When did Chris say he wanted to go to acting school after high school?  What was he, a little kid?  He don't need no stinking acting lessons!  He learned on the job.  So Chris, if by chance you ever read this, forget about it!  You're done with school.  You could teach classes yourself, my friend!

Maybe this is old news to some people but I recently realized, after watching almost the entire series again that Adam is pretty much the only person in Joan's life that God ever directly interacts with.  And he's the only one who ever notices God when Joan goes off with Him/Her.

I think they had plans for Adam to eventually be fully aware and accepting of Joan's relationship with God.

So lets' cite some examples so you guys won't think I'm crazy:

* I'm not sure it's the first time, but Mrs. LandingGod, pats his shoulder as She exits the book store when Joan almost tells him in 1X04, The Boat.  Adam watches Her leave the store.

* In Recreation, Adam gets upset when he sees Joan dancing with CuteGuyGod.

* In Common Thread, Adam watches ShellyColeGod walk past him as he's sitting in the tree.

* In Do The Math, Adam trips over one of DogWalkerGod's dogs.

I can't remember which ep it is but Adam literally bumps into one of the God Avatars too.

This is not true of any other character.  Helen, of course, met CuteGuyGod in a dream.  But there was always something very important about Adam.  I would like to think that his fall from grace and eventual redemption would've been played for some huge drama in S3.

Name any other examples of this you can think of...

I thought maybe we could post Sean & Eric sightings here.  I think I just spotted Sean in a preview for an upcoming ep of the The 4400!  I could see where his character, Boyd could come back.  The bit was a guy wearing an orange prison jumpsuit who looked very much like Sean sitting on a bed in a cell.  It looked like someone was freeing him.  Maybe the Nova Group has plans to use Boyd to go after Jordon Collier, who just came back.  Could be cool if I'm right.  I'll keep you posted.

Susanna, take the DVDs!  TeeJay made a set for me and I have just about worn them out.  They're great!  And you will have SO MUCH FUN catching up!  I went out and bought new speakers for my PC when I got mine so I could hear the music and Adam's deep, deep Season 2 voice.  I have just had a total blast watching S2 over and over just like I did S1.  Except for the extras and seeing the eps on a bigger screen, like my TV, I don't really even need to buy the new S2 set when it comes out.  Of course, I probably will.  Unless they piss me off by not bothering to have any good extras.  God forbid.

Hi Susanna,

Welcome.  We're really glad to see you here.

Don't let my reluctance to write the G/L ship in our future fic bug you too much.  It's not like I'm trying to take revenge for all those G/L fics in which Adam is a suicial wimp or anything.  wink

I was always intrigued by the idea some people had that Grace crushed on Joan a little when they first met.  And with Grace and Luke, I just never felt the love.  However, I am of the belief that G/L shippers and A/J shippers ought to be able to find some common ground.  So what I've written is not in any way a dig at Luke.  These are all great characters.

#18632 Re: All About Chris » Escaping into dreamland » 13 Aug 06 :: 04:38

Yeah, but do we really need a Fanboys DVD to cap?  We have most of it already, as well as even better stuff --- takes that didn't get used and behind the scenes stuff.  If anyone who reads this obvious tease really wants to see all this stuff, you'll have to stick around till we're given permission to use it.  Most likey, that will happen closer to or immediately after the film's release.

Calvin pics I would "die" for.

Good question. It's something we've all wondered.  You know what would be perfect?  He should do at least one TV guest role for each indie movie.  Then we'd get a regular fix.

We have a few good starter threads already, but to give people some different things to reply to when they start finding us, why don't we create some thread ideas?  A few just came to me.

1) Best Opening A/J scene
2) Best Closing A/J scene
3) Best Kiss
4) Best Joan/Other moment
5) Best Adam/Other moment
...or, we can do that for each other major character, like Best Adam/Helen or Joan/Helen moment, etc.  I think we know what Adam/Grace scene a lot of us would pick, for example
6) Best use of a song for an A/J moment (Collide of course for me)

You know, stuff like that.  Make up your own.

One's reel can also be used instead of an audition, say if you can't get to the audition because it's on the other side of the country and you're currently shooting so you can't get away.  I would bet that this happens a lot with Chris since he's pretty much working no-stop.  His reel probably gets a workout!

