Oh and seated in the row in front of the Fanboys are the kids that beat up on Hutch with the lightsabers. I don't know their names though. Also Kyle Newman's brother is seated behind Sam, and then Kyle's parents are right behind his brother.

The pic I posted is one of the many pics that the photographer John Estes took during the theater scene. (We did this scene many many times) The one in the actual film is a little different and shows a few more of my friends down in the lower right corner. Did you want me to go through and label everyone that I know?

#7 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 02 Jun 09 :: 08:57

Hey Deb, thanks for posting that pic. This past weekend, the 501st suited up to help a local library kick off their Summer Reading Program, and there were 80+ kids alone(Not including parents) that showed up. We took pictures and even signed autographs for the kids..even Jacen(who's 6 yrs old) was dishing out his sig. It was a blast!
I'm up waaay past my bedtime..but I can breakdown which scenes I was in tomorrow. Deb's right about the theater scene...in fact, over half of the people in that scene are from our local Star Wars clubs, or were friends of friends....My nephew is seen sitting right next to me inside the theater when we all start cheering...I was really happy that he made it in the film...even if for only a couple of seconds.
Also, I just wanted to mention, that when Hutch begins walking past the theater line, you can see a man dressed up in a Han Solo costume who is fighting with a lightsaber..His name was Greg Moss and passed away a few months after filming had wrapped..He was a great friend to us in the fanforce & 501st and it's cool to see him in the film as well. smile
I'm trying to remember where Rachel was in the film and I'm drawing a blank. She was constantly on set with Sam during the filming of the movie, plus we hung out with her on several occasions(She is incredibly sweet by the way) --Guess I'll have to go back and watch it again!!

Deb, if you're planning on a trip to Four Corners/Roswell, etc....You better give me a heads up!! True, there's not much to the Four Corners landmark(We were just there a few months ago) but it's still cool to see just for novelty sake...plus if you're hitting 4 Corners from the NM side, you can also see Shiprock which is pretty awesome.
Oh, and Fanboys has been on a steady rotation here at the casa since last Tuesday.

It was day two for our Fanboys release here in Albuquerque and we had six guys show up to Troop for it's cause. We had a ton of people come up & take pics and ask why we were suited up. Alot of people had heard of Fanboys and had seen the trailer, but didn't know it was even out. (We were standing out in front of the theater on a very busy street downtown, so not all of the people talking to us were theater patrons) Lots of kids and people in general came by, and yes I was mistaken for Darth Vader quite a few times(Not a troop goes by where I'm not, hehe) but unfortunately no zombies today!
Alright time for some pics:

Sure do!
There's a convention pass that all the Trek guys wore during the casino scene(TrekCon) , Linus' pill bottle(There were quite a few of those), Eric's comic, A signed book cover of 'Trekkin with TJ', Shatner's fictional autobiography from the film, Window's glasses, a Bottler carsalesman name tag for Kyle, a Skywalker Ranch pass, and then 2 engraved plates at the top and bottom. big_smile

Sean, I don't think you ever posted this here. It's cool...

Sorry about that. That was taken in Las Vegas, NM when we were filming the 'Riverside, IA' scenes. On the last day of shooting, Sam Huntington invited all of us to celebrate his B-Day with him at a little hole in the wall bar, and while there, the prop guy(Joe Arnold) presented that to Kyle. Joe said it was a tradition for him to give something like that to each director he works for. I thought it was pretty sweet too. big_smile

Hey guys!
Just got back from opening night here in Albuquerque for Fanboys.
I wasn't able to attend the "Trooping" part of today's event since I was taking part in an event at the Museum of Natural History earlier--but we wrapped things up just in time to catch a 9:40 showing. It was kinda cool because every year here in Alb, there's what's called a "Zombie Crawl".
People dress up like Zombies and limp and crawl down a street in the downtown area. It just so happened that the theater was the gathering point for these zombies. So there were about 40 zombies hanging out in the theater lobby while we were buying tickets. Very surreal, but totally cool. I even knew 2 of the zombies, lol. Anyways,
saw the movie(Maybe 20-25 people in the crowd :doh:) and had a great time. The previous version of Fanboys I had seen was a little different than the theatrical release. Same storyline, but some of the music was different, added and removed scenes, etc...Still worked out well though.
I heard some of the people in the audience laugh at jokes that only true nerds would get..so I got a kick out of that..plus you could hear people whisper to each other everytime a cameo appearance took place...
Well, tomorrow afternoon, I'll be in armor and ready for another viewing(With lots of pics too)
In the meantime, here's a pic of my buddy Aaron trying to keep the zombies out of the theater. big_smile

I found all you guys through IMDB as well, big_smile

Oh..and my policy about fighting with the IMDB morons..."If you can't hit them, don't argue with them."
Okay, that's not really my policy-just sounded kinda fun at the time. tongue

#17 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 10 Mar 09 :: 03:46

Okay cool, We were able to get a Sat Afternoon Troop going for this, so I will be able to suit up in the ol Shadow Trooper armor and make an appearance big_smile

#18 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 10 Mar 09 :: 03:17

Aw Deb, you need to take them up on the D-CON thing. I hear that is an incredible convention to go to.

#19 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 10 Mar 09 :: 02:35

I sure will.
One of the theaters contacted us today about the Troop and said they would give each participant a 1-sheet poster which is kinda cool. Not like we needed an incentive or anything hehe. If I can't get the Saturday Troop worked out, worse case scenario, I go see it in plain clothes!  smile

#20 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 10 Mar 09 :: 02:06

Hey guys! Albuquerque is FINALLY getting Fanboys--took em long enough since they filmed the darn thing here.
It opens Friday the 13th! :devil:

The 501st has been invited to 'troop' for it and guess what? I have a prior commitment!! :witsend: I offered my services to a fundraiser being held at the National History Museum a few weeks ago and don't want to back out of it.
I'm pushing for a Saturday troop as well. We'll see how it goes.

#21 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 08 Mar 09 :: 04:47

Very cool.

Here's a couple of pics of them:

#22 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 08 Mar 09 :: 01:44

oh, and I'll second(Or third) the comment about Kyle on set. He was always focused, but at the same time, always having a great time which set the tone for an enjoyable atmosphere.

#23 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 08 Mar 09 :: 01:41

That's cool Larry, we were there when Pucci was filming his scene. He's one of the 2 Fetts that hassled Eric outside the theater while everyone was in line for Episode One. smile

#24 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 07 Mar 09 :: 08:49

Haha-I was thinkin' that too.
There's a scene where Windows is looking for his 'contact' in Austin at the Java the Hutt cafe, and he mistakes a guy with long hair for his 'internet girlfriend'. Well that guy is standing right behind Chris in that pic. He was the hairdresser for the film. smile

#25 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 07 Mar 09 :: 08:09

My friend, Joseph Perez, posted this on his Facebook and I wanted to post it up over here. Not sure if you guys have seen this but Joe was at the hospital when Carrie Fisher was filming her scene and he went around to the cast and had them sign a Storm Trooper bucket. And this is obviously when Chris signed it...
