Oh, I meant to tell you guys that my boss said today she's done her budget and she can afford me through December, so it looks like I'm OK till at least the first of the year. If things work out and we keep sales up, I think it'll all work out. But we still need to sublet our office and move into a smaller, cheaper space.
Best of luck, Deb.
I dunno, but I never had a problem with giving Jane some kind of adversary. I assume that "God" was still going to be around, and I could have easily seen, say, Russ Tamblyn's dog walker God handily defeating Ryan Hunter in a dance-off, thus resolving that storyline in a colourful fashion.
Yeah, that Virtual Season 3 thing pissed me right off. You could tell they hated Adam. I stopped reading it after only a few chapters. Never cared about the Ryan Hunter thing anyway.
Well, I never hated Adam, so maybe I won't read that Virtual Season 3, but I will always be curious as to where JoA would have gone with that storyline. Why do you dislike it so much, Deb ?
I'd like to wish a very special Happy Birthday to a visionary writer named Herbert George Wells....
In his honour, we should all eat some pommes-frites today :grovel:
Yay, Cherry Jones!
Oooh, Vampire Bill and Angel presenting together. Yowwwwrrrrr...
As much as I like Cherry Jones' Prez on "24," I still kinda miss Charles Logan, last seen recovering from a butter knife attack, as I recall.
I love actors. And writers. That's just who I am.
I love good donuts and a cup of coffee :dancing:
Are there any fanfics that resolve the Ryan Hunter storyline ?
I really want The Outsiders: The Complete Novel on DVD. I just haven't been able to find it cheap anywhere. It's got an amazing array of goodies on it. I love that movie, as cheesy and over-the-top as it is...
Actually, Rumblefish is very good, if overly arty, and Tex is also nifty. I wonder why Matt Dillon's co-star in that, Jim Metzler, didn't become more famous. He was a good actor.
I'm the kind of vegetarian that likes a bloody steak at least once a month.
You'd like the cafeteria at the John C. Lincoln Hospital here in Phoenix. The food is excellent and quite reasonably priced, and I get a discount because I'm a volunteer. I once ordered their prime rib which was so bloody that it kinda grossed me out, and I didn't eat it :puke:
Have you seen Melvin & Howard or The Butcher's Wife, Shell? Mary sings, but she ain't no Cyndi Lauper.
Of course I saw Melvin & Howard. The Butcher's Wife, nopers.
From what I've read previously, it was actually Cyndi Lauper. :-)
Cool
Was that Mary Steenburgen singing La Vie en Rose at the end of the episode ?
You know what, no idea. Unless it was just the writer of that ep.
It is a lovely poem. This punter liked it, too.

I am presently watching the latest JoA marathon that the TiVo recorded for me when I was in Canada.
The one that I'm watching now has Kimberly McCullough in it. I was shocked to read (on IMDB) that she's nearly 32 years of age ! My Mum used to be a fan of General Hospital, so I knew Kim from that, as well as her stint on Once and Again.
Who (in real life) actually wrote "Sewer Walking" ?
I doubt that I will ever tire of listening to them:
He was funny. I always liked him, especially when I was a kid.
Same here; my favourite of his poems was "The Butterfly," though I can't recall how it went.
While I was back home, the TiVo recorded a whole bunch of Chris-centric stuff, even Alpha Dog, which I have so far avoided, because I actually go out of my way to avoid kids like that in real life. I mean "pseudo" delinquents. They frighten me.
Oddly, quite a few of the "pseuds" come into the food bank, and they usually end up being quite pleasant, despite their scary appearance(s).
This guy walked out of Life During Wartime
I always liked him best in The Outsiders. He seemed like a good guy.
Wow, Eva Ammuri is going to be on the next season of Californication. That's great...
I wonder if she'll get all naked
I bought this one in Toronto for $2.99; if you haven't seen it, its defintely worth a look:
If you paid more than $5 to see "Extract," I guarantee that you will feel gypped :silly:
Happy Birthday, Simon !!
Glad that I didn't forget, or did I

MONTREAL - A joke about Barack Obama being assassinated and other controversial humour from a satirical television show has landed the French-language CBC a scolding from the national broadcast regulator.
The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission declared in a ruling Monday that the Radio-Canada network breached a number of licence conditions last year during its annual satirical New Year's Eve show.
It has ordered the public broadcaster to apologize to its viewers for segments of last year's "Bye Bye" show which featured cracks about blacks, anglophones, spousal abuse, and the U.S. president.
The national regulator says it received more than 250 complaints about the show.
In one of the more outrageous sketches, a comedian suggested during an interview that Obama would be easy to kill because the first black president would stand out against the White House.
Thanks again for all the Birthday wishes. I don't feel 49
