This is so sad to hear!!! Seems like everyone is sick right now
Hoops, I really really am annoyed with your doctor. If they diagnosed you correctly then they prescribed you incorrectly!! I HATE the way that doctors use antibiotics as a cure all option. Prescribe it way too freely, generally just so it looks like they are doing SOMETHING. Your antibiotics will likely protect you against further infection but thats about it. If it is viral, the antibiotics wont do anything to combat your condition. Seems to me like you need to rest and take care of your body and hope your immune system works like it should. If you start feeling worse though you should go see a different doctor. If you have a sore throat, I recommend tea with honey and lemon. Even if its only for a moment it just makes me feel SO much better when I have a sore throat. Also if you wanna kick up your immune system try echinacea (vitamin you should be able to get at the supermarket), garlic, anything high in vitamin C (so pretty much any citrus is good). I hope you feel better soon though!
Mel, that sounds very similar to my experience. Hahaha how funny do you look with the icepacks on your cheeks. My mum kept taking photos of me and my brother and giggling (we had ours out at the same time) One thing that I wish I had thought about before though, When you do start eating again, avoid anything salty or acidic!!! Ohhh that hurts and then you start bleeding again, not pleasant. It really is a hang in there and it will be alright soon situation.
Samsy..... Oh NO! Hospital?? Are you ok???
Its so good to have you back Breezer! I was worried you seemed to have fallen off the face of the earth. But tis good to know you are still as silly as ever
I have very limited knowledge of computers so I will let someone else advise you, but all I say is I hope it lasts and works for you.
Hope you recover well, Mel. I had all 4 out only a few months ago. Swollen and bruised, but all in all not too bad. But the pain killers they prescribed me were fantastic. I only took about half of what they told me to though. They were strong enough like that! Hope the swelling doesnt last too long, and you dont end up with a thumb shaped bruise on your chin like me.... Get well soon
Hahaha Thanks Mel! I think I just need to be nicer to my body....
Very intersting article Deb, and its true. You cant just choose to ignore what your customer wants. That just ends with the customer going elsewhere...
Thanks guys!!!!
I am just back from pretty much a three day bender. *sigh* I call Danny Glover (too old for.....) Was ALOT of good fun though. But now my back is sore, my feet are all cut up. SOOOO much dancing till the wee hours of the morning. But at least it was a long weekend here in Australia. So I had a day of recovery before back at work.

I have seriously never felt THIS excited about a movie....
Nawww thanks Deb! Well the haircut has only been in place since last night....Though drinks in the city tonight with friends should result in photos. I got a cake and flowers from work, and cos its a Friday we will be cracking some beers at 4 Such a happy day already.
I wish everyone a BIG HAPPY! I have done that already today....I got laughed at. Was told Happy Birthday and I went oh happy birthday to you too.....WHOOPS!
Deb, you dont ever want to break down in Australia then. $150 to fix your breaks here would be CHEAP! I had my car serviced, with brakes fixed and it cost me like $500. And the service was nothing special. Its just like a once over, oil change, spark plugs type stuff. But if it keeps my baby running, had to do it.
This is so exciting for Sean....looks VERY promising
I am not sure if I say "Tomorrow series" if anyone on this board will have a clue what I am talking about. But say that in Australia and everyone knows the books. If you havent read them I would recommend finding them. John Marsden is the author and WOW. I have met him twice and spoken with him and I am just in awe. His books changed my teenaged years. Anyway, they have made his first book of the Tomorrow series "Tomorrow when the war began" into a movie. I actually starting tearing up when I heard I was so excited.
The story is basically these highschool kids go on a camping trip just before they go back to school. They come home and everywhere is deserted. No family, no friends, not even strangers. While they were camping the country has been invaded (they never say by who in the books, so I'm curious how they will show this in the movie) anyway its their story as they attempt to survive.
I have never NEVER cried so much over ANY movie or book as I did over this series. Just WOW. I am a little nervous that the movie wont be as good as I am expecting...but there is no way I will miss this. I have been waiting for this for the last decade.
The trailer is out!!!
Though I feel like crying....so far the release date is Septemeber 2nd, but only lists Australia and New Zealand. I was hoping against hope that I would be able to see this movie in the cinemas, but unless it gets a later release outside of Australia I wont be back in time to catch it at the cinemas.
