Doing somewhat of a spiritual retreat this weekend with my friend and her husband pastor to start the summer and end the school year.  Have a feeling timing couldn't have been better.  I really need to get away from everything for a while!  Just staying with them for 3 days in Elkhart, Texas.  It will be in the woods so it will be nice to escape into nature for a while.

THen I have 16 days until I go with my parents to London for my 30th birthday!

Have you watched 'Moon' yet?  That was his director debut with Sam Rockwell.  Pretty awesome!  A little slow at parts but definitely worth the watch.  THat's awesome  he responded, seems like he's a cool guy.

I accidentally slept through church.  I set my alarm and was actually up and awake at 8:15.  I decided to take a little nap and slept through my second alarm.  Oh well!... Thank goodness for sermons online to listen to!

I plan to read hunger games over summer too... Dragan Tatoo series a fun read for summer, did that last year.  I also have Steven King's Dark Tower to read.... and True Blood, but I might hold off on that one.  I'm thinking of breaking down and buying Vampire Diaries too.  I also kind of want to re-read Mere Christianity and Out of the Silent Planet Series by C.S. Lewis so lots to look forward to.  I always like to read a spiritually focused book and a fun/challenging (depending on the mood) read simultaneously.

I'm currently reading the Lost City of Z, that's actually really good about Fawcett's explorations into the Amazon.  Having been there myself it's really iterating to dig more into its history.  I actually got the book for my mother's day since they just went to the Amazon.

Ohhh, and I'd also recommend The Passage by Justin Cronin or World War Z.  Both good reads!

I guess the link didn't work, I'll see if I can find the actual comic.  For once it was something funny in the staff notes.  Yes, summer is just 11 days away..  I'm in denial about the school year ending.... just doesn't seem right.... I feel like I'll be in the twilight zone stuck in this year forever! Lol.  It has gotten a little more peaceful recently. Even in the midst of testing.  I always miss the kids during the summer actually.  I go a little stir crazy with nothing to do after about two weeks so I'm going to volunteer at the arboretum and keep volunteering at the holocaust museum.  I'm one of those that too much time off can be harmful.

Saw the Avengers and it was AWESOME!  I think I like Captain America more in this movie than I did in Captain America.  So good to see Joss' name in the credits!!! I felt so proud   All actors were great, and Robert Downing Jr was awesome in delivering whedon's more humorous lines.  Stay for the credits as always.  Really beautifully shot I thought.  A bit trite and vague review but don't want to give too much away!  Now off to bed for me!
