Here's a link to Larry-411's review.

If Larry reads this I have a question.

Larry, did you watch the original 1967 Speed Racer cartoon and how does the movie compare to the cartoon it's based on. Is it faithful to it?

Instead of one of the Movie Money tickets I got three.

Since I don't go to the theater anymore, I'll either keep them or give one or two to a friend.

I picked up the Target exclusive dvd this morning.

Sorry it's so small but got it off the Target site.

Anyways, it runs 31 minutes and has many of the cast in a "mockumentary" about the Racer family. Of course some new scenes from the film are shown.

Since I wait until the dvd release to see all movies, it'll be 5 or 6 months until I see any of the summer blockbusters.

I'm not a comic-book geek, but aware of the character. I'm more of a movie geek.
It's still not one of my must see films of the summer, but it's something I'm interested in seeing.

Kind of reminds me of The Rocketeer for obvious reasons. Which is a film I also liked.

Getting a little tired of seeing Stan Lee cameos, oh look he's in Spider-Man, X-Men or Fantastic 4. Kind of ruins the scene he's in because all I see is Stan Lee.

Personally I'm more interested in seeing Speed Racer (huge fan of the Mach 5), Indiana Jones, Get Smart (hopefully as good as the series) and the Dark Knight.

I was expecting that IRS economic stimulus payment to be in my account today (since I am in the group that is supposed to get it first) and it's not.

I think it'll likely be deposited on Friday as they originally said it would. At least I wasn't counting on it for anything important.

Premiere pics. As far as I could see no Chris.

So neat that they had a full size Mach 5 replica at the premiere.

Got it today from Best Buy. Their exclusive dvd didn't come in the nice sleeve that's pictured above, just a plain white envelope.

Anyways. here are my thoughts.

The beginning is kind of boring with them going to the party up till the first attack. But once the attack happens it gets much better. I must say the best thing about the movie is the sound. Really great sound and sound effects throughout the movie. The way they slowly reveal the creature is similar to Jaws. The creature design is a disappointment imo. I don't think it'll become iconic like Godzilla.

My favorite scenes is the very first military attack on the creature. Very well done. Then of course the finale where they fully reveal the creature from above.

Some things I didn't like. The Hud character. His constant saying "Oh my God" and "Shit" over and over got annoying. It's a little hard to know the characters or to follow where they are sometimes in the scene. Some of the scenes are a tad too dark which makes following what is happening on screen difficult at times.

Overall better than Enchanted, but not as good as it could have been. I think I would say on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 7

I was only going by what the CLT showed. Did Chris really sing in that movie?

It's the only Price of Egypt that is listed in either 3 variations of his name, so that's why I thought it was a mistake. IMDB doesn't list him either in that movie.

Just thought I'd post in case anyone cares.

The DVD Profiler site has a credit lookup tool which counts how many times a person is credited in dvd profiles.

Chris Marquette in 36 titles
Christopher Marquette in 11 Titles
Christopher George in 4 titles.

I also found some which maybe mistakes.
For example someone entered a Netherlands dvd profile for The Prince of Egypt with a role of Hebrew Child (singing voice).

I could provide a link, but it won't do any good if you don't have a user name on the site.

Got this from the garage sale for 25 cents, opened but each keep case was still sealed. So basically brand new.

Can't find a artwork, but also got a double feature from Digiview, "Creature from the Haunted Sea/ She Gods of Shark Reef.

I watched Creature and it was just so bad it was funny. The creature looks like Mr. Hanky (South Park) coming out of the water.

Here is a pic of the creature.

I also got another Digiview dvd called Omega Cop, which for a low budget action film isn't too bad. Not great, well far from great, but a dumb action film.

I went to a garage sale today.

Bought a Shrek 2 board game for $1.00, a pasta strainer for 50 cents, a John Wayne (9 film collection) DVD for 25 cents and I got a large box of pads of paper & folders for free.

I'm starting to collect Speed Racer stuff and General Mills has a really cute Speed Racer Mach 5 cereal bowl that you send off for. So I'm thinking of buying some GM cereal and getting that, and in May starts McD's Speed Racer toys, of course I'm not interested in the Trixie toys, but going to try and get the cars from them.

Actually I like Hungry Man dinners in general, it was just I tried this new flavor and didn't like it.

I really like their Beer battered chicken with cheese fries, and their Boneless chicken.

Their Sports Grill hamburger isn't too good.

Meijer had them on sale for $2 each, whereas Jewel had them for 2 for $7.

Banquet is pretty bad and so is Budget Gourmet (or whatever it goes by now).

I can't believe the gas prices around here. Yesterday I spend $3.51 a gallon and a total of $34 to fill up my car. The Shell gas station is around $3.63 a gallon and I've seen it as high as $3.69 a gallon. I'm sure it'll cost more than $35 to fill up next week.
