Illinois.. It isn't really cold here either. I actually kinda wish it was a bit colder. So there wouldn't be that wet white mush everywhere, making my feet wet and making my flu worse. Some of the snow has melted. Looks kinda like april here. I wish it was january or february already. So it's clear and sunny, even the frisky cold feels good. Atleast it would be a bit dry for a while..

Blah, I bringing you down again.. Here's something to perk up the day.. big_smile

Q. How do you know  when your bass player arrives?
A. He knocks on the door, but forgets to come in!

Q: What's E.T. short for?
A: Because he has little legs!

Q: What's black and white and red all over?
A: Mimes in a chainsaw fight.

A mystery-lover takes his place  in the theater for opening night, but his seat is way back in the theater, far from the stage. The man calls an usher over and whispers, ''I just love a good mystery, and I have been anxiously anticipating the opening of this play. However, in order to carefully follow the clues and fully enjoy the play, I have to watch a mystery close up. Look how far away I am! If you can get me a better seat, I'll give you a handsome tip.''
The usher nods and says he will be back shortly. Looking forward to a large tip, the usher speaks with his co-workers in the box office, hoping to find some closer tickets. With just three minutes left until curtain, he finds an unused ticket at the Will Call window and snatches it up. Returning to the man in the back of the theater, he whispers, ''Follow me.'' The usher leads the man down to the second row, and proudly points out the empty seat right in the middle. ''Thanks so much,'' says the theatergoer, ''This seat is perfect.'' He then hands the usher a quarter.
The usher looks down at the quarter, leans over and whispers, ''The butler did it in the parlor with the candlestick.''

Due to a mixup on  Grammy night, Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are forced to share a private jet in order to arrive in time for the ceremony.
Once up in the air, Madonna pulls out a $1000 bill and says, "I'm going to throw this $1000 bill out the window and make someone down below very happy."
Not to be outdone, Britney ripped a $1000 bill in half and threw it out the window, saying, "Look, I just made two people really happy."
Not even noticing Britney's stupid move, Christina bragged, "Look, I'm going to throw 1000 $1 bills and make a lot more people a little happier."
At this point the pilot, who has overheard all this bragging and can't stand it anymore, comes out and says, "I think I'll throw all three of you out of this plane and make 250 million people happy."

Simon, congrats! big_smile

I can't believe it's friday already.. I have so much on my to do-list... It's only two more days to my son's bd and I haven't done anything yet. The food, the cleaning, the decorations, the present... And I'm gonna have to put up all the christmas stuff today too. And all this while my flu keeps getting worse and worse by the day.. My throat is killing me and I'm tired and I have weird headaches and some other pains totally unrelevant to the flu. Something that bugs me every now and then.. I hope I can forget all about those pains after christmas when I have my doctor's appointment...

Uh, sorry. I'm such a whiner. I hate it.. I feel like crap but I can't go through these boards without smiling, so thank you. big_smile

I've been naughty. :embarrassed: I've already seen it three times. Loved it. Love Anton, Love Robert. Good storyline and all. I'll order the DVD from play.com too. big_smile Anton is one of those actors that tie you infront of the screen. Even if you just plan to watch just one good scene of one of his movies, you end up watching the whole thing because once he gets a hold of your attention, you want more and more and can't get enough. Captivating. Makes your heartbeat irrational, makes you hold your breath at times. And the sexy voice helps! wink

And Chris is amongst this small group of actors. wink A real talent.

She has a new book coming out, a memoir called Wishful Drinking.  I love her books.  She's a wonderful writer.  smile

Ha, ha. lol She really is funny. I've never read anything by her before. This was a great bit:

Remember the white dress I wore all through that film? George came up to me the first day of filming, took one look at the dress and said: 'You can't wear a bra under that dress.'

'OK, I'll bite,' I said. 'Why?' And he said: 'Because ... there's no underwear in space.'

He said it with such conviction. Like he had been to space and looked around and he didn't see any bras or panties anywhere.

He explained. 'You go into space and you become weightless. Then your body expands but your bra doesn't, so you get strangled by your own underwear.'

I think that this would make for a fantastic obituary. I tell my younger friends that no matter how I go, I want it reported that I drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra.

Instead of a bra, what do you think I wore for support, intergalactically? Gaffer tape.

I'm pretty sure if I ever see any yellow sports cars I'm gonna think of Alice. lol They'll probably go too fast anyway for me to look for the letters telling the manifacturer. I can't recognize cars.. Just some of the ones most used in Finland.. Like Volvo, Toyota, Volkswagen, Mercedes and Ford.

