Glad you are having a good day Deb!

Mine was decent this year!  Better than I anticipated.  We saw war horse - I wouldn't say that you have to rush out to go see it, but it was entertaining!

Anne - hope you were able to enjoy the day!  I understand how that memory could be attached to this day but we can always choose to make it mean something different too!  Rejoice that your mother is in good health smile

Happy Holidays everyone!

Sorry Anne - that seems to be the word around the block - I think Christmas came up too quickly for people to get in the mood!

I woke up at 5:15 today as my body is adjusted to doing and couldn't fall back asleep.  I don't like doing that on breaks! smile

I love Jay Baruchel - does look funny.  Sean William Scott always plays those type of roles but he's suppose to be nice in person according to his co-stars! wink

Wow I got behind reading these posts.  I agree, I loved the connection Adam and Helen had.  I can't wait to see them act together again!  It would be great to see!

She would be an amazing woman to interview!  I will put Time After Time on my netflix queue

One thing I love about Mary Steenburgen, she tends to pop up in movies that I forgot she was even in!  She's so humble in all her roles I think I tend to miss its her!  I was watching Elf today and completely forgot she was in it!  Such a great role to be Will Ferrell's mother!  It makes sense now! wink  lol

That's very true deb, I guess I'm using it the wrong way!

Sometimes checking facebook just makes me depressed.  I shouldn't bother with it.  If it wasn't the main way people communicate these days I'd delete my account.

An Interesting selection of Golden Globes nominations this year.  I don't know what to think!  The three that stood out to me were JGL for 50/50, Johnny Galecki for Big Bang, and Madeline Stowe for 'Revenge' (it's actually a great show!)

two weeks off.  It still hasn't hit me yet!  I think because thanksgiving break was around the corner plus there still feels like a lot to do.  I'm sure I'll notice on Monday when I get to sleep in and not have to wake up at the crack of dawn!  Tomorrow will be fun, its polar express day.  Students wear pajamas and watch polar express.  It was really cute last year.  I got new pajamas this year wink

The jerk Felton played in Apes makes Draco look even more like a weenie, doesn't he?

Absolutely.  I'm looking forward to see what he has in store for him in his career.  I've seen him in interviews and he's quite charming.  The movie is called, 'From the Rough.'

I'm saddened now that I can't get Planet of the Apes this week.  I feel a little guilty purchasing it knowing my bank account was put in jeopardy.  I may have to wait until next month.  Patience....

Due  to the hellish semester i've had and the craziness just happening week by week, I am so treating myself to this.  I saw it in the theater twice.  I can't wait to watch it on my new blu ray dvd.  This interview made me so excited about it.  Gave me chills just watching the clips from the movie!

Going to use my small christmas bonus on it!

I can't watch harry potter the same after watching Tom Felton in this.  big_smile

I'm so sorry! :hug:  Praying for good things to come your way!  Hang in there!

Have you seen Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Mel?  I loved it. I'm hoping I can get the DVD soon.

It comes out December 13th.  It's going to be my semester treat for making it through the first part of the school year!

I saw this on Jesse Eisenberg's imdb page and then saw that Jason Ritter is starring with him too!  How exciting to see the Charlie Banks kids back together!

awesome Deb!  I thought Hotel Del Coronado was the most beautiful hotel (and I've seen a lot of them!) but that one is daw dropping gorgeous.  What a great time!

Completely random... but i think if i could have any super hero power it would be to stop time.  Especially when I am at home!

I heard catfish was good for the very reason you're talking about.  I need to put it on my netflix queue!

That conference was totally worth it but very draining.  I am not mentally prepared to go into work tomorrow. Where did the weekend go!

#546 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 04 Dec 11 :: 04:30

No kidding.  It's ridiculous.  I wonder what satisfaction they get from pretending.... people have too much time on their hands!

I guess everyone is out tonight.  Can't seem to reach anyone!  Oh well.  I guess a night in is needed for once.

#547 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 02 Dec 11 :: 06:39

Super excited about my conference this weekend on Greek Myths and Writing.  I had to take a personal day tomorrow and Saturday but I definitely think it will be worth it!  Felt a little guilty scheduling the time off so close after thanksgiving and near Christmas break, but I really wanted to attend this conference!  I think it will be a nice break away from routine for a bit.

Not much to tell really.  I'm a 48 year old mother of three who lives in North Carolina.  Discovered this fansite a while back after becoming a bit obsessed with Joan of Arcadia.  Didn't actually know about the show when it was airing because my kids were so young and we didn't watch a lot of network TV then, but after discovering it I became a huge fan.  Love that it gives me so many teachable moments for my kids.  Love when my 11 year old daughter watches an episode and then spends time trying to figure out the point.  It's a great show for making you think about life and faith and science and how it all connects.  Anyway, not much more to tell than that.  Nice to find a place to talk to others who love the show like I do.

Welcome to the board!  Glad you're here smile

I use to be that way too Deb, but it actually wasn't that bad.  Of course I didn't go crazy early in the morning, I made most of the sales getting started around 11:00.  With the economy its not so much black friday anymore as it is black weekend! smile  I noticed they were having cyber monday today too for internet purchases.

#550 Re: Chris On Screen » The Invisible » 27 Nov 11 :: 07:05

Its certainly not a perfect movie but its defiantly entertaining.  More so the first time you watch it.  I had a hard time watching it again and keeping close attention.I still love the music though.  I tried finding the soundtrack but it is no longer being published...
