That's a cool drawing.  I love New Yorker cartoons!

Those particular cops made a serious mistake.  But neither America, nor the concept of warning suspects of their Miranda rights, are stupid.

"Friedman" (Aaron Himelstein) has a very small role in "High Fidelity".  He's one of the little boys in the park.  Watch for him.

I liked it better that Part I.  And the twist was pretty cute, I thought.  But I think most people will know what's up before all is revealed.  I don't think there are monumental differences from the book.  I think the movie dealt more harshly with the Volturi than the book did, and I think this is good.  I missed something in Part I that I noticed this time: Eleazar Denali was played by the guy who played Dexter's brother.  His make-up and accent were so good that it took me 2 movies to figure out where I'd seen him before.  I liked the thing at the very end, just before the credits roll.  It was very sweet, I thought.

Thank you!  And that is beautiful, TeeJay.  Well done, as usual.  I hope he's having a wonderful 28th, wherever he is. smile

Lindsey, I've always had good luck with that Oxy stuff.  You can buy different brands in spray form or mix the powdered stuff with water in your own spray bottle.  I'm sure you could mix it up in a bowl and sponge it on, too.  I've just never tried that.  But that stuff really cleaned up my car carpets and seats, and interior carpets/rugs, too.  Good luck!

Hey, just wondering, why am I a horndog again?  It doesn't seem like it took away any of my posts, it just changed my designated rank.  Ghosts in the machine, perhaps?   big_smile   ]:D

BTW, TeeJay, thanks for all the cool stuff you've been finding lately?

Gaffigan played Stephanie Daley's father, so that helps cross-pollinate future games of Six Degrees.   lol

I love "Bones"!  I had a Bones marathon not too long ago.  Michael Welch's has a guest spot in the same season that Fred Koehler appeared, so you've got another JoA alum coming up.  That was one nasty giant chocolate bar, wasn't it?

Hee, if you were shocked by Gilbert Grape don't EVER see "Melvin & Howard".  You wouldn't believe that sweet little Mary Steenburgen could act that way.

I love these books/movies, but this still made me laugh:

I especially loved the stuff about "Anna Kendrick and Jimmy Fallon with a Mustache". :rofl:  And I'm dying to find out what unintentionally funny thing Carlisle said one hour and five minutes in.  LOL.

Anyway, enjoy!

I heard somewhere that there would be a Breaking Dawn, Part II trailer before "The Hunger Games" which comes out in two weeks.  So they're already gearing up.  It's a little early IMO, but here we go one last time.

How much longer is the contest open?  I've already voted for you at work.  I could swing by the public library on Saturday and vote for you on 6-8 more.  Good luck!

#22 Re: Square Eyes » Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies) » 13 Feb 12 :: 17:20

None of them would right now, but I could see any or all of them being a little more willing 3-5 years from now when they're not the hottest new thing anymore.  When Stephenie Meyer writes other things that aren't as successful, I wouldn't be at all surprised if she went back to the well, either.

And I think there are plenty of stories to tell, too.  Renesmee and Jacob's story, for one.  I'd also like to see a happy ending for Leah.  She got the short end of the stick all the way around.  And the Volturi should be more definitively destroyed.  They're evil, they were running Victoria from behind the scenes in New Moon/Eclipse.

On the whole, though, I hope that everyone leaves well enough alone and just leaves us wanting more.  I hate it when inferior sequels ruin what I loved about the original.

#23 Re: Chris On Screen » The Double » 13 Feb 12 :: 17:08

I saw it over the weekend.  I thought it was pretty good, actually.  Nothing to write home about, but a good little spy thriller.  I noticed that one of the DVD extras was a trailer, but it was a good trailer.  Not the excrable one that all but ruined the movie, but one that would make you want to see it.  Wish they'd made that one in the first place!

Sheen & Gere did have powder blue hair in one scene.  I don't know why the color was off in spots.  Stephen Moyer did a great job with the little he was given to do.  Same with Stana Katic.

Happy Birthday, TeeJay!!!!!  Hope you're having a wonderful one.

#25 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Birthday Thread » 23 Jan 12 :: 18:54

Happy birthday, Anne!  I thought about wishing you a happy birthday before I left work Friday, but I didn't want to jump the gun.  I thought I'd get on the computer Saturday, but that wound up not being the case.  So a very happy belated birthday to you!  Hope you had a great one.