Being the weirdo that I am, I DO wanna hug James to death.  I want to take him home after his last scene, nurse him back to health and help him get his ten-fold Biblical revenge on tweety-pie Byrd.

Or I could just put all his other scenes from the eps I have after the main 4 eps...

Nana Vistor is on that show Sean.  If you get to meet her, TeeJay might like to hear about that.

This doesn't deserve it's own thread, so I figured we could have thread for all the weird, old stuff we might run across.  So I'm flipping channels and I land on the Disney channel and there's Chris in Up, Up & Away --- a very goofy looking kids movie from 2000.  So he looks like first season Marc.  The scene I just saw was pretty funny.  He was trying to convince the bad guys he has super-powers.  It's almost the end of the movie, but he's doing the hyper-kinetic thing.  You know where he's almost overly talkative and kind of a wise-acre.  Such a cotrast from his later work.  The coolest thing is that one of the bad guys is played by Kevin Connolly.  He plays Eric ("E") on one of my very favorite shows, Entourage.  I've always had this little daydream about Chris playing himself on that show.  Now, it doesn't see so far-fetched.

Weights & Measures.  So OK, your tape will include:

Weights and Measures
Goodbye Slash
Body Mass Increase
& Gunshot Wedding

In that chronological order.  Do you want the one with the wet dream conversation too?  I could fit 6 eps on one tape.

#18646 Re: Chris On Screen » Strong Medicine » 29 Jul 06 :: 09:06

That's an awful lot of money.  Is that the cheapest you can get?  I'll send the tape next week.  Maybe you should drag the VCR this time.  Do you cant me to dub any of the other Strong Med stuff you saw while you were here?

Of course, as usual, this appearance is not super-long, but the second scene is a decent length.  And the caps from it would be awesome because he's not talking a lot and there's a lot going on with the facial expressions.  You'll love it.

And now, I'm off to bed.

#18647 Re: Chris On Screen » Strong Medicine » 29 Jul 06 :: 08:39

The second scene is PRICELESS! One of those patented Marc/Lu talks.  He doesn't say very much but he's incredibly cute in this scene. He smiles almost all the way through the ep. TeeJay... in this scene I see Adam in his tux in The Haircut.  He's wearing a really nice one here, with long tails.

The third scene is the wedding and Marc pretty much drags Lu in.  She's not having second thoughts about marrying Jonas. She's reluctant to leave her old neighborhood behind to live with the rich folks.  The wedding is really beautiful actually and Chris is amazing as Marc walks Lu down the aisle so proudy. It's just in the way he makes eye contact with certain people and the emotions that play on his face.  And then the priest asks, who represents the family in blessing this marriage and he says, "I do."  Just watched it again and it give me chills.

I've gotta get this into your hands, guys!  It is so worth it.  The screen caps would be fantastic!  If I send you a copy of the tape, can you get it converted to DVD?

#18648 Re: Chris On Screen » Strong Medicine » 29 Jul 06 :: 08:17

HE IS BEAUTIFUL, PART 2!

TeeJay, you're gonna love the hair when he first shows up at about the 38 minute mark.  It's not slicked back at that point.  It's just kind of James-ish, maybe not quite that short.  I think he's gonna be in at least three scenes, from what I've seen so far and from the two pics we have from the ep.

More after the show.

Just finished this one up because I only had a few scenes to go.  Love it!  Of course we have more nice moments from Chris.  And he looks so good in that Tour Of Duty t-shirt.  Not sure why but it just rocks.  But I also love Stoner God in this one.  He is just so cute.  And he has a great voice too.

These beautiful men and their deep voices are killing me!

More later maybe when I'm not so tired.

Yeah, I did read that interview.  It's probably my favorite one ever because he talks about a lot of stuff I would ask him about if I interviewed him.  I think Ben Foster's character in X-Men is called Angel.  I could look it up but I'm too lazy.  I should be napping right now.  Ben's pretty cool, been around for quite a while.

Chris isn't gonna be one of the greatest actors in the world one day.  He already is.  He may be one of the very best of his generation.
