oooh, I just watched "A Civil Action" recently. So I'm prepared.
Stephen Fry was in "A Civil Action" with Tony Shaloub
who was in "The Tic Code" with...
How about Stefanie Powers?
Oh, yeah! He's adorable. JBD was in "The Black Donnellys" with Kate Mulgrew
who was on "Cheers" with Ted Danson
who was in "Ink" with Mary Steenburgen
who was on "Joan of Arcadia" with...
(I know Kate Mulgrew was in some of the Star Trek stuff. I'm just not a big enough fan to know if she & Shatner were ever in anything together. But I know my "Cheers".
How about Lou Diamond Phillips?
I love those old Columbos. The ones from the 80s were good, but he just didn't look like he was having as much fun as he did the first time around. In fact I loved all the shows on the old "Sunday Mystery Movie" series. It's so much fun to catch an old Columbo, McMillan & Wife, or Hec Ramsey. But Columbo was the best!
I remember Robert Culp killing a guy at his gym and Columbo could tell that the victim hadn't tied his own shoes, so that's how he got him. I think the other time he killed either his wife or girlfriend. But I don't remember any details.
Noth was in "Sex and the City" with Sarah Jessica Parker
who was in "Smart People" with Ashton Holmes
who was in "Normal Adolescent Behavior" with Amber Tamblyn
who was in "Joan of Arcadia" with...
How about Harry Anderson? And whatever happened to him?
IMDb says Richard Chamberlain turns 76 today. AGAIN?
Yeah, I had this whole "Spellbound" Ingrid Bergman "Casablanca" Bogie Bacall "Mirror Has Two Faces" Jeff Bridges "Open Road" thing worked out in my head.
But then I remembered that Leo G. Carroll was in "Father of the Bride" with Russ Tamblyn
who was in "Joan of Arcadia" with...
How about Diana Rigg?
Okay, then I'm gonna say that she was in "Hairspray" with Michelle Pfieffer
who was in "The Fabulous Baker Boys" with Jeff Bridges
who was in "The Open Road" with Justin Timberlake/Mary Steenburgen
who was in "Alpha Dog"/"Joan of Arcadia" with...
How about M. Emmett Walsh?
Yeah, me too. I think Roseanne gave jobs to Jon Waters' people (like Tracy Lords), but I can't remember Mink Stole ever doing an episode. Stumped!
That's such a shame that he had such a tragic accident! He looked like he really tried to take care of himself and stay in shape. He was a terrific actor. And has a son who is a terrific actor, too.
Is 3 times a record on Colombo? If it is, I never would've guessed it was held by Mr. Culp. I'd have put my money on Patrick McGoohan.
Well for some reason the movie is UP $3.00/share on Hollywood Stock Exchange. So I won't buy any. LDW is down a bit, so I picked up 1,500 shares.
Great new ride, TeeJay! I love it! Aren't you excited? Gotta love that new car smell. I'm sure you & Jake will have a lot of great adventures together.
Happy birthday, Deb! Hope it was a great one! I LOVED being 25!!!;)
Alistair Sim was in "A Christmas Carol" with Hermione Baddely
who was in "Maude" with Bea Arthur
who was in "The Golden Girls" with Betty White
who was in "Boston Legal" with William Shatner
who was in "Fanboys" with...
Michelle Phillips
That's beautiful! And soooo sad. Great use of the song, too. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Lee Marvin was in "Cat Ballou" with Dwayne Hickman
who (I know from reading this thread thoroughly) was in "Bring Me the Head of Dobie Gillis" with Scott Grimes
who was on "ER" with Sean Hatosy
who was in "Alpha Dog" with...
Jon Hamm
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, Kate! I'm glad you got to have a little more time with him after his surgery. Sounds like he was a big part of the family.
Our local theater had a midnight showing of "New Moon" last Thursday/Friday, and there were lines out the door for that one. And they've been about that bad ever since. I think I'll steer clear of New Moon until after the holiday, and maybe try to catch The Blind Side.
Who all has seen New Moon yet? What did everyone think?
I know what you mean about a single episode ruining things, Rick! I also loathes the St. Elsewhere finale, but still love what the show was. I also hated the last season of "Roseanne". Can't believe someone besides me still remembers (& loves) the Jim Hutton version of "Ellery Queen"!
I love a bunch of stuff from your list, Deb! I'll have to really think about it before I make out my list.:/ I love most anything Steve Bochco did in the 80s.
One of my all-time favorite shows was "Ed", without a doubt the best-ever series about a bowling alley owner/lawyer ever produced - bar none!
Sorry, Rick! I can't place Keith David. I know who David Keith is, but not Keith David.
It's Sesame Street's birthday!
Hee! I like that Google is making a different Sesame Street banner for every day of the anniversary week. Today they've got Oscar and his garbage can lid is the first "O" in google. My favorite was the first day (I think), they had Big Bird's feet and legs:
And here's Oscar:
Oh, he's darling! I'm glad you didn't end up losing him, Kate. I know he's a big part of the family!
Here I go being convoluted again:
Pauly Shore was in "Biodome" with Steven Baldwin
who was in "Threesome" with Lara Flynn Boyle
who was in "The Practice" with James Spader
who was in "Boston Legal" with William Shatner
who was in "Fanboys" with...
How about Betty Buckley?
I love her! Haven't seen her in anything in a looong time.
Emily Lloyd was in "In Country" with Bruce Willis
who was in "Alpha Dog" with...
Richard Thomas
Eddie Deezen was in "War Games" with Matthew Broderick
who was in "The Stepford Wives" with Glenn Close
who was in "Damages" with Ted Danson
who was in "Ink" with Mary Steenburgen
who was in "Joan of Arcadia" with...
I know that was the long way around, but I couldn't remember the names of Eddie Deezen's other movies.
How about James Woods?
I know a lot of people here love John Cusack and "Say Anything". Hope you enjoy this story as much as I did. :
Lloyd Dobler Mob Takes NYC For the love of everything that is good and pure in this world, the next time there are multiple Lloyd Doblers around town, please alert us! Yesterday there were not 1, not 2, but approximately a zillion trench-coat wearing, boom-box-over-head-holding Lloyd Doblers right in this very city. Did you see them? USA Today reports that the self-dubbed "Mobler" hit up Penn Station, NYU, Union Square and landed in Times Square to meet up with a band called the Lloyd Dobler Effect, who sang "In Your Eyes."
This was for the 20th Anniversary release of Say Anything on Blu-Ray, even though Dobler himself famously declared that, "I don't want to sell anything, buy anything or process anything as a career." Whatever, we would like to see this happen every day (more videos here):
I tried to like Numb3rs in the beginning, but I just couldn't stay with it. I'm really sad to hear that "Medium" ratings are only slightly better, however. I hope THAT one lasts for years & years! Love that show!
