Rick, yeah this is one of my favourite movies. The entire time it just never takes itself seriously. I think our level of swearing is alot different in Australia than the US. As far as i know the fucks werent replaced in the copy i have. They say it ALOT that plus numerous other curses, but the rating it got was MA (which is 15 plus only in Aus) They may have possibly be trying to get a lower rating in the US by replacing the word but never did. I am not sure to be honest.

The bill itself wasnt valuable. Just at the very beginning of the movie it was the point that the guy was doodling on the note and it ended up continually popping up throughout the movie. So the whole point of it was just making that particular note recognisable. So he grabs it not because the actual note was valuable but because he recognises it as a note from the original stash of money.

Its a movie that i really enjoy but i know that it tends to be either hit or miss with people. I personally love it but can see how it doesnt appeal to alot of people. So i am glad that you enjoyed it Rick. This is the first movie role i ever saw Heath in and i have loved him ever since.

#533 Re: Square Eyes » Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies) » 19 Aug 09 :: 04:29

Haha i am so glad we share the same opinion. I love Twilight but both Edward and Bella annoy me so much. I am normally pretty quiet about it though cos most dont agree with me. But i love the Cullens so much. Such a soft spot for Alice and Carlisle. And Emmett (but mostly from the movie). And the entire wolf pack are amazing. I actually felt really sorry for Mike and Jessica too. She jsut so desperately wanted him and he wanted Bella but settled, that kinda thing does happen too often. And then they had Mike Welch play Mike and i just loved him. GAH!

#536 Re: Square Eyes » Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies) » 19 Aug 09 :: 01:16

Hahaha its ok Samantha I actually agree with you too. I loved Jacob. But at the same time i also agree with Laura. It is never ok to say that to someone. NEVER. But I dont hate him for it either. It was actually Bella that bothered me most during New Moon. I have actually said this before that i am actually not a huge fan of Edward. The passion that he shows for Bella is amazing and I am very jealous of someone having that but in the same breath I find him almost too emotional and he seems to sulk quite alot to me. I know my opinion isnt a popular one. But its what i think smile

#537 Re: Introduce Yourself » Hey There! :) » 18 Aug 09 :: 04:08

I think that might be the point though. I can remember laughing at the movie and just really enjoying the moment and going along in a happy mood through all their partying and then when the seriousness happens it was like a hit to the face. I felt so guilty for enjoying it when i knew what they were doing was wrong. I think its just a really excellent and powerful movie. I dont think i could quote the entire movie though. I think the only movie i could ever do that for would be Grease. But its definitely a movie i can watch over and over again and each time it still hits me just how quickly things turned from laughing and partying to dark dark times.

#540 Re: Introduce Yourself » Hey There! :) » 18 Aug 09 :: 03:43

HEY! Leesy smile Welcome welcome....etc

Hahaha sorry that was really lazy of me. But i definitely agree with you. Alpha Dog is also one of my favourite movies of all time. I went a little mental last week when my brothers girlfriend had never even heard of it. So i made her sit and watch a youtube video of the trailer and then pushed the DVD into her hands and told her to go home and watch it.

Anywho shall surely be chatting to you later smile

Yeah Australia has a very strong unemployment benefit scheme, almost too strong. There are people out there that would rather not get a job and just live on what the government gives them. Its good for those in hard times but its far too easy for people to take advantage of it. We also have government sponsored health care. Its sad to hear you might be losing your job Deb sad I am actually lucky enough to be working in not only the fuel industry but the environmental side of that. So my job will be here for a while to come. I really do hope that somehow this change does work out to be wonderful for you

#543 Re: Introduce Yourself » Our little questionnaire ::: Come on in and answer it » 17 Aug 09 :: 06:29

Have you ever seen An American Pyscho with Christian Bale? He is a yuppie and a bit of an arse but he is still very charming and hot but a serial killer....Its a fascinating mix.

#544 Re: Introduce Yourself » Our little questionnaire ::: Come on in and answer it » 17 Aug 09 :: 06:26

You should try it Deb. I dont have the creative skill...i just appreciate others. If you ever did get round to it i would love to read it smile

#545 Re: Square Eyes » stolen from Metafilter » 17 Aug 09 :: 04:33

Oh i love all things Mario smile

The only issue i have ever had with it was that when we were younger and i would play with my brothers i always had to take the girl parts even when i didnt want them. Consequently i have never liked Peach or April (from the Turtles). I always wanted to be Yoshi and Michaelangelo but nope i was never allowed. HAHAHA

It just reminds me of the movie they made about Mario where the 2 plumbers were sucked into another world and had to save Princess Peach from Bowser. I loved it. Havent seen it since i was really little and would probably laugh at how bad it is now. But still back then it was AWESOME

#546 Re: Introduce Yourself » Our little questionnaire ::: Come on in and answer it » 16 Aug 09 :: 05:57

I dont know who we would need to talk to about a Catcher in the Rye movie but I would be sooooooooooo excited for it to happen. It is such a fantastic idea. I can just picture Chris as Holden too. *sigh* if only these things could happen from will alone

#547 Re: Square Eyes » Bones » 16 Aug 09 :: 05:52

This is one of those shows that everytime i watch it i wonder why im not addicted to it. I agree i absolutely loved that relationship...i never did see the episode that had them breaking up though...i saw them together and then the next one she was with another woman. Just bringing it up makes me wanna watch another episode. Thats so awesome that you got to see all that TeeJay and Deb. Which episode did you get to work on??????
