If the Roves ever get Lizzie Jane a puppy...
...and get the puppy an iPod...
To be fair I think there ARE comparisons to be made: in Season One of "True Blood" the vampire and the shape-shifter are fighting over the girl. And the vampire wins. And part of what makes Sookie and Bill work as a couple is that the mind-reader can't read the other person's mind. Of course, there are many more differences than similarities. And really all vampire stories can be compared.
Now if only Jodie could give poor Adam Hann-Byrd a few tips.
By then we'll have seen a trailer or two, I'm sure. Both People and Entertainment Weekly had big BD spreads this week. I'm kinda getting geeked up for it already. And it IS way too soon.
Yeah, I think that was definitely a wig. But it was still such an improvement over the Black Oak Arkansas/ZZTop beard that it looked so much better than at the beginning of the show. Glad you finally got a chance to watch it, TeeJay! It was really great seeing them work together again, whatever the context.
I like TeeJay's list, except I would substitute "Friday Night" for her final choice(s). I might throw in "The Devil Made Me Do It" or "Wealth of Nations" for some good ethical issues to discuss. It sounds like a really interesting project! Please let us know which ones you picked and how it went.
She was truly in a class by herself. If she weren't, would Zsa Zsa be trying to glom on? In addition to an amazing career, she raised millions for pediatric AIDS research. She'll be missed.
Really? It's my favorite quote of his. Another one I like is one they used on "Studio 60": Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana." Groucho could always be counted on for a great quote!
I remember when he, Tim Busfield, and that bald dude from "Bonanza" would climb up to the roof of his RV, drink beer and jaw on about life. But I have trouble remembering last week.
And no whip!
That's great! And she looks just like she did in that picture Adam drew of her, except the fishnets are on her arms.
How sad! I just recently listened to the DVD commentary for "Letters to Juliet". He was an interesting guy. One of my aunts died of a brain tumor, and it can be a rough way to go. It's great that he was able to continue working while fighting his illness. My heart goes out to his loved ones.
That's not snow. How do you think that wolf manages to stay so thin?
Hey, great to virtually "see" you gain Rick! Sorry to hear about all the family stuff your wife having to deal with. Believe me, I can relate. But I'm glad your son is enjoying Nashville. I don't know anything about the university he's going to, but I love the city. I'm hoping your life calms down soon and that you win tons of awards in absentia.
He was great on SNL this past weekend! It's been years since I've had so many laugh out loud moments watching Saturday Night Live. It was hilarious when he, Andy Samberg and the REAL Mark Zuckerberg all stood together onstage and did their Mark Zuckerberg imitations! Jesse Eisenberg and the SNL cast also did a parody of the old "Mr. Wizard" kid's science show that was hysterical! If you missed it, try and catch it online. It was a scream.
Well, now that I've had a week to think about it I can honestly say that I liked the second-to-last episode much better than the last. It sure was a great series, though. I'm really gonna miss it!
If Tommy Davidson is who I think he is, the best thing I can say about him is that he's no Chris Tucker. My deepest apologies to Mr. Davidson's fans.
I hope he's in "The Rite" long enough to recognize him, at least.
Yeah, he's pretty smashing all right. And he was hilarious as Ross's f-i-l on "Friends". Did you ever see him in a movie where he was this Italian guy who had a fishing boat and he got involved with this British woman on vacation? I can't find it on IMDb, but I saw it once and loved it.
EDIT: Never mind! "Shirley Valentine"! How could I forget that one. I loved it! Even more than "American Dreamer".
Yeah, he's adorable. He's not tall, has a big nose and a weak chin. But somehow he makes it work for him.
Yeah, it was the case with Winslet last year. But I adored "Reuben, Reuben" and have watched it many times. And I had yet to be able to sit through "Tender Mercies" or that one where Duvall killed Farrah. The "Godfather" saga was great and everything, but enough already! I just looked it up: Duvall's opponents that year were Tom Conti, Tom Courtenay, Albert Finney, and Michael Caine. If anybody had a "body of work" award coming that year, it was Caine! Duvall got it because he's from here. Which stinks.
Happy birthday, TeeJay! Hope you had a wonderful one.
Yeah, it would be great. But I still remember Robert Duvall winning for "Tender Mercies" when the other 4 nominees were British. And I don't know very many people who saw "Tender Mercies". And no one who managed to sit through it twice.
The Best Actors' race looks really interesting. I think the voters tend to vote for the American contestants whenever possible. But I'd be shocked if either James Franco or Jesse Eisenberg won, since they're so young and don't have the tremendous "body of work" that academy voters seem to prefer. Jeff Bridges could pull it out two years in a row, which hasn't happened since Tom Hanks won for "Philadelphia" (1994) and the for "Forrest Gump" (1995) the following year. Though I love Jeff Bridges, I'd kind of like to see us be less xenophobic for a change and go with Colin Firth.
That was adorable! Thanks so much for finding that, Ashley, and especially for sharing it!!!
Yeah, I always got a kick out of Charlotte without liking her very much. Now I just love her! If Kadee Strickland doesn't get an Emmy for her work this season I'll be seriously pissed. I hated what they did to Violet, too. I know they had to write her out for awhile when Amy was sick, but why couldn't she be in a sanitorium recovering?
