Hey Sean, nice to see you drop in. I've been meaning to reply to your Wildfire e-mail, it was hilarious. Sounds like you had a great time. Shame you didn't get to meet Nana Visitor. Thanks so much for sharing. The past couple of days I haven't managed to do anything. I think I'm coming down with something, but it's not breaking free. Which really sucks, because I'm not sick enough to stay home but I'm miserable the whole day at work. (No, Deb, it hasn't gotten better today, if at all worse because I already woke up with a headache.) Maybe I should see a doc about this. But I want to do that as much as I want to do anything else these days.

Well, anyway, didn't mean to whine and yammer. I'll get there somehow. The way I know my luck, I come down with the cold of the century over the weekend, so that I can go to work again on Monday. <sigh>

Yeah, now he says he's sorry, but that he just wanted to see if anyone would jump to Chris's defense. What did that airbrain expect? That people would chime in and nod fervently? I'm not gonna answer this post, at least not right now. Much less will I accept his apology. If he's sorry, he shouldn't have posted that shit in the first place.

Well, some jerk on the IMDb board said that! I didn't write down his name. Nor do I care. I hope to never "see" this person again.

Yeah, I just hope the actors or whoever's being insulted don't project these people's bad behavior onto all the other obsessed but harmless people out there.

And, Deb? I don't know if the other actors' boards are spammed with these jerks, but I'm guessing they're everywhere. I mean, these kinds of people were on the Huff board, right? I don't think Huff and Chris are exceptions. But I could be wrong. I don't scan other IMDb boards.

This is for the jerks at the IMDb boards, Chris's board in particular. Because I am just getting so annoyed again. Really, I don't know why I keep going there. It just makes me sick to read public posts like "I want to beat him up because I hate his happy-go-lucky attitude" or "he's a jerk because I called him Adam and he wouldn't answer to that name" or "he looks like someone who should be named Rufus". Man!

Seriously, why do people go out there and post that crap? They make all the good people on the internet and message boards look bad. Maybe that's what they want, but I still don't get it. It makes my stomach turn to think Chris (or whoever else is being insulted personally) might go there and read that shit. I really really hope he knows he has a bunch of loyal and decent fans out there who won't lower themselves to that level.

So, IMDb jerks, this is for you: YOU STINK!!!

(I know our rules say "be respectful to others", but these guys don't deserve that kind of respect.) hmm

Yeah, but do we really need a Fanboys DVD to cap?  We have most of it already, as well as even better stuff --- takes that didn't get used and behind the scenes stuff.  If anyone who reads this obvious tease really wants to see all this stuff, you'll have to stick around till we're given permission to use it.  Most likey, that will happen closer to or immediately after the film's release.

Calvin pics I would "die" for.

Do we need a Fanboys DVD? YES!!! I bet you there will be soooo many scenes and facial expressions in the movie that we don't have pictures of yet. And they will probably be at other angles. I mean, yes, sure, we have all these wonderful pictures to look at, but what good is it if we can't share them and discuss them publicly? That's only half the fun. And I'm not sure we'll ever be allowed to really use these pics..... (which would suck).

Plus I want to make vidcaps off the DVD. And see extras. And drool over Linus. And hear his voice. And show it to everyone I know who likes Star Wars.

Man, I can't WAIT to see Calvin pics. Maybe we could e-mail the ProdCo again. Should put that on our to-do list.

And just how strange is it that we are the first people to put these clips online? That video tape Deb made (thank you!!!) had to make it across the Altantic for me to turn it into computerized video clips and upload them. We've been waiting to see Chris in this episode for how long? A year now? And now look at us being the ones to supply the Dorquette community with another gorgeous looking, deep-rumbly voice Chris. Somehow Nicole and/or Melissa should have done this ages ago.

But let's not complain. We should be bouncing instead of yammering. We've got grown-up Marc to look at now. And I love him in that tux.

For your information, clip 1 is around 3.5 MB, clip 2 14 MB and clip 3 10 MB. Susanna, you still have dial-up, right? Man, I don't know how I could live without DSL!

Now, please, can we see Calvin Marshall be released? Or Fanboys? Hm. I'm getting greedy. But can you blame me?

Oh, and just FYI: I will work on making clips from his other SM episodes that Deb put on the tape. I think there are three or four more. smile

Here's what Deb sent to me by e-mail the other day. It's about the bad writing in "Trial and Error" and Deb having a real hard time with the assassination of Adam as a character in that episode:

Barbara Hall strolls down the corridor at Television City (where CBS has their offices).  Suddenly, she's jumped from behind and knocked to the floor.  Beside her ear, she feels the hot breath and hears the low, menacing voice of a stranger.

James: What the fuck do you think you're doing?
BH: Um, going to the soda machine?
James: Yeah, well, I've got some questions for you and your answers better be good.
BH: Could you let me up first?

The young stranger steps off and lets Barbara drag herself up.  She eyes him cautiously.

BH: You look familiar.
James: Well, I don't come here often and I'm sure a million guys look like me.
BH: Well, maybe just this one guy.
James: That's what I'm here to talk to you about.  You fucked with my friend and now I'm gonna exact my revenge.  It is Biblical what I'm gonna do to you.
BH: I have no idea what you're talking about.
James: You will...

