Anyone gonna watch the academy awards tomorrow?  I can't decide.... I've really only seen a handful of the movies.  I just like the fashion part too!

I hate to admit I'm into alcatraz.  It's exactly like Lost I know accept in alcatraz instead of an exotic island, but maybe I like it because its so much like lost!  The main leads are growing on me.

Just watched 127 Hours again yesterday.  Still makes me nervous to watch it!  What a well done movie, holds up well upon second viewing.  What a great role for Amber too, hope to see her in more movies like this one!

Thanks Deb!

I just had to post a picture of the puppy I almost got today! The picture is a little big so I'll attach it as a link.

My parents said the same thing, that they are beautiful dogs but it wouldn't be happy in an apartment on the 6th floor sad

Good info deb.  I grew up with a border collie and I remember the same thing about her Cappyu Girl.   She did eventually calm down.  I worry about that getting a dog, being away for so long. but my co-worker has a collie and she seems pretty house broken and laid back about it.  I've thought about a King Charles Spaniel, but they are very expensive!

Very true deb!

I found the cutest litter of Australian shepherds in Terrell.  I also found one adult shepherd / cattle dog that I inquired about.  Do you know anything about them?  we have a border collie - i hear shepherds are great pets.  I'm thinking its finally time to get one.

Thanks Deb, but it didn't happen sad  At least we have presidents day off, just have to get through 4 more days!

#485 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 13 Feb 12 :: 04:06

There is actually sleet/snow mixture outside.  suppose to happen all night.  here's hoping that it actually sticks so school will be cancelled!  It would be nice not to have to go in tomorrow!  Even a delayed start would be awesome.  especially after working a saturday school!

#486 Re: Chris On Screen » The Napkin (a short film by Aaron Himelstein) » 08 Feb 12 :: 04:20

awesome.  keeping fingers crossed it makes it online to see smile

Alcatraz is kind of cool.  Not completely sold yet, but the first two eps aired tonight and I was entertained.  Not sure about the lead chick yet, though.  And come on, you just knew they wouldn't hire Parminder Nagra only to kill her off after 90 minutes of TV, so...

I feel the same way Deb... I definitely got suckered into Alcatraz quickly.  The music and flashbacks remind me a lot of Lost, even the character 'Jack'.  I'll definitely stay tuned into it.

I have to admit, the new Chelsea Handler comedy is pretty funny too -- although Laura Prepon's performance of chelsea is little too dry for me compared to the rest of the cast.

I second that Mel, i haven't seen most of them either actually.   I hear performances for Marilyn were amazing and the Help is good.

I was disappointed that Ryan Gosling wasn't nominated for Drive sad  amazing performance and fantastic movie if you haven't seen it.  I know he was nominated for a golden globe for ides of march, but I actually never saw that one.

My sister and her boyfriend got me the Lord of the Rings collection on blu ray - it's pretty awesome!  Out of all the blu ray dvd's I've seen - its the only one where I've been able to see a big picture difference.

Between upper 50s and low 70s for the next 10 days.  I'd like at least one day of snow this year!
