Well, I remember at least one night that I stayed up. big_smile
I couldn't even THINK about sleep, do you remember, Tina? wink

#6602 Re: Square Eyes » Grey's Anatomy » 17 Jan 07 :: 00:37

I don't think it's silly. I love the show! Well, I have to admit, I have a thing for hospital shows. And I don't even know why. LOL

Yeah, Cristina's cool. I like Meredith, actually. As for the boys, I like George (of course!) and ... Derek. tongue
How far are you with the show?

#6603 Re: Joan of Arcadia » JoA actor sightings » 16 Jan 07 :: 21:55

Oh, I forgot to tell you, we had What's Eating Gilbert Grape on TV a few days ago. I didn't watch it, because I have seen the movie several times already, but since it features Mary Steenburgen, I thought I should mention it here.

I love it when the Girardi's are in with the therapist and Joan thinks the therapist is God because of the assignment.  I love when Joan says, "Are you a therapist or are you, You?  Blink twice if you know what I mean."  Then the therapist blinks only once and Joan's family just looks at her as if she's crazy so she quickly responds, "I'm not crazy".

Yeah, that's a pretty funny moment. LOL It made me laugh out loud when I watched it for the first time. In fact I still have to grin about it. wink

I watched the trailer recently and it looks very interesting. Gotta find out when it's coming out here.

We don't have a GA thread here yet? I remember us talking about the show once.
Ah well, I decided to open a thread because the show has won a Golden Globe for Best Drama Television Series. Deserved, like I find.

And now we can go on with talking about the show.

#6607 Re: Introduce Yourself » hi » 16 Jan 07 :: 14:37

Ha, that reminds me of last year when I tried to stay up to watch the Oscar's. Didn't make it. LOL
And I do hope to see Chris on stage, receiving an award, too. Hopefully soon!

#6608 Re: Chris On Screen » Alpha Dog (STRONG LANGUAGE & ADULT CONTENT) » 16 Jan 07 :: 14:35

Cool review, I agree too. But I think American Gun was a dramatic role too. Ah, well. Maybe that guy didn't see American Gun.

I wanna SEE that movie NOW!!!! big_smile

#6609 Re: Chris On Screen » The Invisible » 16 Jan 07 :: 14:32

Since I think I know why Pete looks so broody I'd say I'd rather stare at the Happy!Pete picture. I guess I have to wait until I've seen the movie to state my opinion.

Cool review. Makes me wanna watch the movie right now. roll

Yeah, well, I have my strong views on sexual things too. I would never sleep with anyone I'm not in love with. There's nothing wrong with a bit of old-fashionedness. I've been raised to stay away from drink and drugs, and I'm proud of the fact that I've never touched a cigarette, never used drugs and have never been really drunk. Some might call that boring. Yeah, so what? What's so exciting about drinking until you can't control what you're doing and end up puking your guts out? I think we're all in good company here. smile

Same here. I have exactly the same view. Many people called me weird because I want sex to be something special to me or because I don't drink that much. They get at least one reason about me not smoking - my illness. But do you know what? I don't care if they think I am weird. In fact I am proud to be different from them. wink

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion and behavior. It's fine to have a strong view on this. I may find it odd, but then I have things that other people find odd about me, so... wink

Agreed.

You covered your eyes for sex scenes? Really? Sorry if I find that a little amusing. I can understand people covering their eyes for things like those ultra-cruel scenes in the Saw movies, but for a sex scene? Well, maybe I'm too old to get that. wink Or too non-American...

Yeah, it was quite the same here. I don't mind sex scenes though I sometimes find them a little too much. wink

Nicolas Kwasniewski (The Tic Code)
Hannes Maurer (Freddy Vs. Jason)
Ozan Ünal (Die himmlische Joan [Joan Of Arcadia], The Girl Next Door)
Johannes Wolko (Wild X-mas [Just Friends])

I thought we could use a new pic ...

I guess he's supposed to be angry here, but I thought it looks a little funny, too.

#6617 Re: Fanart » Can I make a request? » 14 Jan 07 :: 16:18

Well, mine looks a little crappy, but that was the best I could come up with in the middle of the night, so ...

#6618 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 14 Jan 07 :: 16:17

I had an idea for another line for the pic, Tina. What about "I can't believe I fraternized with the enemies!"?
I was thinking about the trailer, where he said "I can't believe we`re in enemy territory!", so I thought that would be funny, too.

I really did enjoy this movie however there were a few things that I didn't like such as these:
1. The cursing.  Man it was like they cursed every other word so that really got annoying.
2. The sex.  (but no matter, I always looked down when those parts were on.  Don't need to ruin my virgin eyes.)

Yeah, well, these thing belong to a movie like that, so if you watch the movie, you have to deal with it. I usually don't like that very much in movies either,  like those sex scenes in love movies or something, but I can understand why there have to be scenes like that in movies like Alpha Dog.

#6621 Re: Fanart » Can I make a request? » 14 Jan 07 :: 12:18

That's the best I could come up with in the middle of the night yesterday. I'll try again later.
I know I could do better, but this pic just doesn't speak to me. I mean, normally I love black/whilte shots, but that one ... I don't know.

Christopher Marquette was the surprise for me! I didn't know much about him and wasn't expecting too much, but he did so well! He was sort of a spaz, but sweet at heart... and I have to say, he was the only one that made me cry. Ben made me laugh and cringe and say, "You go, boy-- tell that kidnapper!" but Christopher holds the prestige of having made me cry.

Great review!

MATT: We hired Chris on "Freddy Vs Jason" and knew he was perfect for the role. Introduced him to Nick who (hired) him on the spot. Chris thanked me at the premiere for allowing him to take a chance like this as an actor - I will always try to hire him in everything I cast - Love him!

HA! I swear, I knew that since I watched that documentary about casting directors in Hollywood, where I found out that he was the casting director of Freddy vs. Jason too! That is FRIGGIN COOL!!! big_smile
