I read an article (in TVGuide, I think) that said the character is based on a friend of hers who's name is Martha Meredith Masters. So I think it was her idea.
No, I think you made the right decision. You'll enjoy it just as much on DVD. It's fun and silly, but it's not nearly as good a movie as "The Social Network".
I don't want to hear a single WORD from any of my clothes.
That's a heartbreaker! She was amazing. I've always wondered why she didn't work more after her kids were grown. I guess now I know. I hate to see such a sad ending to such a long and courageous battle.
Awww, that's a shame. I heard about Barbara Billingsley, but I hadn't heard about this one. He was terrific as Mr. C. and also in the thankless role as the stooge sheriff in Cabot Cove. He'll be missed.
Best name ever! This guy's a producer on L&O: SVU

Speed Weed!
That's pretty good, although I still prefer Raynor Scheine:
I'm with you, Anne! I haaaaate IMDb's new format. I hope they change it back, or make it more user friendly.
It really IS awesome, and so beautiful! Thanks so much, and for the birthday wishes, too.
And I hope somebody had a fantastic birthday yesterday, too.
The writer/producer of some of my favorite shows has died. He was 69.

Prolific TV producer Stephen J. Cannell dies
Stephen J. Cannell, the prolific writer-producer of dozens of TV series that included "The Rockford Files" and "The A-Team," has died at age 69.
Cannell passed away at his home in Pasadena, Calif., on Thursday night from complications associated with melanoma, his publicist said on Friday.
After three decades as an independent producer of TV shows, Cannell in recent years had focused his attention to writing books, and had published 16.
As an actor, he had a recurring role on ABC-TV's series, "Castle."

So sad. He was so talented. The sun is bad for you!
Yes, it is wrong, but then I keep seeing him in a dress.
Nobody's perfect.
I'll stop with the gratuitous birthday post-padding now.
And many thanks, Leesey!
Then I'll try not to blab about it until then.
Thank you! I like that one! I think I'm gonna go see "The Social Network" this afternoon, and then tomorrow stop trying to be so lazy.:D
That and, "Yondah lies de castle of my faddah.":D
I remember that he and Jack Lemmon posed in drag together again for "Vanity Fair" when they were both older. Here it is. Hope you can see it:

I don't think that's J.J. I think it's George from "Dead Like Me". And, of course, Inigo Montoya: "My name is Inigo Montoya. You keeled my father. Prepare to die." I think Mandy Patinkin is great, but when he's on a series don't get too attached to him. He's been known to bail abruptly.
Awww. That's really sad. Now both of her folks are gone. Yeah, Tony was no saint but, as you said, he was no Eddie Fisher, either. And he did quite a bit of good work, and made an effort to forge relationships with his children when he finally grew up. He'll be missed.
Happy birthday, Leesey! Hope you're having a great one.
I don't know, Anne. He doesn't look like he minds seeing it all that much to me.
Oh, I loved him! He was Rhoda & Brenda Morgenstern's father, the guy on "Soap" who talked Billy Crystal's Jodie out of suicide, and should have played Hal Linden's father on "Black's Magic" instead of Harry Morgan. What a terrific actor. We're losing some great ones here lately, aren't we? But at least they're people who had a nice, long run.
96, though? That's an amazing run, especially since he was still working. I remember him mostly from one of the lesser-remembered 80s night-time soaps, Flamingo Road. I think he was also the brother of the writer, Mary McCarthy. What an amazing life and career he must've had. He'll be missed.
Happy birthday, Simon!
I know, right? So dull! And after that fantastic opening number? That really had me on my feet. And I loved the Betty White stuff, too. First trying to teach John (Jon?) Hamm to shimmy and then showering with Hugh Jackman? I should live so long.
I thought "Eclipse" was great, too. And that surprised me, since it wasn't my favorite of the books. It was good, but I didn't like dragging the whole Victoria thing out over three novels/movies.
As far as Michael Welch's part was concerned, I think that's probably gonna be the case with the last 2 movies, too. Since the Forks class of 2010 has graduated, I think Bella's high school friends will be a around a lot less. They'll probably make a fleeting appearance at the wedding and that'll be that. I noticed that "Eclipse" changed who the class valedictorian was, no doubt due to Anna Kendrick's recent success in "Up in the Air".

That is so, so wrong. But it did make me giggle.
LOL! That's great, TeeJay!
Happy 22nd, Laura, wherever you are! Hope you had a great one.
