Oh, and we are now into the 4th season of Lost. big_smile

#127 Re: Square Eyes » Lost » 04 Feb 08 :: 10:01

From what I've heard, Lost is signed on for 2 more seasons after this one--unless something has recently been changed.

I finally got to watch the premiere today before the Superbowl and I thought it was really interesting. Hurley mentioned that he was one of the Oceanic 6. So we know Hurley, Kate, and Jack all get off the island, but who are the other 3 including the one in the coffin from last season?
I'm like you Tina, still really confused about things and I can't wait to see what unfolds in this season.

Yea, that's the one(Sunshine)!
It was cheap and it was recommended so I picked it up & will probably check it out this weekend.

Clue was pretty cool and fun. But man, I LOVE the Untouchables! One of my all-time favs!
My new additions are: Sunshine, The Gameplan, Saw IV, Johnny Dangerously, and Battlestar Galactica: Razor. smile

Controversial editing?  Never heard that before!  Now, I'm curious.

Heck yea, I'm all over that too. From what alot of the fans of the book are saying, the theatrical ending is pretty controversial by itself. The ending is quite different from the book, actually... a lot of the movie is...but the more I see this movie, the more I enjoy it for what it is and the more I think Will Smith is THE MAN for carrying this movie almost all by himself. (I kinda already own a copy of the DVD and have seen it 5 times now) tongue

I had a quick question for you guys, IllinoisGuy inparticular-have you considered switching over to the Blu-ray or HD-DVD format? A few of us have some pretty large DVD collections, and the thought of going to another format gives me mixed feelings- I was just curious what you all thought....

#134 Re: Square Eyes » Post your recent DVD purchases » 28 Jan 08 :: 02:54

I feel that we've discussed this before, but do ya have 'Undeclared' as well? Great series! big_smile

#135 Re: Square Eyes » Post your recent DVD purchases » 27 Jan 08 :: 22:59

Picked up a few over the weekend:
Battlestar Galactica Season 2.5
Tenebre
Home Alone 2
Hollywood Sign
Good Luck Chuck
Mr. Brooks
Heartbreak Kid
and Miami Ink Season 1

I'm pretty sure he's in a few of them. I think his fiance/wife was there too. Kyle is wearing a Yoda mask in one of the scenes while we were all in line for Episode I and his bro is sitting right next to him.

#137 Re: Chris On Screen » Fanboys » 27 Jan 08 :: 11:30

Little tidbit of trivia for ya: His brother and parents were in the theater scene with us. The cancer-storyline-theater-scene that is. wink

#139 Re: Square Eyes » Holy Hell! No Way!!! » 24 Jan 08 :: 17:00

I know, I know...Is there some weird dark reason why Fox News is the only news site that my workplace's firewall doesn't block? hmm

#140 Re: Square Eyes » Holy Hell! No Way!!! » 24 Jan 08 :: 08:03

As I go back to check the site, they have updated saying that there was no residue found on the rolled up bill.

#141 Re: Square Eyes » Holy Hell! No Way!!! » 24 Jan 08 :: 07:49

I read on Foxnews today that they found a rolled up $20 bill with a 'substance' on it that is now being  tested. Not sure how much validity there is to that, but I guess we shall soon find out.

Happy Merry Day of Birth!!! I hope it was an awesome day for you Anne!!

#143 Re: Square Eyes » Holy Hell! No Way!!! » 23 Jan 08 :: 08:50

The age thing is quite a spooky coincidence. Not quite as crazy as all the artists lost at age 27, but still interesting since both characters are similar with the make-up and are both based on comic books .

#144 Re: Square Eyes » Holy Hell! No Way!!! » 23 Jan 08 :: 04:12

Wow, that is just shocking.
Watching the "Dark Knight" will be just eerie now.
Just like watching "The Crow" after Brandon Lee had died...

