Bought my cat a package of Wiskas Cat Milk for $3.00 as an early Christmas treat.
Put a little in a bowl. He sniffed it and didn't drink any of it.
Finicky damn cat. $3 down the drain.
Likely will give the rest to a friend who has a cat.
That's nothing.
When I was a kid, the muffler fell off our car while driving. I was told to go and move it. Well through either stupidity or lack of judgment I picked it up and burned my fingers on both hands.
Had to go home with my hands out the window to cool them down. Had blisters on my fingers for weeks after that.

So according to the Weather Channel, for the next week it won't even get above freezing all week.
Plus some of the local weather guys are saying that for the next 2 weeks it's going to be cold. One even said it's going to be even colder with highs only in the teens (which I think means lows around zero or below <I hope not>).
This is way too early for temps this cold. It's like late January weather. Winter hasn't even begun and I'm already sick of this weather.
I want to see the movie, but it seems to be taking ages to ocme out on dvd here.
Don't know how accurate this date is, but according to this site it comes out in Region 2 on 2/23/09

Watched Vantage Point yesterday.
Very good suspense/thriller. I must say it's sort of scary what happens to the President in this movie could happen in real life. One of the best car chase scenes I've seen in a long time.
Dennis Quaid is perfect. William Hurt is great as usual. Sigourney Weaver is very good, but isn't seen enough.
Will say that the concept of the film left me 'disconnected' from the story for the first 30 minutes or so, but once the story started going further and further and more details on what is really happening kept me interested.
You can map out how people are associated with each other.
I did a very simple one with Chris.

The coldest it's been here was -24 in January 1985.
I remember the lowest High temperature was -11. Now that was a cold high. I can still remember how the sound was different. The planes sounded different, the snow crackling under my feet sounded different. There were ice crystals floating in the air. We had to go out and get a battery for the family car. The front windows of the Walmart I went to had frost on the inside front windows/doors, that's how cold it was.
This is how I rank the temps for the Winter months.
35 & up : Heat Wave
30 - 35: Seasonal and comfortable. Can be out in nothing more than a light weight coat for short times.
25 - 30: Chilly. More bundled up. Gloves necessary
20 - 25: Cold. Bundled up. Gloves & hat necessary
15 - 20: Very cold: As above
5 - 15: Very, very cold. As above, plus a scarf and more clothes.
Under 5 and anything below zero: Extremely cold to dangerously cold for anything approaching actual temp of -10. I wouldn't even go outside unless it was an emergency or extremely important.
How would you rate the temps that are normal for your area for winter and then those for up North?
So the Weather Channel said we got 4 inches here in Romeoville.
But I went outside and what I can see it looks more like maybe an inch at best. I can still see grass and leaves on the ground that the snow didn't cover up. Looks like a snowfall that isn't very uniform in coverage, perhaps where they measured was 4 inches, but not where I'm at.
It took them until this morning to even start plowing/salting the road here. And around 10 AM to do the side streets. But the main roads were pretty good.
Most of the snow came down North & West of Chicago. Being that I'm Southwest of Chicago we got less here.
Just hate that this came out of nowhere. A few days ago the Weather Channel was saying rain mixed with snow, with a slushy total of less than an inch. Then bam!!, Winter Weather Advisory, Winter Storm Warning for the North & West suburbs a few hours later. Went from nothing on the ground to everything snow covered & icy and chilly.
Bought these today from Walmart for $2.00 each
Realized it was Full Screen when I got home. Oh well.
Oh joy.
The first Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for this (Sunday Night) evening. 1 to 3 inches today and another 1 to 3 inches Sunday night into Monday morning.
Then it's going to only be in near 30 to mid 30's for the rest of the week.
You have to remember that Kmart went through Bankruptcy before they bought Sears. So that's likely why Kmart stores closed up & thus Kmart employees being laid off.
That's also why little to no Sears stores closed up. They didn't go through BC and didn't have to close up stores, whereas Kmart did to eliminate debt and restructure.
Just came back from Meijers $9.99 TV season sale.
I was hoping to have been able to buy all 4 seasons of Knight Rider for $40 total. But sad to say it was only the first seasons of each show.
So just bought 3 TV DVD sets.
Normal prices are:
Knight Rider $21.95
JAG $19.95
Atlantis $44.95
Saved $57.00
Just a little correction.
Kmart bought Sears, not Sears bought Kmart.

