24 didn't just get a few awards, Kiefer won Best Actor and the show got Best Drama, just for the record.  And my boyfriend (ahem),  Steve Carell's show, The Office got Best Comedy.

That often happens with kid actors who are not famous, that they get no recognition even when they play the main character.  If he'd been one of the Disney kids in the 50s, 60s and 70s, you would never see his name on the poster or the box art.  Disney had these two kids, Tommy Kirk and Kevin Corcoran and they were huge stars in the Disney stable, starting out as Mousketeers.  But their names were never on the posters for the movies they did, like Old Yeller, The Shaggy Dog, etc.  The only exceptions to this were Hayley Mills, Jodie Foster and Kurt Russell, and I suspect that's because their very smart parents forced the issue.

One of the anomalies *might* be something, but the other one is a little mysterious.  Guess we'll never know.  And for the record, I don't go looking for these things.  That one just really caught my eye.

No, she didn't tell any reasons.  But we don't need any.  The show was supposedly drawing less than one million viewers a week.  No show can last with those numbers.  It's just very sad.

But I did learn the proper way to pronounce Anton's last name, it's Yelssin.

From the Keeper of Pocket Anomalies, there is a right pocket anomaly (or two?) in screen caps 49 - 54 in the Reacreation album.

Cool! Blythe Danner just won her second Emmy in a row for playing Izzy.  She talked a lot about the cancellation.  But she was still happy to win again.  Oliver Platt was nominated for playing Russell too, but he lost.

OMG!  Sean is so cute in that WAT ep.  I just like him more and more every time I see him.  Go Sean!

The Gift.  <sigh>  I've been stuck on that ep for days.  I just watched it with commentary last night.  They really don't say much that's interesting, except that JOA was trying to deal with teen sex in a very anti-OC way.  Which, or course, I loved.

And then they had to wreck that whole idea in S2.

Yeah, definitely keep the grungy and menacing.  Love that!

Oh, I just meant when I asked you about capping the Adam/Helen scene from Silence, you didn't say, "dude, the'yre already there", so I guess I just never knew they were.  Didn't look at the caps from all the JOA eps before we started the whole "let's cap the non-A/J scenes" thing and I didn't think to check back once I realized there was a good one in that ep.  Doh!

Coolness.  Thanks for doing that little taste of Sam for us, TeeJay.  I bet we're going to come out of Fanboys really digging the guy like we do a lot of Chris's other important co-stars.

That pic wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't on the front page.  Just sayin'.

See?  Told ya!  I knew there would be an awesome puppy dog eyes shot in that scene.  You didn't tell me you made caps for that scene.  Wow!

Well, I'm sure Hutch could steal the show in the eyes of the dudes in the audience, and probably the SW or ST fans.  Though Seth Rogen is getting raves.  Go Seth!  I'm sure they both bring the funny.  But in our eyes, no one wil ever steal the show from Chris.  Of course.  smile

If I were going to DragonCon, and Sean happened to be there, I would wear him out talking about his bro, poor kid.  I'd print something out with our web and personal info on it so he could check us out and let Chris know that if he wants a real official site, he should give us a call.  Sadly, I won't be there this year.  sad

#18543 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Breaking news: Smoking is bad for your health » 26 Aug 06 :: 01:19

You know, something suddenly hit me on the way home.  If we're going to have this very strong anti-smoking post on the boards, maybe we should replace that picture of James smoking on the index page of the site.  Wouldn't want us to look like hypocrites, touting this cool character smoking and then railing against doing so on the boards.

#18544 Re: All About Chris » The Brothers Marquette » 25 Aug 06 :: 22:22

Gee, what do ya reckon Sean and Amber were there in support of?  For Amber, probably The Grudge 2, which I'm sure was trailered at the Con.  But what about Sean?  And what in the world is he signing?

And now let's hear someone try to say that Rodriguez is not a hispanic name.  I knew it was before I even saw Mr. R's full name.  I still wonder if he's Cuban.  That would make the most sense.  At least now we know where George came from --- an Americanization of Jorge, which is pronounced, Hor-hey.

Hi Ken,

Nice to see you here.  And I echo the thanks from TeeJay about using the pics.  We love them, just couldn't resist putting them up.

Man, I meant to put a sticker on my car when I went to lunch, but I guess it'll have to wait till I leave work now because I just plain forgot.  Oh well.

#18546 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Breaking news: Smoking is bad for your health » 25 Aug 06 :: 20:29

Wow, this is turning into a full-fledged crusade, isn't it?  Well, smoking killed my mom and dad, so carry on!

Girls, Sean,

The Fanboys stickers have arrived and are in my hands!  Woohoo!  They look even better in person than they do on the message board.  We have two each, which is great because I don't know how much longer I'm going to have my current car.  Thanks Sean!  You rock, dude!

I would love it if they accused me of working for him.  I would love it if we got such a reputation over there for keeping the MB clean of negative garbage that someone with his management took notice.  Just thought about that last night.  Let them accuse me.  I'll take the job!

#18549 Re: All About Chris » All you IMDb jerks out there » 24 Aug 06 :: 23:19

Mission accomplished.  For now anyway.  The front page of messages at IMDb no longer has any of that nasty crap on it.  Only interesting, fun, nice stuff.  And lots of teasing about our site.  Let's see how long we can keep it that way.

#18550 Re: All About Chris » All you IMDb jerks out there » 24 Aug 06 :: 22:58

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

This is from an IMDber who was an extra on Graduation and who's not a jerk:

"I also saw him up close and personal. I got pictures with him and an autograph. The guy couldn't have been any nicer. He's very sweet, and I agree with someone else's post...he was rather shy. I got to be an extra for the graduation scene, but would have rather done the prom scene. It looked pretty cool. My brother is an assistant director on the film, or else I probably wouldn't have gone or gotten to meet anyone famous."

Yeah, I'm over there again.  I'm done with my work and I'm trying to clear all the bad messages of the first IMDb page by replying to the good messgaes and sending them to the top.  Hey, it's worth a shot.