#145 Re: Square Eyes » Holy Hell! No Way!!! » 23 Jan 08 :: 03:56

My boss came up to me at work and asked, "Did you hear Heath Ledger was found dead today, surrounded by pills"?
I seriously thought it was the opening line to a joke. But I was quite shocked when I heard it was true. I can't claim to be a huge follower of Heath's, but I am very aware of his talent and was very anxious to see how his version of the Joker turned out. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and fans, but especially to his 2 yr old daughter who lost her daddy far too soon.

Man, that's crazy- I'm in the same boat as you. All my new DVDs are laying in mixed stacks in one room, while all my organized ones are in two others. :doh:

I found an easter egg on the Family Guy DVD that is a teaser for the next Star Wars Special called, "Something, Something, Something, Darkside". big_smile

#147 Re: Square Eyes » 55 Must See movies of 2008 » 19 Jan 08 :: 16:13

Oh yea, they showed a trailer for "The Ruins" too which looks like your basic teen horror flick. Some young adults stumble across some ancient ruins in Mexico and suddenly have worms crawling under their skin. They should've known better not to drink the water there.

#148 Re: Square Eyes » 55 Must See movies of 2008 » 19 Jan 08 :: 16:08

When I saw Cloverfield yesterday, they had trailers for 'Jumper', 'Star Trek', and 'Iron Man'. Good Ol' Anakin and Mace Windu are in Jumper and I think it looked kinda cool.
I'm not a huge Star Trek fan, but I'm definitely not one of these Star Wars diehards that despises Trekkies and thinks that you're only allowed to like one Saga. I have seen all the movies and I would really like to give the new ST a chance.
Iron Man looked a little cheesy as expected, but at the same time, my inner comic-book-fanboy got all excited. Robert Downey Jr might actually give Tony Stark some character.  smile

#149 Re: Square Eyes » The X Files 2 » 19 Jan 08 :: 02:29

Very cool!
I loved watching the X-Files! I used to collect the trading cards, read the comics and novels, and even had action figures and an X-Files video game--but unfortunately I lost interest around the time the first movie came out--and then when Mulder left, I resorted to watching the early episodes I had on VHS for my X-Files fix. smile
I haven't read up much on what the sequel's gonna focus on, but hopefully it'll be viewer friendly for those of us that bailed before the Series ended. wink

#150 Re: Square Eyes » Cloverfield » 19 Jan 08 :: 02:16

Well, I originally planned on seeing this tonight,
but I got outta work early today and snuck off to see it while Jacen was still in school. wink
I just wanted to make a few quick points-and there's probably gonna be a few mild spoilers so proceed with caution.
Those sketches are pretty close to what the 'thing' looks like. Those lil 'sacs' on the side of his head inflate/deflate as he breathes which looks pretty cool. It's really hard to get a good look at the thing throughout the movie, as they kinda tease you throughout, but towards the end, you get a good look at his face/torso . A friend of mine asked me today what the monster looked like and I really couldn't think of anything to compare it to-it's like a combination of different beasts yet has a unique quality all it's own.
As far as the movie goes, I must say I really enjoyed it. The visuals were great-you truly felt like you were in the middle of this attack and witnessing the destruction of New York City. The motion of the camera didn't bother me one bit-sure, there's a lot of shaky photography and quick cuts and movement, but it didn't throw off the flow of the movie at all in my opinion. I remember when I saw the Blair Witch in the theaters and as I was walking out, I could hear one person after another complaining about motion sickness-I was 'too into' this film for that to even be an issue. The acting wasn't blow-you-away spectacular, but it was a much better job than your typical monster movie acting. There was some good humor thrown in as well.
At the end of the film, I couldn't help but wonder, Where did the monster come from? What is the monster? What happened to him? What is Cloverfield? What happened to their friend that was bit? But despite having some loose ends(as expected since we're only seeing one point of view) I had fun watching this.
I look forward to reading everyone else's thoughts too once they see this.

oh, and watch out!! The Monster has fleas!! big_smile