Kmart is buying Sears, Roebuck & Co. for $11 billion in a deal
Went to 3 places today.
Walmart:
Bought some dvds (which you can see which ones I bought it the other thread).
Also bought one of those $8.00 jackets for myself.
Meijer:

Menards
2 $5.00 pullovers
Menards was by far the most crowded, which surprised me.
Walmart was fairly crowded as well, especially around the electronics dept. People were waiting there for something and I didn't catch what it was but all of a sudden people were literally pushing to get something someone just put out. I think it was that guitar for the videogame.
I may go out tomorrow to Meijer for some of their $10 tv seasons.
Here is my Black Friday haul.
From Walmart
$10
With an exclusive bonus dvd
$2.00 each

Just had some ham sandwiches, some nuked potatoes, an Eskimo Chocolate Ice Cream bar and a piece of German Chocolate cake.
Here is some details on the toys that will be coming out from Playmates.
Playmates is back with Trek
The new Star Trek movie will have some toys coming from Mattel (like Star Trek Barbie) and other companies will have movie products, but the main toy line is from the venerable Playmates Toys, whose 1990s Star Trek toys are a favorite of many fans.
There will be at least two wave of toys next year from Playmate Toys, with Wave 1 released in March and April before the film (an important marketing decision) and Wave 2 in September, which may be timed to coincide with the probable autumn DVD release. All of the following are available for preorder now from Entertainment Earth.
WAVE 1

ACTION FIGURES - Available: April 2009
Star Trek movie action figures will be in three versions, 3.75" (similar to Star Wars action figures), 6" (similar to the DST Star Trek action figures), and 12". Here are the details from each of the action figures.3.75" 10 pack set
The 3.75" line has 10 initial figures in Wave 1, and the figures come with accessories such as phasers, communicators, and displays. [NOTE: playsets are sized for these action figures.]. The 6" inch line will run between 8 and 10 action figures in the initial wave. 12" Collector Figure Set
The 12" line will include four figures, three of which are confirmed to be Kirk, Spock, and McCoy (the fourth is either Prime Spock or Scotty in 'frozen planet outfit'). PLAYSETS – Available March 2009
It has been almost 15 years since fans have been treated to a Star Trek playset sized for smaller scale action figures and this film has two: Enterprise Bridge and the Transporter Room. The last movie Enterprise playset was 1979's MEGO version for TMP.Enterprise Bridge Playset

ROLE PLAYING TOYS

WAVE 2
UPDATE:
The information below was based on the update to the Entertainment Earth website. Since the first update Entertainment Earth has removed all of the items for Wave 2. Below covers what was announced, but none of these items are available for pre-order any more. It is expected for there to be a 2nd wave and it was likely that these items were just announced before they should have been announced and before details were worked out (notably on the ships).Nero Ship Vehicle - Arriving September 2009
Entertainment Earth also has two listings for Star Trek movie related Playmates ship toys for September with no descriptions beyond the names. One is called "Jellyfish" and the other is "Narada." "Jellyfish Vehicle" and the other is "Narada Vehicle." Although neither Playmates nor Entertainment Earth are confirming this, according to TrekMovie sources these are two different names for the same ship, that of the villain Nero. Narada is the actual name of the ship and 'Jellyfish' is a description of how how it looks (like a giant black metal jellyfish). It is not clear why there are two listings and it is possible that is an error or maybe there is a variant. Regardless, we now know that Nero's ship is called "Narada.".Utility Belt
It has been nearly 30 years that fans have been waiting for a new version of the Star Trek utility belt, and Playmates Toys answers those hopes with the Star Trek Movie Utility Belt which is detailed after the ones worn by the crew of the Enterprise. It will hold the phaser and communicator from the March toy line.Walkie-talkies
Walkie talkies in communicator form make all the sense in the world, which is why the idea has been a perennial, from MEGO's 1970s line to the Playmates TNG walkie talkies. Once again, fans can communicate with each other using 21st century technology wrapped in 23rd century style.Phaser Tag game
There will also be a Phaser Tag game which is a Star Trek version of laser tag. We all know phasers are better than lasers, anyway.
OK, not movie related, but I saw something at Walgreen's from the Original Series.
In the Christmas candy aisle I saw a Pez candy set with Pez dispensers in the shape of the crew and a little Enterprise as well. Price was $19.99 a set.
May pick it up later.
Did a google search and found this info on it.

Just ordered these from amazon.com
$3.99
$12.99
$11.99
So went out to Meijer to do some grocery shopping. Gee it was packed. Quite a few had these Sylvania HDTVs in their carts. Sale was $378 each.
Anyways, bought some pop, crescent rolls, these chocolate twist things from Pillsbury, an $11 Shank portion ham and some other stuff.
Stopped at Burger King and used two coupons. One was for 2 Whoppers & 2 fries for $5.29 and the other was for 2 Double Croscaint Sandwhiches for $3.00. So that should have been $8.29. I also bought two of the Simpsons toys they have for $.99 each. So it should have been $10.27 plus tax. Somehow the cashier screwed up and the total including tax was $7.04.
So saved over $3.00.
Then stopped to fill up my car. Prices per gallon all the way down to $1.71 a gallon. So it cost me only $9.00 to fill it up.
Should be showing up now.
It's from a slightly longer version of the trailer. He shows up towards the end and says "Long live & prosper!"
How many can actually do the Vulcan hand thing?
I can do it with both hands.
This is my first year where I am doing direct deposit. I have to wait till Friday to be able to get any money out (hopefully).
I was looking at the ads and if I was going to go anywhere, it would probably be Walmart to be some of those $2 dvds. Also perhaps some of the $10 2 packs.
But Amazon.com just started their BF sale and I just may do the bulk of my shopping on there.
