I am sooooo tired today.  Can't believe the weekend is over. Went by fast.  Been watching CSI most of the day.  Exciting life I lead.

Pretty much describes my past week too!

I hope everyone is feeling better around here!

Was it just me, or was this week a really strange week?  I can't point to any one thing that made it horrible. Just not great.

I'll have to see if I can listen to it smile

#680 Re: Square Eyes » James Franco Appreciation Thread » 10 Aug 11 :: 02:36

Yeah. He is smart, I kind of admire him for going back and getting his masters.
The dvd features should be good, better than 127 hours. I think the only features on there is a commentary from the director.  I love listening to commentaries so I might rent it off netflix just to listen to it and watch it again.  One dvd bonus feature is not enough for me to buy a dvd.

I know they did the Ape similar to gollum in Lord of the Rings.  It was Andy Serkis who played the ape and then they used new line cinema technology for the effects.  That's all I could tell you though.  It would be interesting to learn more about it.

Just got back from seeing Apes.  It's great!  So much fun.  I can't remember the last time I had so much fun watching a movie.  It had some great in-jokes for us hardcore Apes fans and it hit all the right notes.  In my opinion, it's dang-near perfect.  I loved it and wish I could afford to see it again!

Hail Caesar!

So glad you liked it.  I felt the exact same way.  I really want to see it again or buy the movie.  I already loved James in 127, and this one upped the anty.  I know people give him a hard time for the choices he makes (especially recently) but I actually admire him for the decisions he makes.

Definitely one worth seeing.

Hellishly hot indeed.  its killed 12 dogs in the dallas metroplex.  so i've been on dog duty as we took a little hiatus between our student summer leadership academy and school that officially starts monday.  I'm enjoying my new mac.  Playing a little every day.  I think I'm going name her since that's a popular thing to do around here.  I was going to call her Joan for obvious reasons but then decided it would be much cuter to call the computer Jane!  What do you think?

Cappugirl: glad you finished your internship.  Just think about all the stories you get to share with others about the interesting people you worked with this summer smile

#683 Re: Square Eyes » James Franco Appreciation Thread » 06 Aug 11 :: 08:27

So I just saw Planet of the Apes and it was AWESOME.  Loooved it.  Best movie so far this summer.  Especially the first hour and a half in there is a beautiful story line being built.  THis is a serious minded movie but still balances the cheesy aspects of it well; and I can't wait to hear more about the making of the Apes and editing, etc.  That's all I'll say so it won't be too spoiled.  But highly recommend it.  Great story, fun movie.  Tom Felton from Harry Potter guest stars!

***** Maybe we could make this thread a more general James franco discussion thread?????;)

wowsers Deb that picture is crazy!  I would like to know what its about too!
I think your both right by the way... heat and allergies.  Its been 108 degrees every day this week.  But it feels like 118 with the heat index.  Its insane.

I'd like to say I'm officially a mac owner.  Can't wait to play and experiment now with my new laptop!

Love the quote. Thanks for the reminder! lol  I always think of a quote from 30 Rock: "Live every day like its shark week!"  andy samberg's clips are pretty hillarious in a very nerdy shark week kind of way! smile

I went to my local job center/employment agency again today. I definitely need a new direction for my life jobwise since I really hate being stuck where I am now. I do have an idea so far, but the job market in Germany sucks a$$, so I don't know if it'll work out.

Good luck.  I know its gotta be frusterating looking for a job right now! :hug:

I liked Stuttgart.  Had family there I visited once.  Beautiful country!

It will be our 20th day tomorrow of 100 degree temperature.  Doing carpool duty outside today outside the school was a workout.

Have you listened to the commentary Deb?  Jason says very nice things about working with Chris and how dedicated he is in his approach to acting.

Me too! All 3 are appealing to me. I think Canada would have the best summers, although the winters would be hard for me to handle after living in Texas for so long! We had 4 snow days last year in a row, and there was only 2 inches of snow on the grounds around where I live!

exciting!  Have a blast!!! but be safe too! tongue

Moved into my new classroom today.  After a year and a half I finally get my own room.  Spacious, closet, windows and everything!  Things are looking pretty good so far!

#700 Re: Square Eyes » BtVS/Spike & Buffy question » 17 Jul 11 :: 23:31

No they weren't reunited in the comics.  From what my sister tells me about them, willow and buffy actually hook up believe it or not.  Hate to be the spoiler.
