Im seeing Drive Angry 3D because of Amber Heard tomorrow. smile

I just saw Take Me Home Tonight and loved it! put me in the best mood. Highly recommend it! Dan Fogler stole the show to be honest.

I'll have to check it out.

I just got back from watching Topher Grace's new movie, Take Me home tonight. It was adorable and put me in a really good mood after a tough week.  If you liked the 80s movies like Say Anything and Adventures in Babysitting, you'll really enjoy this movie.  It was very uplifting for me!

I always liked Cordelia, more seo when she was on Angel.  That's good to hear Buffy actors are still attending those events.

Tuesday was a great day.  what happened to the rest of the week?

#805 Re: Square Eyes » Misc Stuff » 03 Mar 11 :: 04:16

interesting. I kind of like the two together although I'd prefer to have Ryan to myself smile tongue

So, if you don't already have them on dvd. Amazon is selling the collectors set of Buffy, all 7 seasons for $70 until this Sunday March 6th.

#808 Re: Square Eyes » Oscars 2011 » 02 Mar 11 :: 02:18

lol I did love black swan.  But i definately think the King's Speech was definately more worthy of an oscar.  Black Swan, although it was stunning and amazing to watch was way too disturbing.  Gave me nightmares for weeks to be honest! lol

Enjoyed chatting about the oscars with you guys! Until next year! smile

#809 Re: Square Eyes » Oscars 2011 » 28 Feb 11 :: 06:38

I can't believe King's Speech won.  I Really thought it would go to the Social Network. but I'm SOOOOO happy it did. Such a great movie, important story, still relevant to times today. I had a stuttering problem growing up so this movie meant a lot to me,and Seidler's speech too, topped with an incredible performance by one of my favorite actors!

Yes! I'm very happy for Colin Firth. Been a fan for decades! He's my Valmont.  And, um, my Merteuil is in da house to see it happen!

I know. I think I've been in love with him since I was 10 years old watching Valmont and Pride and Prejudice!  So glad Mr. Darcy has finally won an academy award!!!  This movie is truly amazing Deb.  You'll have to rent it when it comes out.  We've taken a poll and asked everyone who've seen it if they liked the movie.  No one has said no so far.

I had to stay up for the rest of the awards.  Couldn't say no to it.  It was nice to hear all the applause for Eisenberg's nomination.  Definately been a fan of his since Roger Doger and I know he'll be nominated in the future.

Also, I can report that Dana Bruneti, who was a producer on The Social Network has Tweeted that he's nervous.  He gets an Oscar if it wins Best Picture. I'm friends with him on Facebook because he was a producer on Fanboys.  He's also Kevin Spacey's longtime producing partner.  And co-founder of TriggerStreet, which started as a website to help new writers and has grown into a full-fledged production company.  I hope tonight is a HUGE triumph for them.

very cool.  I had to stay up for the director award. kind of suprised at King's Speech.   Thought it would sway towards Fincher to be honest.  Glad he won though, King's Speech so great.

Loved If I Rise performance with Florence.  Beautiful voice. Off to bed I go though.  Gotta rest for a busy week. Sad I can't enjoy the rest of them.  I'm sure I'll be able to hear the report tomorrow morning!

Sorkin's my guy, all the way even though I still haven't seen the movie.  I love Melissa Leo, haven't seen that one yet either.  Seidler is all class, haven't seen that one either.  Sucks having no money.  I'll catch up with all of them on DVD though.

I'm chatting with Mike Mayer, the director and Brian Ralston, the composer of Graduation about the Oscars on Facebook right now.  How weird, huh?

Very cool Deb!

I liked Colleen Atwood won too.  Seemed everyone was pleased with that. I loved Cate Blanchett's dress.  That clip of The Wolfman made me want to see it!

#815 Re: Square Eyes » Oscars 2011 » 28 Feb 11 :: 04:26

I'll have to check out Laurel Canyon.  The cinemetography in inception was incredible.   I was rooting for black swan though.  Glad that Aaron Sorkin won for best adapted screen play and I LOVED the speech that David Seidler gave for best screenplay for King's Speech.  Teared up a bit, can't wait to see that movie again.  Melissa Leo definately deserved the award for "The Fighter" too.

