I can't believe I still have to see The Reader. That's one of the movies I wanted to see so badly and then just never got the chance to do so. But I WILL watch it soon!

Yeah, hello. We love to meet other JoA fans. We're pretty big ones over here. wink

Welcome to the boards and a Happy New Year!

#804 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 31 Dec 10 :: 13:20

Well, at least I got to go back to London in September and met a few other cool people in October. Thanks to RingCon October is still the best month of the year for me. LOL Guess that's not THAT bad at least ... but the rest of the year pretty much sucked.

I can't wait for this year to be over. I hope 2011 will be better. If I had a free wish I'd wish 2008 back. It's been a great year, except for the fact that Heath Ledger died on my birthday.

Or gone to see the 3D version in English.

That's what I did even though I can't see 3D, but I'd rather watch 3D than endure a stupid dubbing. I can still read it in German sometime. Oh, and I'll start reading the books next year. I should have done that ages ago.

#809 Re: Joan of Arcadia » No bad guy ((spoiler if you havnt seen this episode in season 1)) » 30 Dec 10 :: 00:17

Hey, I REMEMBER her saying it to him! It's ringing in my ears right now! How could I ever forget it! Besides if you want to say "I love you" to someone, you don't have to use those words each time. There are plenty of other words you can use, too. Those people are idiots who don't get the show. Period.

Wow, there are people who don't get that? yikes Do they know what love is? I mean, I understand it's a TV show and it's fake, but ... that doesn't change that it's a beautiful, well-acted emotional scene! It's PERFECT!!!

#812 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Birthday Thread » 29 Dec 10 :: 23:31

Is it okay if I borrow this wallpaper for a while? I need a new one for after NYE since my current one is a calender WP for December 2010 ....

#813 Re: Joan of Arcadia » No bad guy ((spoiler if you havnt seen this episode in season 1)) » 29 Dec 10 :: 23:28

Sorry for warming up this really old topic, but I watched No Bad Guy earlier today and it made me realize how much I LOVE the last scene of the episode ... I think that's really the most emotional, BEAUTIFUL "Two people telling each other they love each other" scene I've ever seen in a TV show (and I've seen a lot of those moments since I watch a lot of TV shows!). Really. I think I need to watch this more often. :embarrassed:

#814 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Birthday Thread » 28 Dec 10 :: 17:20

I really hope it will be available at my OV theatre. It would suck if I had to miss it. They already didn't have Nowhere Boy, a movie I'd really like to see sometime.

#815 Re: Introduce Yourself » Hi! » 28 Dec 10 :: 01:46

You did? Oh. LOL Well, I guess I didn't notice the quotation marks before. It's getting late here, you know? wink

#816 Re: Introduce Yourself » Hi! » 28 Dec 10 :: 01:25

Hey Ashley, welcome to the boards. I was just about to mention the questionaire, too! LOL
Yeah, it would be awesome if you shared the story how you got to meet Chris! We love reading/hearing about the meetings.
I hope you'll have a lot of fun here on the boards. We may seem like a bunch of crazy people sometimes, but we're pretty harmless actually. wink

#817 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Birthday Thread » 27 Dec 10 :: 14:15

And again, Happy Birthday to Deb! :hug:

#818 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 24 Dec 10 :: 15:38

Glad to hear you arrived safely in Berlin, Kate. How do you like it so far? I've been to our capital city two times now, but the last time was in 2007 and it's sooo far away from where I live ... *sigh*

#819 Re: The Bullhorn » Merry Christmas! » 24 Dec 10 :: 15:35

Happy Chris*tmas to everyone from me, too!
Nice picture, thanks for sharing.

Sorry about the job samsy.  I hope the new year brings you some good luck!
Glad you liked Narnia. I only saw the first one. I need to watch the others too.  I've heard its good!

I haven't seen the second one either. A staff member asked me if I had read the books before, but sadly I haven't! They are waiting on my shelf, though, and I'll start reading next year. smile
I would have preferred to watch it in 2D too, but since my theatre only has it in 3D I went there on a Tuesday because the showing are cheaper on Tuesday and, as you may know, I can't see 3D. The good thing was I still did get my voucher signed. They only sign it if you have to spend more than 5 Euro on a movie and normal 2D movies are 5 Euro on Tuesday, so I made a rule of that. If I have to watch a movie in 3D, which is 2D for me too, I'll see it only on Tuesdays. I can see normal movies on any other day of the week because I still get a bit of reduction since I have an ID for people with special needs (or however you call that in English).
I might go back next week to see another movie. I even thought about going on New Years Eve, but now I'm going to spend that at some of my parents's friends' house, so I can't. Maybe next year then.

Same here!

In other news, I finally have my christmas presents together (at least the ones I need on christmas day) and managed to see the new Narnia movie today. It was really good! Might go back another time between christmas and New Year's Eve for another movie, just have to decide which one. And I forgot to ask them about Nowhere Boy.
And I got another rejection letter the other day. I even went there for a job interview, but that didn't help either. Oh well. They were weird anyway. They ask the people to send in their papers by post, clearly saying "Not via email!" and then they reject you by email. What a joke. roll Oh well, new year new chances, I guess. Hopefully. hmm
