I'll definitely check out that questionnaire. I can't believe how fantastically extensive this website is!! Loving it!!
-Joanna
Hello, I am new here to the forum and would like to introduce myself! I'm a HUGE Chris fan, mainly from seeing him in Joan of Arcadia, my all time favorite show. Lately I've missed the JoA days so much I've been raiding my JoA photo and fanart collection and watching all the episodes over again. I think I've seen close to everything Chris has been in. I first saw him in Up, Up and Away when it came out on Disney Channel and even as a young actor, he blew me away. Anyway, can't wait to get acquainted on the boards and start discussing everything Chris!!