Thank you, Deb. big_smile I wonder why I haven't seen that movie yet. I love Michael J Fox, especially 80-90-change of the decade stuff. big_smile Loved the long hair. And right away I went to IMDB to look for the movie. lol Once again I'm gonna start bombing our TV-channels' webpages with "please, would you put this movie on..." big_smile Why not? It has worked about 10 times before. big_smile Someone commented on that youtube video that there's no DVD for this movie and if that's true, I guess I can't see it if it isn't on TV.

This is a very cool blog about the series Heroes with Kristin. There's great pictures of her. I would have linked just them but when I click "show picture" it just wants to save it to my computer... But anyways. I'm still sick, so can't concentrate in all that long text, just bits here and there. But I'm pretty sure there some funny stuff about Kristin too.

Oh hey, Spoiler-alert. If you haven't seen all of the Heroes-episodes you might get to know more than you want to know.

I love Joan Jett. big_smile But I am a bit late on that one. She's not that big in Finland. I just looked her up a year ago when I learned that I love Rock 'n' Roll was originally her song. Love her. big_smile

I had a "you know you're obsessed about Twilight when..."- moment yesterday... I laughed like a crazy person. lol I was in the car with my hubby and we were driving in Haparanda. We were going from one store to another and then we ran into a stop in this one crossroad. There was a car standing infront of us waiting to get it's turn. Hubby got a bit anxious -swearing about dumb Swedes that can not drive-, I started to look for a reason. Then I noticed the word "Volvo" and it was dark so I couldn't see properly. So I asked: "Is that a silver Volvo?" Hubby said yes. I started giggling like a wackjob, I laughed for a long time after we'd got on our way because I had lots of Twilight-flashbacks. Hubby asked me several times what was so funny and grinned at my laughter. He wouldn't take any of my one-word answer so I actually had to say the words "You wouldn't understand. It's a Twilight thing".  They sounded so weird in finnish! lol

#1362 Re: Square Eyes » Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies) » 03 Dec 08 :: 08:01

Blah. I'm tired of this argument. Most be because I can't really explain how I see it. Maybe you need to be a mother to see Jacob's point of view.. The "I need to protect you from your own actions"-point of view.. Still, can't explain it properly. But hey, what ever! I'm one of those "Bella can keep Edward; Jacob's all mine!"-people. lol I do see the attraction to Edward too. Jacob's just more like my kinda guy and I can't understand why anyone would pass on such dreamy guy. big_smile

By the way, there's this musicvideo someone made called 'Your burning sun'. It's right on Jacob's point of view and I think it's the best Twilight musicvideo there is out there! big_smile If you disagree, please feel free to link any other videos. big_smile Never get tired of them...

I had to google that guy, I was so intrigued about what's bugging you. I didn't get much wiser. Just woke up with a flu, can't concentrate on reading long texts.. But I guess it's because he was voted as the new senator? Why's that bad? I don't know crap about american politics but for some weird reason the word 'republic' sounds like a curseword... or like something a cat puked on my favorite carpet... Too much TV for me...

#1365 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 02 Dec 08 :: 11:51

It's been relatively warm here for few days now. Right now the thermometer says -3 celsius (26,6 F) The snow has melted into slosh but it's still there. A bit colder on the nights so the roads look pretty icy and ruts are there again.. And I have to start doing t he shopping hulabaluu one of these days.. jaiks..

Finnish winter tempatures.. This is how I'd rate it...

+10C/ 50F: heat wave. Clothing: Long pants, shirt, light jacket.

+5C / 41F: Still pretty warm. Clothing as above, just a thicker shirt or jacket if it's windy.

0C / 32F: A bit chilly. Winter jacket. Hat, gloves and underpants if it's windy.

-5C / 23F: Cold. Clothing: all of above.

-10C / 14F: Nose freezes- cold. Clothing: all of above and still cold but I'll be damned if I pull out the real winter pants on at this point... I don't spend that much time outside in this temperature.

-15C / 5F: Icy cheeks-cold. Clothing: all of above and the winter pants just for a quick trip to the store.

-20C/-4F: Eyelashes turn white- cold. I wouldn't go outside at any cost. But some crazy Finns go skiing in full winter gear (or less if they expect to get swety).

-25C/ -13F: Freezing cold. If I was forced to go out, after five minutes I'd loose sensation in my butt.

-30C/ -22F: Can't move my face- cold.  Still some finns are totally nuts and go skiing. (like my sports maniac brother; he's got asthma, he loves to do sports in cold)

-35C/ -31F: Polar bears would seek for warmth too- cold.

-40C/ -40F: Santa's not coming this year- cold. Even the loonies stay in.