Sadly, I have been sick all weekend...so I have been grumpy and miserable. I will be back posting more soon. But excitement plus - my VISA and flights are all sorted, in 26 days I will be on a plane to the US
Hahaha I had a giggle to myself. Its good to see so many actors still have a sense of humour I love anyone that can make fun of themselves.
The Karate Kid was my older brothers favourite movie since, well forever. I have seen the original SO many times and I just adore it. I really think they should have called this movie "The kung fu kid" especially seeing as though he isnt even learning karate, but ah well. Does appear to be alright. I will be keeping an eye out for it.
Oh NO!!! Cant the world just cure sickness already
Sorry to hear that. Thats really sad. Young lives lost are so terrible
Oh and I bumped into a girl in the toilets and the Grinspoon concert and we both did that extended awkward look at each other and then pointed at each other and said KissChasy! Haha I was standing next to her for the line for KissChasy and then saw her at the Grinners concert. Small world like that.
I love rock concerts too. There is nothing quite like allowing yourself to just yell and scream and jump around and feeling the bass pump through you while next to you the person is bouncing around doing the same thing. So so SO much fun!
Ha! Cant make things too easy for me There is SO much that I want to do but only so much that time and money I can afford.
Ok I know I keep posting about bands that people will likely not know because they are Australian. But it was Grinspoon last night! A St. Patty's Day celebration of rocking out. SO much fun and SOOOO good. Although I was a little disappointed that they didnt play Just Ace, which is one of my favourite songs. It was an older song of theirs though that didnt get quite the recognition as the others. Weird bit about it though was the bass player started playing the chords to it and the other members looked at him, shook their heads and then they played another song. VERY strange. But oh well. Excellent show and I am now exhausted!
That would be brilliant Mel. Should be such a good gathering!
Fantastic News Thats awesome!
I still have a fair bit of leeway in my travels. I am trying to not have anything set in stone. I like to have a framework and solid IDEA of what I want to do. But Cologne was one of those places that I wanted to see if I had time but unsure if I could fit it in. I actually have a friend originally from Melbourne living in Bremen at the moment that I wanted to visit but because I told him the rough timing would be around Christmas this year, that was also the time that he was planning on travelling. Its still 9 months away right now. I would love the opportunity to travel the world catching up with Dorquettes though! I will have my laptop with me throughout my travels so I will no doubt be keeping everyone posted.
I hope EVERYONE starts feeling better
For those of you that were around the message board a few months ago you may remember my rambles about visiting the US. Well its really happening. I applied and have a placement at a Girl Scout Camp in Wisconsin. I will be there 3 months from May 16 till Aug 17. After that so far the plan/want to do is Chicago, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Savannah, Louiville, Memphis, Nashville, Miami, New Orleans, Dallas, Austin, Phoenix, San Diego, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle. From there its heading north into Canada. Vancouver, Jasper, Winnipeg, Toronto, Niagra Falls, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City. After which I will fly into Europe. London, Bath, Oxford, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Inverness, Glasgow, Dublin, Blarney, Belfast, Kilkenny, Cardiff, Bruges, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Munich, Zurich, Lucerne, Venice, Verona, Florence, Tuscany, Rome, Pisa, Nice, Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Casablanca, Bordeaux, Paris.
HAHAHA If you couldn't tell this is going to be a massively expensive and long trip and I am SO excited to begin in 2 months time! I plan to be finished by Feb 20 next year. I may have to miss some of the places that I have listed but this is the ultimate list which I am going to try and do and see everything. I also plan to be visiting both Deb and Moon while in Atlanta, and Breeza in California. I would LOVE to visit more of you if I have the chance TeeJay and Samsy where abouts in Germany are you from???
I would also appreciate any tips or comments about the places I plan to visit. Something I have overlooked or something that is overrated. I am so excited right now. Almost wanting to go home and pack, but that's just silly 2 months out.
Happy Birthday Moon!!! Lots of love and cuddles xoxox
NAWWWWWWWW I love the ewok dog!! Hahaha I have a dog like that and was very close to calling him Ewok, but I didnt want to be quite that much of a geek.