#816 Re: Square Eyes » Oscars 2011 » 28 Feb 11 :: 03:12

Here we go... I think its going to be a pretty predictable year for movies it seems.  Unless the academy decide to throw the old one-two like they sometimes do.

#817 Re: Square Eyes » Oscars 2011 » 20 Feb 11 :: 18:13

Some of the little promos of Anne and James for the oscars look cute.  I actually think they are going to do a great job hosting together!

#818 Re: Square Eyes » Netflix online .... » 20 Feb 11 :: 18:12

I can't watch those type of shows. Makes me too self conscious when I go to places.  Although to be off topic I am giving up meat for lent. We'll see how that goes!

I had a couple of netflix videos I had to send back because there just wasn't time to watch them. I downgraded to one at a time.  I think I have Anatomy of a Murder comming next. I've watched a lot of online 'Kipper the dog' and 'Dora' with my kindergartners during carpool.  One advantage to netflix streaming smile

That is a GREAT goal.  I think I'm going to steal it from you Samsy! lol

Stand By Me is one of my favorite Stephen King adaptations too.  I of course love Misery and The Shining.  But I haven't read either book yet.

Vacation trip with my mom. It's a guided tour kinda thing. We're taking a trip up the Mediterranean coast. Lots of sightseeing, hopefully nice landscape. It's something my mom wanted to do, because Turkey wouldn't really be a country where I'd choose to go if I planned my vacation. Still, I'm sure it's going to be a nice trip with lots to see. There's also friends of my mom who are coming, and one of them is also bringing her daughter.

Have a fabulous time!  Just for the future, my parents went to Turkey this past summer and loooved it.  They've travelled a lot and they said that was their favorite place they've been!  I hope  you and your mother see lots of interesting things and post some pictures when you can!!! Be safe!

Take advantage of the three day weekends at school.  That sounds like a good schedule to me!

Deb: I love that picture you posted!  Who did that? Where could I see her other stuff?

Congratulations on all the nominations Rick!

Anne: I hope you feel better soon and your stress levels out. I'm glad you found a doctor that could help you.

It's been a busy month with TAKS tutoring, New Orleans training and I finally moved into my new place.  It looks great! Just a few things left to hang on the wall and organize.  I'm so glad my parents staid this weekend instead of travelling. I wouldn't have been able to do it without them.  I'm glad to be out of my old apartment.  It was good for the time being but this place is just more updated and modern. My old apartment was built in the 50s and still had the original stove and oven. So its nice to have a kitchen that works!

We have to make up our snow days so on to work tomorrow.  We also have to go in two extra saturdays this month on top of the saturdays we are already working so that's basically a six day work week until spring break.  Grr.  All the other districts are getting a waiver since they missed so many days of school.  Of course ours has to be different.

smile I've only read 'Different Seasons' and 'Desperation Nevada' by Stephen King.  Desperation Nevada was so trippy that I quit reading him! I loved his short stories in Different Seasons.  My brother has a book club, they just read Cujo and his fiance was balling at the end of the book.  So between that, Misery, and the Stand, I think I'll have a busy summer.

#823 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Road Trippin' » 09 Feb 11 :: 19:51

keeping fingers crossed the snow and ice melt tomorrow so I can go to new orleans for my curriculum training.

I am excited about this movie.  I still need to read the book.

#825 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 04 Feb 11 :: 02:01

geez. What a mess simon.  Prayers are with you and Anne.

We got another snow day.  Can't believe it.  4 days off & science fair moved from saturday to the last saturday in February.  No longer allowed to complain about not having time to pack!  I've only got the kitchen and some fixtures left.

I saw the packers caravan down the road today.  They are practicing at my high school, the only indoor stadium in the sate.  It was kind of exciting, a long line of police patrolman.