Where I grew up it really was -40 one winter. Still we were supposed to go to school. But most people stayed at home. The town dog-breader lost his membership in the kennel coalition because he killed some of his dogs and made clothes out of their furs...:o

Hey I read you fan fic last night. big_smile It was awesome! Not too far out of character but enough to shake things up a bit. big_smile

#1370 Re: Square Eyes » Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies) » 30 Nov 08 :: 22:59

There's no "bad way" for any kind of 'unbelieveable' in the Twilight-series! wink

Oh yeah: don't you go bashing on my Jacob! :witsend: Um, Jacob. :embarrassed: He's a cutie, and I loved him all the way. I don't get it why some people have to go saying bad things about him.. Gosh.. the guy needs some lovin'... Everytime I read the books I'm suffering from "Jacob needs a hug"-syndrome. wink

Dang, I was about to slap my self when I sat down in the train friday afternoon and realized the one thing I forgot to pack: Twilight. I missed it the whole weekend and actually started seeing the Cullens in the people around me! It was really cold so we went inside the station at Kemi to wait for the train. Who do I see sitting across from me in the hall if not Jasper! wink Well, a Jasper-lookalike, anyways. lol He was travelling with this cute little blonde and I guess if she had dyed her hair she would have passed for Alice. She certainly had the personality right on. lol And then when we sat down in he train, they were sitting right infront of me. I'm ashamed to say that I stared but I couldn't keep my eyes away for long. They had such great chemistry, I could see the love in her eyes.. *sigh* And another one.. I saw an Emmett-lookalike walking pass me outside the Oulu station (I had to switch trains). It was weird. I lift my eyes and he's there, walking towards me and looks at me. And I couldn't take my eyes off from his eyes! lol Stared at each other for few seconds, about 6 steps until he passed me. I felt that I had to gain some more self-control and didn't look back. roll I most be going crazy!

#1371 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 30 Nov 08 :: 22:29

Hey, I'm ba-ack! big_smile Too. Anne beat me to it. lol I wasn't planning on going online tonight but how 'bout it; here I am. I had some whitdrawls.. I actually took a peak at here saturday too on my friend's laptop. I missed ya! big_smile

I had a very nice weekend. Lots of fun and I don't think I've ever talked that much. I'm beat! So when I got back home it was saunatime for the whole family and seemed like JTT and the boys had a nice weekend too. And as if I hadn't already eaten a whole lot of pizza this weekend (home-made friday for lunch and my friend baked some for dinner and she baked so many, that we ate them today too) I made myself some kinda-healthy pizzabreds for a evening snack. It was yummy. And am I nuts for making some of those tomorrow for lunch too? We still have some pizza-ham left and I don't want it to spoil... :embarrassed:

So.. What have you all been up to? Whuhuu! Way to quit your job! big_smile You most be really brave. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. big_smile I wish I would get a job too. roll

Hey, the thing I was thinking about when I decided to post tonight.. It was such a Adam&Joan moment I have to share. JTT missed me like nuts, he's been all over me ever since we got back home. roll big_smile So I asked him, what does he think about my face. He rolled his eyes and didn't get the question. I asked again: do you think something's different about my eyes? Once again, he had no clue what so ever. So it was my turn to roll my eyes and I started to laugh like a crazy person for the J&A-relevance. JTT looked really long and still didn't get it. He asked me what's different? And I had to answer: "Well, half of my eyebrows are gone and my eyelashes are dyed!" (My friend had lots of fun working on my eyebrows and lashes. I finally gave in, she's been asking to do it for 12 years!) JTT's answer: "I really don't look at your eyes that much" lol Men! Then I got a little offended by that but of course I wasn't really believeable when I was trying to hold back a laughter. Then he tried to fix it by saying something like he didn't mean it as a bad thing, he really just sees me. Didn't Adam say something like that in that one episode with make-up and stuff?

#1373 Re: Off Topic Stuff » Randomness » 28 Nov 08 :: 09:13

I'm so excited about our trip my heart feels like a humming bird. big_smile And why...? Well, I finally get to sleep in for two whole mornings without fearing that the boys will trash the house while I'm at it. I am pretty tired. So little sleep this week.. And I had a hideous two days with the kids when JTT was off town. I almost feel sorry for him leaving him alone with the boys. Or not. I know he'll spend a lot of time at his mom's place. And he'll have lots of help at home too. I'll text the 11 year old neighbour about the situation in case she wants to come play 'mommy' with the boys. lol Oh dang, I'm hovering... Maybe I should just let him do things his way. I'm driving him nuts.

But yay, few more hours and I'm in a buss. And then a train. In these few hours I've still got some packing to do and pizza to make and I need to get some groceries too. And diapers. My oversized babies refuse to use the potty even when they know how to use it. Such strong persnalities...I'll miss them like crazy but I'll also enjoy the free weekend. It's been four years since I last spent a whole two days away from the boys...
