I just realised this is an Adam & Joan Image thread and my pics are decidedly Adam-y. Oh well, Joan's usually there in the scene, if not pictured. So that counts.

I don't even remember what was going on in this scene, I know what episode it was (no future) 'cos I found them that way in the gallery but I don't remember the scene. Ah well. "I think we're forever". They didn't get to say that in the series. It was Joan's line in that beautiful fic, "Do You Remember?" that I read recently. It stuck in my head, probably permanently. Because I whole-heartedly agree.

Btw, I do not like this picture in particular, but I love how Joan puts her hand into Adam's and he (whether "he" is Adam or Chris) clasped it. I like to think it was Chris' doing

You know what Soph, the likelihood is that everything you see them doing in that last pic was not scripted, they just did it. The looks, the touches, that was mostly all Amber and Chris improvising. Scripts are rarely that detailed. And I have a couple of great JoA scripts and can tell you specific things that they did that were not scripted.

Example: in The Gift, that opening scene where they're talking to Helen and Joan says something mean to her. Adam kind of smiles and turns Joan around, puts his arm around her and leads her away from her mom before it gets any uglier. Not scripted. Totally them.

In the hotel scene, when he's crying and he says, "Are you gonna stay with me if this is what my life becomes... running this thing for the rest of my life?" Kicking the vacuum was not scripted, nor were his tears, or the way he wrings his hands. None of it. They did cut a line there though. In the script, he says, "Are you gonna stay with me if this is what my life becomes? If I wind up becoming my Dad? Running this thing for the rest of my life?" I'm glad they cut that line. It's kind of mean and I don't think very Adamy.

Lots of examples in that script. I have Jump too and there's quite a bit in there that didn't make it to the screen. Including more talk about suicide than we got to see.

Yes! I remember you saying they improvise most of their touches/looks, so yeah, I had high hopes it was Chris doing that in the daydream of "RTJ."

Wow, I did not know those examples and he did all of that! I for sure knew about Amber putting her arms on Chris during the read of the letter in "Jump." The two are just phenomenal.
