I'm starting to like this series.
I'm following way too many as it is...
TV junkie...
Could be worse. You could be a junk food junkie !
If cookies are biscuits in England, what do they call actual biscuits?
Simon.
Feel better, kiddo. I have had a toothache the past few days, so I feel your pain. Kinda.
Jason Ritter's new movie:
He's not allowed either. It's just creepy.
Back in the day, performing in black face was not uncommon. I am a huge fan of the music of Al Jolson, and he was probably the most famous proponent of so-called "minstrel" singing.
I think that its interesting that (in his movie Bamboozled) Spike Lee seemed to be equating a great many of today's hip/hop/rappers with the likes of Stepin Fetchit & Mantan Moreland, in that many of them have become caricatures.
I could, of course, have read the movie entirely incorrectly, but I don't think so.
I guess that Simon doesn't like digestives with his tea ![]()

Yeah, she's Jason's girlfriend. I'd like to see that one. Should probably queue it up in Netflix.
They had a certain chemistry, but I find that Jason plays off almost all females really well. Kinda like me in that way
A very odd movie, indeed. The box of the DVD tries to make the film look like a wacky rom-com, which it most certainly isn't.
I Netflix'ed it, so that I can watch it again with (I hope) the director's commentary.
I watched a bit of this (very) odd movie early this morning. Jason Ritter plays a peculiar video store clerk who sort of stalks a young lady who apparently (from what I could tell) hates him.
Marianna Palka plays the young lady. She also wrote and directed the film.
I will watch the rest of it later on today.
Here is a pretty fun "slasher" movie that featured a very young Jason Alexander (with hair !)
It was also the first film produced by Harvey Weinstein, who also wrote the story (brother Bob did the screenplay) !
NOTE - the Weinstein brothers were originally concert promoters in Buffalo, NY., known as "Harvey & Corky".

I really enjoyed the Jaws rip-off called Grizzly, aka Claws. I recall seeing Grizzly, a true B movie, at the classic University theatre in Toronto. The University can be seen, briefly, at the start of Strange Brew.
Grizzly, while awful, is a great "crap" movie.

Deb, you'll be pleased to hear that when Sarah Palin showed up in the movie, there were hisses in the theatre ![]()
I really want to see it, Shell. But I can't afford it. How telling is that?
Moore has stated that he has no problem with peeps downloading pirated copies.
We saw the $5 matinee.
Of course, this is provocateur Michael Moore's latest film, all about the financial crisis.
Its really well made, like his films always are, and quite thought provoking.
My wife, a wonderful lefty who works for a bank, turned to me (crying) and told me that she has to get into a new line of work ![]()
I would love to see this movie get made:
I would like to wish the happiest of Happy Birthdays to you, Carol !!
All the best !!
I hadn't thought about that, but I can certainly see what you're saying. My Bodyguard is one of my favorite films.
It just struck me that "Mick," and "Moody" are the kind of characters who seem ready to explode in violence at the drop of the proverbial hat.
It was interesting seeing Jason Ritter play such a badass. And, similar to my own experiences with "bullies," in real life, he did a great job of showing the subtleties of his character. What I mean is that pretty well all of the so-called "bullies" that I knew growing up, were basically decent human beings.
I was scared of those guys, but I never got a beating, although I probably deserved one many times.
I really enjoyed Charlie Banks; who'd have thought that Fred Durst would be such a good director ?
Did anyone else think of Matt Dillon's "Moody" character from My Bodyguard as a sort of inspiration for Jason Ritter's "Mick" ?
I did for some reason.
Oh yeah, Eva Amurri is flippin' gorgeous. I will probably be watching Californication now, even though I sorta hate that show.
I tried. I was really excited about it, but last night I wasn't feelin' it either. I'm not sure if I just wasn't in the mood or if it just wasn't that exciting. The previews for upcoming eps looked really good and I'll be happy to see Dom Monoghan, but I don't know... So far, I'm pretty luke warm about it. I don't think I can take another show as convoluted as Lost.
I don't mind convoluted/confusing series, actually. My head usually hurts after watching LOST, but it hurts in a good way.
I expect to be watching FlashForward at least until it starts getting goofy.
A propos of diddley, the show vaguely reminds me of a great movie from way-back-when called The Quiet Earth.
That movie has one of the most surreal conclusions that I have ever seen.
I'm excited. One of my favorite UFO researchers, Jose Escamilla --- who is my friend on Facebook --- sent me a copy of his screenplay for The Battle Of Los Angeles today. I can't wait to read it! I'm not sure if it's the one that's actually been optioned for a feature film, or if he's writing his own project also based on the infamous incident. Either way, it should be very interesting.
What infamous incident ?
Six Degrees of Rita Hayworth --
Rita Hayworth was in The Money Trap with Ricardo Montalban, who
once had a nice lunch with Ernie Kovacs and Edie Adams !
I knew there was a connection.
Its anybody's guess who the first lady during the In Memoriam clip (before Gale Storm) was. Kinda looked like Rita Hayworth, but she passed away years ago.
I'm too lazy to see if I already posted about this wonderful movie, or not, so here we go again, possibly.
See it if you get the chance and then watch it again with the director's (Greg Mottola) commentary. He is joined by Jesse Eisenberg on the commentary. Jesse essentially plays the director as a young man in the movie.
I still don't think that there is a character on SKINS that is even remotely likable, with the possible exception of Thomas. All of the kids on the show are well fit, though. I especially find April Pearson very pretty.
