don't let it bother you. the guy has read a book or seen a tv show about what a director does. And now he wants to talk on message boards and show off this "knowledge". But as someone who has worked with real directors, and actually knows what they do, this guy who posted is a moron.
The Hangover's success is pretty easy to explain...it's very funny. A comedy which is actually funny, is always a good bet for success.
I have actually seen the movie but I didn't remember him from that. I only remembered him from Due South, and I couldn't remember who else was in it.

Here is where you can read about how AEG isn't going to lose any money
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/music_b … gaine.html
And when they start having the tribute concerts (One is already in the planning for London) and the dvds of the over 100 hours of rehearsal footage they have. They will make a fortune off of this.
Okay, I have to get it off my chest. This memorial is costing my city $3.5 million dollars at a time in which we are laying off city employees. And AEG (who is getting a fortune in free advertising out of this) has refused to help offset the costs. I'm sorry the guy is dead, but I am now more annoyed than sorry.
Need in a big sense...no, not really.
But I think they perform a real service to movie fans. Not in regards to major releases. We will all make up our own minds whether we want to see them or not. What critics do, is help small movies. The Little Miss Sunshines of the world. They bring attention to movies which are searching for a releasing company, and they can help movies which have a limited release, to be discovered by more people. They provide advertising for movies which aren't getting much advertising from the companies releasing them. there are wonderful movies which we may have never seen without the support of critics. Yes, there are wonderful movies which could have used their support, which didn't get it, so it isn't a perfect thing, But I think they serve a purpose, and I'm glad they are doing it.
Because movies sometimes have 10 producers, who often have nothing to do with the movie, I'm not big on using producers, but it is easy enough to get there with Kevin Spacey anyway...

I think in the end he will have been killed by prescription drugs, just like Elvis. He was surrounded by yes men(some of whom were doctors) who gave him whatever he wanted, and eventually it destroys the body. The drugs may not end up being the actual cause of death, but the years of over use, and the destruction it can cause will be.

Well, I saw this film today. It is really pretty good. I'm not going to put in any spoilers so feel free to read on. It goes a little slow, but the overall story works very well. Be aware that Jason Ritter really steals the movie. He has a very interesting character and does a lot with it.
Chris is really excellent in what is really a supporting role (in all the meanings, smaller part, yet important to the plot). And as far as Chris watching goes, you get to see him with some serious 70s hair, and a few scenes in his tidy whities. Didn't do anything for me, but I am sure I am in the minority on this board.
Overall, it is worth seeing, and I will say more once it has been more widely seen.
I hope everything is okay. The words "emergency surgery" are always scary, but it is usually okay, especially if he is in stable condition.
The squirrels around our house are constantly dropping oranges on us (usually don't hit us) They take them up in the trees to eat them, then when they get startled or just try to move around they accidently drop them. Or they are just out to get us.