#8464 Re: All About Chris » The Brothers Marquette » 14 Aug 06 :: 20:11

When did Chris say he wanted to go to acting school after high school?  What was he, a little kid?  He don't need no stinking acting lessons!  He learned on the job.  So Chris, if by chance you ever read this, forget about it!  You're done with school.  You could teach classes yourself, my friend!

I don't remember when it was, but he said it in an interview. Probably a couple of years ago now. And I didn't mean to say he needed acting lessons. I was just saying that no matter how good you are at your job, there's always something you can still learn. I'm thinking theater acting skills. Chris hasn't done a lot of theater, but I think often it helps to have knowledge in areas you're not immediately confronted with to build upon that knowledge and use it for something else that you're doing. They teach things like proper breathing and intonating words in acting school, don't they?

Again, I don't mean to say Chris needs to learn this. I was just saying there are still things out there he might (want to) learn that he's not skilled in yet. (That he doesn't need to be skilled in, but could use them nevertheless.)

I don't know if now he will ever want to go back to school. You know, having been out of school and university for about five years now, I think I'm done with school. I don't really feel the urge to study again, to have to learn for tests and hold seminar talks about things that you often don't give a rat's ass about. But some people get bored with their life and job after a while, so they decide to go to school again or study at uni or whatever. They need the challenge. I had a co-student at uni like that. She was a nurse for six years and then decided to study biology at university at the age of 26.

I assume Chris is enjoying himself way too much in what he's doing right now to want to go back to school right now. He might feel that way one day, though. Or he might not. We'll never know.

Also, I kinda meant we could use this thread for sightings that are upcoming, not in the past.  But, whatever.

I guess it can go either way, right?

#8465 Re: Introduce Yourself » Hey » 14 Aug 06 :: 13:06

Yes, PowerDVD should do it. Windows MediaPlayer should also do it. It might be that you don't have the DivX codec installed if you've never used it, but you can download that for free (www.divx.com). But maybe you should wait until you receive my DVDs. If they don't play or you only have video and no sound or sound and no video, then it might just be that you don't have the right codec. Scream for help if that happens. smile

And I always recommend the free VLC player because that one can pretty much play anything. I often use it when I watch downloaded stuff on the TV via TV-out jack of my laptop. Google it if you want to give it a try, I don't know the URL for the site now.

#8469 Re: All About Chris » The Brothers Marquette » 14 Aug 06 :: 07:28

Now, let's see, where else did we have these two that we've seen/know of. Of course Sean was in 13 Going On 30 (which I haven't seen) and in episode 12x17 of NYPD Blue. He was on The 4400, like you said, as Boyd Gelder in episode 3x04. Both of which we have vidcap snippets on the website (once it goes live). And screencaps in the gallery. Would be really cool if Boyd would come back in a later episode! Would be even cooler if he became a regular. If we can't get a Chris fix, we'll grudgily accept a Sean fix, right?

Eric I've only really seen once, in CSI (Las Vegas), episode 3xsomething. The episode where some kids tried to imitate Jackass. I think it was called "A Night At The Movies", but I might be mistaken. Eric doesn't seem to be pursuing acting right now, he hasn't done anything in a long time, has he? Maybe he's off to college.

You know, putting all those interviews on the website, in one of them Chris said he wanted to go to acting school after high school. Doesn't look like that's gonna happen any time soon, not with him working like crazy the way he is at the moment. He already is a great actor, but I don't doubt that even he could still learn things in school. I kinda hope he gets the chance to go some day soon. Even if that will mean even less Chris exposure for us. Is there a point at which you become too old to go? Or did he even go and we don't know?

Had a dream with Chris in it? Share it here!

Yep, it happened again. Chris guest-starred in a really weird dream I had this morning. It wasn't him as a person, though, I dreamed about something being shown on the screen that he was in. It's all hazy now, but it wasn't one of the movies he's got lined up, it was something completely different. I even think it was more like a documentary, or like those fake documentaries, where they imitate things that really happened to someone else.

It's wasn't very spectacular, but I kept thinking it's good that I have this on DVD now, so that I can make screencaps for the website. Darn! Wish that was true. Although I'd much rather have a Fanboys or Calvin Marshall DVD, and not some weird thing that he didn't totally rock in that weirded me out.

Hi Susanna, glad you found your way over here. Anne is still on vacation and Deb is away for the weekend too, so it's just you and me for now. Unless Sean comes find us, but he usually only talks about the Fanboys stuff. Which is fine. smile

Yeah, "that cute guy". I can't say I'm much into Grace/Luke. I mean, I kinda see the appeal of them being attracted to each other, but I don't really see them in a long term relationship. Deb's even gone as far as making Grace be bisexual in our "Butterflies" fan fiction story, and she's currently with a girl. And that's kinda fun to write.

You bet we're gonna see more of Chris in the future! We must!!

And we also have the same problem in Germany, we only get mostly the mainstream stuff. Especially me, who hates dubbing and wants to watch movies in their original language. Only very few are shown here without dubbing, and it's mostly always the big mainstream blockbuster ones. What am I gonna do when Fanboys comes on??? I'm pretty sure they won't show that one without dubbing. Man..... But let's worry about that when the time is here.

Die mag ich ja überhaupt nicht.

Aber wir wollen ja hier nicht von Nicholas Cage reden.
