Awesome!  I think New Moon is the best one in the series.

#3102 Re: Off Topic Stuff » amazing books » 10 Oct 07 :: 13:28

I can't really tell you in great detail without giving everything away.

Basically, Bella, the narrorator and main character, moves in with her dad in a small town, where everyone knows everyone else and Bella knows no one.   Edward eventually becomes Bella's boyfriend and they fall very very deeply in love.  But he's a vampire who's vowed not to drink human blood (he feeds on animals), but he can't resist the smell of Bella's blood.  Which, obviously puts her life in danger... it doesn't help that she's a total klutz.

So far, there's three books and obviously each book changes the story just a bit and Bella is under more danger as it goes on.   I won't spoil Paige with a synopsis of those wink

Hehe... I really shouldn't :embarrassed:

#3105 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 10 Oct 07 :: 04:04

Actually, I really am.  So much goes over my head there.

#3106 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 10 Oct 07 :: 03:59

I figured it would be most useful in the adult only thread wink

#3107 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 10 Oct 07 :: 03:42

Yeah, I checked back and it is.   I changed my password, it should be fine now.

#3108 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 10 Oct 07 :: 03:20

If there's any type of spam or a "repost this in 8187871 seconds or you're house will blow up" kinda thing from me, it's not from me.   ... I actually really wanna post a bulletin making fun of those now.

#3109 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 10 Oct 07 :: 02:17

Someone hacked my myspace today.  People really need lives if they have nothing better to do than hack into people's myspaces and feel the need to post bulletin spam roll

#3110 Re: Off Topic Stuff » amazing books » 09 Oct 07 :: 19:22

Exactly.  It would probably do well box office with the teeny-boopers but all that would mean is that Twilight sold out.  No fan wants that to happen, but there's always gonna be the loyal fans who won't judge the book by its movie.

#3111 Re: Chris On Screen » The Invisible » 09 Oct 07 :: 17:55

I just looked at the credit lines at the bottom and Chris' name is in there.  He's not a big name so they probably didn't put it in to get publicity of a big actor in a little part, so maybe he actually is in it more than we thought.  They only add the main actors and big names to that, don't they?

#3112 Re: Off Topic Stuff » amazing books » 09 Oct 07 :: 17:51

Stephanie Meyer won't let Zach play Edward.  Even though she has no control over casting she's said before if they cast any "Disney produced lip-syncers" for her characters, she'll wreak havoc on the set.   Nothing would probably come of it in the long run, but she'd hope her loyal fans would know the cast and would boycott the movie.  I know I would.

#3114 Re: Off Topic Stuff » amazing books » 09 Oct 07 :: 17:06

Oh, God... I didn't even think of that.  And the sad thing is he'd be perfect.   He'd have to lose the scary orange tan and start getting pale, which I wouldn't object to but he might not want to give up the sunless tanning.

Emily Browning is basically a lock to play Bella, Edward's girlfriend, and I don't know how Zach would react to acting opposite someone prettier (in my opinion) than him.  And I think he'd have to learn to do a British accent to play Edward, which I highly doubt he'd be able to do.

#3115 Re: Chris On Screen » The Invisible » 09 Oct 07 :: 16:50

Maybe that means we will get to see him in the extras.

#3116 Re: Off Topic Stuff » amazing books » 09 Oct 07 :: 16:39

I just looked up Hayden's age and he might not get the part either.  They're insisting on actors 22 or under to play Edward, so both of them are over the cut off age.

#3117 Re: Off Topic Stuff » amazing books » 09 Oct 07 :: 16:34

Well, in our eyes Chris lost the role to Hayden.  They were never looking at Chris for Edward in the first place, so he didn't lose anything really.

#3118 Re: Off Topic Stuff » amazing books » 09 Oct 07 :: 14:15

Barnes and Noble should have them, and if they don't they'll probably be getting them in again soon so you can ask them to hold a copy for you.  And if you have access to Amazon and Barnes and Noble online, you can order them there.

I really would love Chris to be Edward, especially now that he's buffed up, but they're looking at Hayden Christansen and other blond pretty boys for the movie.  Which, there will most likely be one.

#3119 Re: Fan Fiction » JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories » 09 Oct 07 :: 03:24

Posted a new Adam/Joan one... really should be smutty, but it's not.

#3120 Re: Off Topic Stuff » amazing books » 09 Oct 07 :: 01:37

Yep. They're all amazing.  You have to get the next two.  When I went to the store, it was the day the third came out, I only wanted Twilight but the lady insisted I buy the other two.  Then she put them on hold for me while I went back home to get more money for them.

But, yeah, they're awesome.  I saw Chris as Edward the entire way through the books.

#3121 Re: Chris On Screen » The Invisible » 08 Oct 07 :: 16:46

So I guess they're making feeble attempts at pushing the DVD, huh?

Very, very feeble.  I don't know anyone who watches VH1 on a regular basis and I haven't seen anything on the bigger networks.  If it wasn't for this website, I wouldn't even know this movie existed.

#3122 Re: Fan Fiction » Joan of Arcadia - Butterflies » 08 Oct 07 :: 13:52

I emailed you back to your work address, Deb.  It's not an edit, just a quick question.

#3123 Re: Joan of Arcadia » Random JoA Stuff... » 08 Oct 07 :: 00:24

Well, Adam's always been a little... special.   It showed weird Adam pre-Joan, then slightly less weird Adam when Joan came into the picture, then almost "normal" Adam when he fell for her.

#3124 Re: Fan Fiction » JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories » 08 Oct 07 :: 00:02

Same here.... but just being on the site and doing all the writing challenges.  If it wasn't for JoA, I'd probably still be writing for Lizzie McGuire, which... no.

#3125 Re: Joan of Arcadia » Random JoA Stuff... » 07 Oct 07 :: 23:56

I'm rewatching the first season now, and I'm stuck on at the beginning of Bringeth It On (episode 1x06).   Adam told two girls in Chem class that his uncle flushed Siamese twin kittens down the tiolet, which is where I got confused.

Now, here's my question: where the kittens Siamese cats, two that were fused together somehow... or both?      For some reason, I'm picturing a Siamese kitten with two heads and eight legs.
