Two random facts Twitter taught me about Chris Marquette:
1) He's currently in Florida
2) He has no clue how to spell 'corduroy'

I think you need a Shutterfly account to see them. It takes me to a registering page.

Thanks, but it wasn't really me. You'll see it when you get home. This was e-mailed to us by The Laugh Factory themselves. Though I would probably have found it via Twitter at some point in the next 24 hours. smile

Oh my God! The Laugh Factory just e-mailed us a link to Chris doing stand-up comedy on YouTube. He's hilarious! Loving it!! Hope they upload more! (And I wonder if the thing about being in a new relationship is actually true.)

#305 Re: The Bullhorn » Message Board announcements » 12 Jun 12 :: 21:15

Okay, so some of you might have noticed that since the last message board update, the ranks have kinda disappeared and most people are just "Members". That's because they removed the ranks feature and now use the user groups for that. It's nothing you personally need to concern yourselves with, and I have gone ahead and configured things the way they should be.

However... it wasn't gonna be that easy now, was it? Looks like this new promotion to next rank thing only works when the user has reached the threshold to cross over to one rank up. Until then they'll still show up as "Member". I have no clue how to change that (and you possibly can't), so I think we're just gonna have to live with it. Sorry. sad

YES, Chris plays the best friend:

Chris Marquette ("The Girl Next Door"), Diego Klattenhoff ("Homeland") and Jim Gaffigan ("It's Kind of a Funny Story") have joined the cast of indie drama "Kilimanjaro," which Walter Strafford is directing from a script he wrote.

John Cullum ("All Good Things"), Bruce Altman ("Arbitrage"), Adam James ("Band of Brothers"), Henny Russell ("You Don't Know Jack") and Val Emmich ("Ugly Betty") have been tapped to round out the ensemble. Brian Geraghty stars alongside Alexia Rasmussen and Abigail Spencer.

Strafford's debut feature finds Geraghty playing a man who, stuck in a routine job and a stagnant relationship, sets out to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro with his best friend (Marquette). Facing challenges from every direction, protag struggles to make his way to the mountaintop.

"Kilimanjaro" is a production of RPW Prods. and Taggart Prods. in association with TideRock Films, Gordon Bijelonic/Datari Turner Films and MindSmack Prods. Ryan Piers Williams and Jason Michael Berman are producing with Thomas B. Fore, Kwesi Collisson, Gordon Bijelonic and Datari Turner. Exec producers are Tim Chonacas, Ruth Mutch, Todd Feuer and Kevin Stanford.

Pic will begin filming in and around Brooklyn this week.

Yeah, I installed a new plugin for the formatting stuff. It'll be easier to upgrade than what we had before. Glad you like it.

Two friends of mine and I went to see a theatre play with Cate Blanchett today. It was fantastic, and just a little surreal. And now I need to go grocery shopping, which somehow feels way too mundane in the wake of today's events.

#315 Re: Square Eyes » TV Shows: Old and New 2012 Appreciation / Discussion thread » 01 Jun 12 :: 13:29

I'll probably take a look at the fire department show (even though it seems like another remake of Third Watch) and the post-apocalypse thing. I don't remember their names. Apparently, Peter Outerbridge is in the pilot of the CW's The Beauty And The Beast reboot (small role), so of course I'm going to have to check that one out too. Don't think I would have otherwise, though.

Generally I have to say that this year's fall lineup seems terribly unimaginative. There wasn't anything that I felt terribly excited about. I'm more excited about my summer shows coming back, like Suits, The Glades, White Collar and Necessary Roughness.

#316 Re: The Bullhorn » General site announcements and changes » 30 May 12 :: 22:55

All right, I have finally tackled the forum upgrade to the latest version. I don't think you should notice a lot of changes, the most noticeable probably the new BB code bar that has different buttons and smilies. I hope you're okay with using these smilies for now. It's always such a hassle to customize them, and it's already 11 PM where I live. This means some of the old smilies will probably not display right. I might go back and fix that some other time.

I also installed something called Fancybox that lets you open linked images in an embedded window. Here, try clicking the banner below:

Neat, no?

As usual, if you notice anything that's not working right, please let me know.

#317 Re: Chris On Screen » Thule - New Short Film » 29 May 12 :: 22:53

I've recently been in touch with Kyle Fisher, the producer of the movie, and there's no news about distribution of the film. It's always difficult with short films beyond the limited film festival run. However, he was kind enough to send me a few hi-res photos of Chris from the movie, which I'm allowed to share with you guys. (Thank you, Kyle!) smile

He also said working with Chris was great and that he's an incredibly talented actor. Yep, I second that.

#320 Re: Square Eyes » Misc Stuff » 25 May 12 :: 08:50

Truth be told, I only watched the show because one of my favorite White Collar authors was praising it and then she wrote a story that sounded really good for an h/c junkie like me. I decided to give it a shot and I ended up liking it a lot. Next to White Collar, it's probably the one mid-sesaon show I'm looking forward to most when it returns. I think both Gabriel Macht and PJ Adams are doing a fantastic job with Harvey and Mike. Rick Hoffman as Louis is just a wonderful guy to love to hate, and the supporting cast is excellent too. Some of the characters are slightly quirky, which is always refreshing.

One of the things I enjoy most about it is what my fanfic friend called UFT. Unresolved Friendship Tension. Because Harvey is the kind of guy who says he doesn't have any friends, and doesn't care about others. But of course that's not true. He cares, he just doesn't like to admit it. And he likes Mike (not sexually, even though 90% of the fandom makes it so -- like most any TV show that has two male leads). They play with that a lot, and IMHO it works very well.

Of course it doesn't hurt that neither Gabriel or Patrick are unattractive. smile

I was encouraged to watch Sherlock only two or three months ago. And so I did and pretty much fell in love with it right away. And just to avoid confusion, I'm not talking about the movies with Robert Downey Jr. I mean the BBC series with Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch.

#323 Re: Square Eyes » In Praise of Chris's Colleagues » 23 May 12 :: 19:48

Well, if you only wanna watch it for Brooke, I'd almost say don't bother. Her role was tiny. I think we saw her twice. She barely had two lines. Though maybe she's gonna be in the season 13 premiere more cause the s12 finale ended on some criminal abducting her daughter.

#324 Re: Square Eyes » In Praise of Chris's Colleagues » 23 May 12 :: 08:39

Brooke Nevin was on CSI: the other week. Not sure if it was last week's ep or the one before since I watched them back-to-back. She played DB's daughter, so I'm not sure if she's gonna be back at some point, but it didn't look like a recurring role.

#325 Re: Square Eyes » New Shows 2011 » 23 May 12 :: 08:36

Yeah, I'm gonna have to boycott Elementary. Cause Sherlock BBC is just too good and too original to be made into an Americanized remake. And what's with giving Sherlock a British accent in the US version? The cast doesn't hold an interest for me either. And, yes, I know, I'm a hypocrite because I'm watching Being Human US, but that was Sam H's fault and I've never seen the UK original.
