Based on our experience with the release of movies with Chris maybe it's a sign that he didn't mention the year that fall is in ...

#2 Re: Square Eyes » Misc Stuff » 10 Oct 13 :: 16:25

I miss going to the movies regularly but I've only been once sonce my move. We saw The Smurfs and it was even dubbed. I hope I can go back to my OV theatre soon. I feel like I missed a lifetime of movies. lol

#3 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 10 Oct 13 :: 16:23

Being on sick leave sucks. I wanna go back to work. Well, I will be on Monday. And then I'll only have to work Monday to Wednesday, because I applied for a short vacation because it's RingCon again! I should be happy, but I miss work so much!

#4 Re: All About Chris » Miscellaneous Stuff » 10 Oct 13 :: 16:22

Dorquette Con, sounds perfect! If I can keep my job, maybe there's a chance that I could make it to Texas next year ... I just don't know yet. But I would be SO there!

#5 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Pet discussions » 10 Oct 13 :: 16:17

I just saw it on Facebook! I'm so so sorry!  sad

#6 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Pet discussions » 02 Oct 13 :: 22:37

Yeah, I read that on FB. I was shocked. I know how much you love your pets. And it still brings back memories about the time I had to say goodbye to Momo. But I know, whatever amount of time she has left with you, you will make the best of it for her and she knows that.

#7 Re: Chris On Screen » 10 Rules for Sleeping Around » 02 Oct 13 :: 22:34

I still wish I could see it. I'm sick at home right now, so there is plenty of time to watch crap on TV but since Chris is in it, it's not crap, actually, no matter how bad it is.  wink

#8 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Pet discussions » 02 Oct 13 :: 17:00

sad There isn't much I can do, but I will keep you and Polly in my thoughts.

#9 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Road Trippin' » 02 Oct 13 :: 16:58

Congratulations! I actually still don't know who Peter Outerbridge is, but I guess I was feeling similar when I met Peter Dinklage in London, and I didn't even have coffee with him. lol Plus, Finn Jones recognized me from last year's RingCon. I did not expect he would.

#10 Re: Square Eyes » Amber Tamblyn » 02 Oct 13 :: 16:55

I just love Amber's sense of humor. It's so brilliant. lol

Sounds evident. I thought about buying the Fire one, but then I was like "What if I don't want to watch movies and shows while being in the road?" I'm more the "launching on her sofa while watching TV" type of girl ... so I will be going for the new Paperwhite, too. It's about to be released in Germany soon. Or even has been already, I don't know exactly. The one thing that bothers me is that it doesn't offer an mp3 function, but I can live with that, I still have my beloved Miles 2.0 mp3 player. (yes, I called my mp3player Miles, because of Chris's character from The Tic Code. Because, you know, he plays music. lol)

Wouldn't it be cool if it was something of that high quality?

That would be AWESOME! And it would mean Chris would finally get the recognition he deserves.

Stunningly, Amber on Two & A Half Men is not bad at all.  With all he horrible people gone, the new core cast is pretty damn good together.  And they have got her all tarted up, with her boobs popping out of her top.  So I ain't complainin'.   tongue

I'll give it another chance, then.

AAAAAAHHHHH!!! I just saw that trailer, and woooo, can I just say that I am IN LOVE with that movie now?

BRING IT OOOOONNNNN!!!!

This could be my new Tic Code!!!

#15 Re: Square Eyes » Post your recent DVD purchases » 14 Sep 13 :: 21:41

So I just finished watching it. Well. It wasn't what I excepted it to be from the description on the back of the DVD. At the beginning I constantly asked myself "Where is the plot?" because it felt more like a documentary than like a movie. It is definitely not your average teenage love story. Like EOcean said, it feels more 'real' and serious. A few situations even slightly reminded me of my brother and the relationship he had with his former wife. Although this story is completely different, thank God.
Maybe I need to watch the movie again to fully understand it, but I like that this movie also shows the not-so-great moment of a relationship, that's what makes it feel real. Most normal romantic movies have this "In the end everything is well and everybody is happy" touch, but real life isn't always like that.

And I just realized, this is the third Anton movie I bought. I smell a trend here. lol

A Dorquette Fest sounds great. I'm in.

I've been debating with myself if I should buy a Kindle and which one ... I just can't decide.

#17 Re: Square Eyes » Post your recent DVD purchases » 13 Sep 13 :: 22:40

I will probably watch it tomorrow. The DVD says "Anton Yelchin (known from Star Trek) - tzzzzz, Star Trek! We've known him long before! I should watch more of his stuff, though, I haven't seen that much yet.

#18 Re: Joan of Arcadia » Chris Marquette on Joan of Arcadia » 13 Sep 13 :: 22:36

Do you realize that September 25 marks the tenth anniversary of the airing of the pilot? I just checked imdb.
In Germany, it aired for the first time on October 2nd, 2004, that makes 9 years this year. Wow. Sometimes it still feels like yesterday that I sat in front of the TV, curiously waiting for the show to start. Yep, I still remember that.

It's been quite a ride indeed!

After a loooong time I bought some new DVDs again:

IMG_2958.jpg

True Blood Season 4 (at last! Season 5 is still too expensive for me, though, especially since it sucked.)
The Mentalist Season 1 + 2 (Did I mention that I love Simon Baker?  big_smile )

At the shop they had this "Buy three for 25 €, so I bought those three DVD boxes. And as I was walking up and down in front of the movie DVDs I found that fourth DVD for just 5 bucks. I had no idea that movie existed but since I have a soft spot for Anton Yelchin (I think I am not the only one on this board  wink ) I bought it. Will probably watch it tonight or tomorrow.
Look at the PC rating ... 16, 16, 16, 0. LOL

Oh, I still miss it deeply. Especially when I think of what that show brought to my life, and with that I mean, not only the show itself, but what other experiences I had ... I mean, if it wasn't for JoA, I would probably never have become a fan of Chris, never would have joined that message board back in 2005, where I met Tina, who brought me to the old Chris fansite we met Deb on. We wouldn't have this page now and, most of all, we would never have had that great LA experience we had in 2008! I mean, we even sat in Chris's own car! Now tell me, what fan ever gets to sit in their favorite actor's car, huh? People are still impressed when I tell them about it, even though they have no idea who Chris is.
And for me it doesn't end there ... I'll spare you the details, but through Michael I learned of Twilight, and Twilight made me go to RingCon, this big German fantasy convention I still attend quite regularly and since I always meet actors from my favorite shows there, I've become less shy than I was. But yes, for me everything started with JoA. It was in early October 2004 when I happened to read a short article about a show featuring a girl talking to God. I decided to watch, even though I don't believe in God and look where I am now, almost 10 years later ... amazings, isn't it?  smile

One day I'll go to Canada too. *sigh*

#22 Re: All About Chris » Photo thread » 13 Sep 13 :: 20:28

I should check our twitter more often. *sigh* I wish I had more time again to do stuff like that.

#23 Re: All About Chris » Miscellaneous Stuff » 13 Sep 13 :: 20:23

A new interview? Cool! Hope we will get to hear something of that.

#24 Re: Chris On Screen » Bad Country (formerly Whiskey Bay) » 13 Sep 13 :: 20:22

To me he looked more like a lawyer or something. lol But hey, small roles are better than no roles. Still, I don't think this is going to rank high in my favorite movie list, but I'll keep an open mind about the movie.

I want a postcard from Canada!!!
