It isn't real, but they have created a wonderful fake(I love the picture with Teddy Roosevelt).  here is the wikipedia article about it

I didn't want to mention it, because I knew people here liked the show, but Trauma Has been basically dead since it's second week.  You are both right about what happened.  An expensive show has to do better to survive than a cheap show does, and Jay Leno's show is definately hurting NBC.  But since NBC has now ordered (and therefore will be paying for) the whole season of Mercy, We will get a whole season at the least.

That is harder than it seems like it should be..  The first thing I of with him is that he was the first Columbo murderer, but I try not to use guest appearances, then I think of The War of the Worlds, but who the heck else was in that.  Finally I remembered that he was in some of Sam Fuller's movies and I got it..

Gene Barry was in Forty Guns with Barbara Stanwyck
who was in Double Indemnity with Fred Mcmurray
who was in The Caine Mutiny with Jose Ferrer
who was in A midsummer's night Sex Comedy with Mary Steenbergen
who was in JOA with...

Delroy Lindo

Teejay, it's isn't an age thing.  My 13 year old daughter and 17 year old son are constantly telling me that they think twitter is stupid, and don't know why anyone would do it.  And they both do facebook.

Is Ulysses someone from here?  If not, it is interesting that Chris came up.

Just heard we got picked up for the back 9 (the full season).  It is very good news, I haven't had one of these in a while.

#334 Re: Square Eyes » Mercy » 24 Oct 09 :: 02:03

Deb, did you see Wenesday's episode?  I couldn't respond to your comment about Harris because of the surprise in that episode, but he is starting on an interesting story arc.

We finished first again this week, I have hopes of a hit.

#336 Re: Chris On Screen » Touched by an Angel » 20 Oct 09 :: 23:08

Yeah, that's the point I was trying to make, but obviously not doing very well.

I noticed I'm almost a Dorque.   Hmm that doesn't sound very good.

#337 Re: Chris On Screen » Touched by an Angel » 20 Oct 09 :: 22:50

He has played characters who standup for people (most recently in Infestation)  but his characters always seem to be coming from a place of weakness. He is never the physically strongest person in the room or emotionally most secure.  But in this episode after he had the boxing training (Rocky training sequence), he was a character coming from some physical strength.  He actually beat someone up!!  I'm not sure I would want to see him play this all the time, but it was intersting to see him play it.

It made me think, He rarely (if ever) plays confident people.  And yes I know part of his appeal is his insecurity.  But it would be fun to see him play confident characters sometimes.

#338 Re: Chris On Screen » Touched by an Angel » 20 Oct 09 :: 22:06

Just finished watching the Ali episode.  It wasn't as good as the other episode, but they did know how to make tearjeaker TV.  It was trying to cover too many things and do too much so it got a little jumbled.  And this affected Chris's performance.  He played every scene perfectly, but the arc of the performance was a little jumbled.  That isn't a criticism of him, it was a weakness of the episode.  On the interesting side, it was fun to see him play a tough guy (even if it was just a couple of scenes).  He never seems to get to do that.  And he was really good in the scene where he stands up to his uncle.

Overall a nice performance, in a watchable episode.  But the other TBAA is better.

#339 Re: Chris On Screen » Chris-Watch: Where and when to catch him on-screen » 20 Oct 09 :: 01:53

The Touched by an Angel Chris did with Muhammad Ali is on the Hallmark channel tomorrow at noon and 8pm.  I haven't seen it so I will be trying to see it.

#340 Re: Chris On Screen » Infestation (SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE BEGIN ON PAGE 15) » 20 Oct 09 :: 01:39

That cover looks like the pre-release poster which was on the infestation website.  It is kind of a cool poster, but it really doesn't give an accurate impression of the film.  It looks like a serious/horror film, and we all know that it is a comedy/action film.  The current cover (both versions) gives a better impression of the film.

I think that is the point I was trying to make.  It would be the same for me in reverse.

#342 Re: Off Topic Stuff » COMPUTER TROUBLES D: » 19 Oct 09 :: 21:49

All of the software which we use in post production was designed for Macs, so everyone I know uses them.  (they did eventually make windows versions but apparently they are very unstable).  It is amazing how in our own worlds things seem to be all done one way, then you look outside and things are very different.

#343 Re: Off Topic Stuff » COMPUTER TROUBLES D: » 19 Oct 09 :: 17:23

Don't want to sound like a commercial, but I have a mac, and haven't had any problems.  And I have had macs for about 15 years almost problem free.

It's nice they haven't felt the need to make a villian.  So, the audience can be as torn as she is.

#346 Re: Square Eyes » Mercy » 18 Oct 09 :: 04:42

I loved the way Chloe just kept saying wow.  As she realised all that had been going on.

No big issues, the storylines continue to move right along.

#347 Re: Off Topic Stuff » for Simon .... » 18 Oct 09 :: 02:54

Another big no on vegemite.  I was surprised how much I didn't like it.  Usually when I try another cultures food, even if I don't like it, I can usually see how one could like it.  But Vegemite is the exception.  It is interesting how many of us have tried it though.

#348 Re: Square Eyes » Mercy » 18 Oct 09 :: 02:46

They added the scenes because it was short.  And then we got a few notes from the network, and since they were making changes anyway, I think they decided to make a few more.  Other than the new scenes, the changes were very small, which makes it more frustrating because you start thinking why am I having to do all of this for such little changes.

Well, we got a new version of the episode I am working on yesterday.  2 new scenes and lots of little changes.  This is for the episode which airs Wednesday.  So, I was up all night reworking all that I had done through the week.  Because the show starts mixing tomorrow.  This business is soooo glamourous.  I have to keep telling myself that.
